Had a lovely dining experience. Great food, nice ambiance and service. This was our first time at this restaurant and would definitely go back again
I went to Altesi for Easter with my family and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and our servers were very attentive and friendly. I had the veal which was incredible and two in my party had different the bucatini and squid ink pasta, which they pined over the next day.
I've gone three times recently for lunch (2) and dinner (1). Each of the meals was outstanding. Service is professional and friendly. Can't wait til it's warm enough for the garden. Altesi is my new go-to Italian
Always a warm delicious spot for great authentic Italian service and cuisine.
Stylish, quiet, attentive. Easy to talk, never rushed.
absolutely the best Italian restaurant in the east side!!!!
We had a delicious lunch. The ravioli with brown butter and sage was terrific. The decor is lovely, and the service was perfect.
Very solicitous wait staff, very decent food. Quiet at Saturday lunch in the winter...
We ate there during Restaurant Week. The choices were excellent and the food was terrific. The noise level is a little high for my taste.
We shared three excellent courses. Braised artichoke hearts, squid ink pasta with red mussel sauce, and mixed seafood grill. Washed down with a terrific Pinot Bianco. Friendly staff, smart looking room with a small garden. They aren’t giving the food away for free. But the meal matched the price, around $70 a head, including espresso and chocolate cannoli
we certainly enjoyed getting to know this neighborhood gem while dining during Restaurant Week, Great way to meet the loals.
We came to Altesi for Restaurant Week because it was pretty close to the Breuer museum. The salad was interesting but not as good or better than others. The dressing was good. The calamari was very good. I ordered the lemon sole. The portion was minuscule. My companion had the ravioli which were lovely.
The apple tart dessert was good.
my 3rd and truly lovely meal at LTC. the food was lovely. dessert could have been a bit more interesting. ,The staff staff are attentive and in good humor. All in all, they made our get together a really pleasant afternoon. We shall return- restaurant week or no restaurant week!!
Terrific food.....creative menu; prepartion elegant and not 'over tghe top'......just right!
We absolutely love Altesi. The food was outstanding. For the appetizer we had salmon and octopus followed by authentic and perfectly done pastas. The decor is beautiful and the service warm and friendly. We will be back very soon!
Wonderful experience as always. When we arrived the restaurant was almost full. We got the table immediately. They offered the restaurant week menu which has some very nice choices. Great options for the value. Half of our party ordered from regular dinner menu and another half from the restaurant week menu. Everyone couldn't be happier. I love my octopus followed by their new ravioli filled with veal in a pistachio sauce. The service as always was wonderful and friendly. Even though servers were busy they managed to pay special attention to every table. And the owner Paolo who we know after coming to Altesi for a while already has always some nice story for us.
Service could use some improvement. Servers constantly reach over diners to deliver and clear plates and refill water.
Altesi has been our favorite restaurant for over 7 years!
The food is delicious! It is made with the freshest produce and carefully chosen ingredients. The team is amazing and very knowledgeable. The ambiance is very cozy and we love sitting on the terrace when it’s warm outside.
Perfect for everyday dining or a special occasion!
A must try is ‘carciofi alla giudia (grilled artichokes); polenta with asparagus; fresh made pappardelle with chanterelles AND tiramisu.
Restaurant Week Lunch.
Food ok, service good.
Too many other establishments in NYC.
Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were greeted by a less than friendly gentleman. It was restaurant week and our party of 6 all ordered from that menu. If it was not for that special offering, the value would be poor (reasonable food at unreasonable prices). The service was awful. First, we got the sense that the servers were uncomfortable and nervous. I ordered my salad without cheese but it arrived with cheese. After our waitress rudely reprimanded a server in the dining room, my salad was exchanged. One of the servers spilled a glass of wine all over one of the women in our party. His apology was barely audible. The waitress arrived and did replace the glass but she seemed more annoyed with the server than sincere in her apology. We thought that perhaps they would take the glass of wine off the bill, but they did not. Although the food was good, the service and attitude of the staff make for a less than enjoyable meal.
The lamb shank was excellent bbthe mushroom risotto needed a few more minutes to be al dente. Staff was very nice.
Food was excellent. A little pricey but we got a three course meal during restaurant week for $42 each. We all loved our food. It did get pretty loud but the tables are spread relatively far apart so you can hear others at your table. Definitely would recommend!!
Really enjoyed lunch at this small UES restaurant. HIghly recommend
Good friends invited us to dine here early in the week. We invited a couple to
dine the following day. The value from restaurant week gave us a wide range
of choices, but our friends at from the regular menu and the pasta and soup
is exceptional. The wine was very good value and created time to spend talking
catching up with friends. Our wait staff was outstanding. She got it right with
decanting the wine. The second course came very quickly and was well plated.
The bread and dip are exceptional.
We love Altesi. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We have been coming here since they opened and we always leave happy and satisfied. The portions are just right and the prices are reasonable.
Neighborhhood gem. Delicious inventive food, decor and great service. This time had restaurantcweek menu -all
options were dekicious.
What a great place. Good food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. How can you ask for more.
Delightful brunch/lunch with friends on a Sunday afternoon. Great pasta dishes and salads. Very attentive service.
Have been here before as we find a good value for finely prepared Italian cuisine. A nice quit upper East Side retreat just off Madison Avenue. Relaxing interior with a small courtyard at the far end. Definitely will return!
Must have been an off day. First time we went it was terrific. Food delicious and portions large. So we returned only to find small portions and ordinary food. For the high prices we expected more. Will return once more, but if not up to our original visit will not return. Too expensive for ordinary small portions.
A neighborhood place that is consistently good with friendly gracious service, lovely wines and a kitchen that will prepare anything you want anyway you want it!
We love coming to Altesi and it is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. The food is authentic and tasty. The atmosphere and service is great. We always recommend Altesi to friends and family and everyone loves it.
Altesi is a lovely warm and elegant restaurant. The food is wonderful and the staff are great. It's quiet and you can have a conversation!
The food was mediocre and overpriced. But at least one can talk there (restaurant was half-empty). Service was fine but they should improve the quality of the food.
Very good quality food.I can say one of the best Italian restaurants in the city.
Great place with great food and friendly service. The food is tasty, authentic, the atmosphere is welcoming and the overall experience is fantastic. We had another wonderful dinner and we will be back soon.
Great service and hospitality! Food was excellent, and it was obvious that the pasta was made fresh in house.
Food was very good. Service was excellent. Only drawback--must be high level in food--both my wife and I had trouble sleeping after this high level of salt.
We had Ana amazing experience and will be back again next year when we visit the city. Great find.
Excellent service and food was delicious. We had diner as a family and my two picky young daughters (11 & 14) ate everything with no complaints.
We had a great time at Altesi. The food was outstanding. For the appetizer we had salmon and octopus followed by authentic and perfectly cooked pasta. The decor is beautiful and the service warm and friendly. We definitely will be back soon.
