Altesi Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
I am unhappy to report this is the second time to this restaurant and forgot after the first time I would never go here again. The service is good, seems a bit light on people, a bit awkward on the layout of the restaurant, but in the end the food is the key factor. The food is terrible. The burrata, the risotto, the wine, all terrible. I cannot say anyone in our party of 4 liked anything about this meal. Sorry.
Looking for a nice neighborhood spot-this is a good one. Service is great, food is good though pasta a tad over cooked. Paparadelle is so far the best item though the veal meatballs were very and flavorful-nice tomato sauce. What I really like is that they have a nice Barolo by the glass-a rare find. We will be regulars! We also love eating at round tables. It makes dining more intimate. We really like Altesi!
Took my sister here for her birthday lunch, what a cute spot! We sat in the outdoor garden area which is very quaint and special. We shared the grilled artichokes, caesar salad and cacio e pepe, everything was delicious! The food is a little expensive so want to preface this by saying we went for a special event. The food and service was amazing, staff was very attentive to refilling our water and bread basket.
I've been to this restaurant about a dozen times. This time it was really bad! The waitress recommended the "special"of Veal Scallopini which turned out not to be scallopini but veal medallions. Tough and tasteless. She also recommended an appetizer of tuna tartar . One portion was prepared correctly the other one had very little tuna spread thinly over avocado... It was also outrageously priced which she neglected to tell us when we ordered it.
Altesi is a terrific and very under appreciated dining experience. The food and ambiance is terrific and I find it incredible that so few folks have found it. I have had numerous business repeats there and everyone has been amazed that it isn't paced, which it deserves to be.
Best pasta gravy I've had in a long time. Unfortunately, the pasta was raw. I had to send it back to be cooked. it was hard in the middle.
I found this restaurant on the restaurant week website and was very disappointed that they said it was lunch only. Why did it let me make a 5:45 pm appointment?
We had lunch in Altesi Ristorante on a Thursday. It was very quiet in the restaurant. Three tables were occupied only. It therefore felt a bit lonely. The food was superb. There should be more people out there to enjoy this place. The service was good too. One day we will come back in the evening to see if there are more guests in the evening. There should be enough reasons for this restaurant to be packed.
For a change of pace, we both had eggs. Mine were delicious--boiled eggs with smoked salmon. the only thing missing was a bagel and cream cheese. My husband's frittata was also excellent. We decided to have the chocolate soufflé for dessert, which is warm melted chocolate center with vanilla ice cream. Truly a decadent treat. Service as always was incredibly professional and efficient.
We had a business dinner and everybody really enjoyed. The food is excellent. They have a good wine selection by the glass and also the bottles, different price range so everyone can find something good. The service and the atmosphere is lovely. Overall great experience and definitely will be back.
We enjoy the garden in the back of the townhouse. It's always pleasant and nice to be outdoors. The restaurant has a reasonable prix fix lunch. Soups are fresh daily and made at the restaurant. The pastas are delicious and made at the restaurant. They also do a great job with fish, particularly the salmon. Service is professional and friendly.
We enjoyed our dinner. The food is absolutely outstanding. The wait staff and the owner are extremely accommodating and helpful. Our friends who joined us for the dinner were so amazed with the food and happy that I helped them to find a new favorite restaurant. Altesi is absolutely a gem among many Italian restaurant in NYC. It offers delicious and the best quality food with the warm and professional service.
We love Altesi and it is one one of our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We have been coming here frequently since they opened and I must say it is always a wonderful experience. The food is fantastic, always fresh and authentic. The service is friendly and professional and they always try to accommodate your needs. If the weather is nice we love to be in the garden. We highly recommend Altesi to everyone looking for fine dinning experience.
The food was quite good but simply way over priced. A simple appetizer size dinner salad made primarily of lettuce was $18. While the portions were adequate for us, I am sure others would find the portions to be quite small. We were there at 8:15 on a Friday night, and the restaurant was deserted. By the time we finished, I believe there was only one other table with diners. The room was lovely, however, and because there were so few people there, we could easily carry on a conversation.
