Viola was an amazing server and made our dining experience very special!
Thia place is not trendy or flashy but authentic with class.
Good food. Attentive service. Quiet enough for conversation during dinner. A little pricey but in line with local restaurants.
Good for all occasion
Great decor - beautiful and calm
Altesi is a great find. Very attractive; calm, welcoming ambience. Superb food at a recent lunch. Enthusiastically recommend.
This really is a superb restaurant in every dimension. I have eaten there 3 times and intend to become a regular.
The best Italian food I have eaten. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Good neighborhood restaurant. It's easy to become recognized as a client. Staff is really nice.
this is a quiet restaurant with reasonably good food. More for those who like to converse and not have their ears hurt. Food was very good, not great, good enough considering it was quiet...
Pretty restaurant. Food excellent. No energy (vibe) at all. Service very good. Thursday night at 7:30, most tables unoccupied. The bar empty. They need to get the word out.
Our first visit to Altesi. Food was great, service was gracious, and wine list was both excellent and reasonably priced. After nights of going to various overly loud and overly expensive restaurants around town during our annual visit, it was a slice of heaven to dine at Altesi and enjoy conversation without shouting while eating a truly lovely meal.
Good food - nice place for lunch for some delicious Italian fare. Good selection of wines available. We just had Panini's for lunch and they were delicious. Service was pleasant and not rushed which made for a very relaxing lunch. Chairs are pretty comfortable as well .. I would have like to tried some of the pasta and salads which looked really delicious. next time...
We’ve been going to this location since they opened. Have only been for dinner.
Always a pleasant experience. Staff cheerful. They recall faces, if not names. Food delicious and a good wine list. Nice quaint bar.
It was a hot night and I was looking for a good excuse not to cook. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner with excellent food, lovely wine and attentive service.
Table was ready when we got there, even though we were a little early. Fantastic food and service. Definitely a do-over!
Food and service is top notch.
We tried this restaurant during restaurant week. The food was fabulous and tge service was great!!! I highly recommend this place.
Excellent job. We were extremely pleased and have recommended it to our foodie friend
The staff is attentive, caring and friendly. The food was delicious. Went for Restaurant Week. Will definitely return
In our neighborhood...often take friends. Always dependable with very good to excellent food, large wine selection, and excellent service.
Food was amazing. Excellent service. The place is beautiful and classy
Consistently great in every category- food excellent and quiet ambiance for conversation.
Nice place to eat the food was great and our hostess was very attentive
Outstanding in every way. We came with group of friends for the restaurant week menu which was great. I must say it was one of the best restaurant week menu option that I have ever tried. Food was delicious and the service wonderful. I can’t wait to return and introduce more friends to this special place.
We celebrated birthday at this truly lovely restaurant. Food was amazing and the service warm and professional. The decor is beautiful and elegant. It was just perfect experience from beginning to end.
Lovely Restaurant Week experience, attractive setting, quiet. But regular menu is overpriced.
Small portions. Three small meatballs with a small lump of salty salad for an appetizer was disappointing. Portions of everything served were small. Wine was ridiculously overpriced. $16 for a glass of rose is an insult. We felt totally ripped off. The restaurant had very few occupied tables, so I suspect other people must feel the same way we did. I don't suggest to anyone to eat at this restaurant when there are so many good ones to choose from.
It was my the first visit this restaurant and I was nice surprised. The food is excellent, we tried sea food, pasta, mozzarella and everything tasted so good! I will definitely come back!
We were there with little children and it`s a shame that they do not have crayons at least...
Extensive wine list, and the best scallops I have ever eaten!
This was our first time at Altesi and looking forward to returning. Food was fabulous, service excellent and nice and quiet. On a nice evening you can dine outside in their garden.
A neighborhood gem! The food and service are excellent.
pleasant spot, hidden away there is outdoor seating in a faux garden area pleasant
Altesi has become a favorite neighborhood restaurant of ours. Nice people, good food, easy and a pleasure
Great Italian restaurant! I took my girlfriend for her birthday there and everything went perfect. We sit down in the garden located in the back of the restaurant hidden from the noise of the NYC streets. The food was outstanding. We order octopus perfectly tender and burrata. For the main course we had ravioli with veal in pistachio sauce and salmon. We enjoyed every bite and at the end we had i must say one of the best tiramisu i have ever tried. We absolutely loved our dinner and we will be back very soon!
We love Altesi and it is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We have been coming here frequently since they opened and I must say it is always a wonderful experience. The food is fantastic, always fresh and authentic. The service is friendly and professional and they always try to accommodate your needs. If the weather is nice we love to sit outside in the garden area. We highly recommend Altesi to everyone looking for fine dinning experience.
We loved Altesi. I travel a lot for business in Italy and I must say the food at Altesi is same as good as the best restaurants in Italy. We had a party of six and everyone loved their dishes. I had cured salmon with the cucumber and apple to start and it was fantastic followed by an excellent, perfectly cooked papardelle pasta with chanterelle mushroom. So if you don't want to travel as far as Italy for the great, authentic food go to Altesi and you will love it.
Plain awful. Everything about this restaurant was awful. The place was empty--which should have scared us off. We were foolish and wrong to stay. We were seated at a table in the restaurant's faux garden, which was no garden at all--no flowers, no grass, just a makeshift backroom with a noisy air conditioner. We asked for a corner table (usually reserved for 4)--there were only two of us--but there were plenty of tables because the place was, except for the two of us, EMPTY. The waitress seemed to have an attitude when we asked for a different table. The menu was negligibly "Italian." So, I ordered "safe", just roast chicken; it came with spinach. I specified that the meals should be served piping hot. The entrees came lukewarm, at best. My chicken was dry and tasteless. It came with no potatoes, no rice, no pasta even. Just a sliver of spinach. My friend's more "Italian" entree meal (a pasta) was not even edible--most of it was left on her plate. It, too, did not come piping hot, as I had specifically requested. My appetizer--some kind of spinach salad--was not leafy nor much of a salad. It, too, was tasteless. We both skipped desssert (which I never do), because the food (appetizers and entress) were so bad; so, we decided not to even try a dessert. Everything was very expensive, including alcohol, and food portions were tiny, which was OK only because the meals were inedible. Word to the wise: FUGGGETABOUT IT if you want genuine or authentic Italian--or even attractive and appetizing food. The worst dining experience this year, to date. Costly, and deplorable in every way. Needs a new chef, new wait staff, real garden, and an attentive management. This place gets an "F."
It was too expensive for what it was.
the food was good but very small portion
Altesi is only 5 blocks away from where we live so that makes it a neighborhood restaurant..........but it's much more than that. It's a place with terrific food where the young woman who looks after us is a delight and the crowd is a more than a neighborhood crowd. I particularly like their chicken..........something they do that I've never had before. I also like their soups so that's it for me.......soup and chicken. In the end, it's the gestalt and we love it.
Always amazing food, service unpretentious and very attentive especially compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. You are treated as a customer not as a number.
Very warm and welcoming staff.
