Another wonderful dinner at Altesi. I have been there a few times already and it is always great. We love the food, it’s always fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is warm and the service very attentive. I recommend it to everyone looking for a great Italian restaurant.
We had a business lunch there and everything was perfect. The food was tasty and very well flavored. The wine list has nice selection and the service is friendly and professional. Everyone really enjoyed.
This is my second time at altesi. The service and menu and hostess and atmosphere are all wonderful. My only negative are the prices. Albeit Ues, it’s a little high The restaurant week. Offer was reasonable. The regular menu is too high
Food was horrible. “Roasted” chicken was really just boiled. Everything had absolutely no taste, perhaps the chef himself has no tastebuds.
Dear Customer You made your own dish due to your limitation: no dressing, no salt, no chives, no garlic, no onions. Basically you changed completely the dish and our flavor. Additionally you ate 2/3 of the chicken and you made comment we should remove from the check. Sorry for the restaurants who failed into this kind of game but I will not be one of them. Thank you Paolo
Thank you Altesi for a wonderful dinner and Valentine’s celebration. The food, wine and service were amazing, we look forward to dining there again.
I love italian food but my favorite restaurant is Altesi and owners is amazing person I was there for Valentine’s Day he came to us and he asked how’s everything
Not bad, but not as good as previous years. There was nothing special about any of the dishes and quite pricey!!
Salmon tasted very fishy. Not fresh.
Great restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. We love coming here and always recommend the place to our friends.
We had a great dinner at Altesi. I went with the group of friends to celebrate my Birthday and everything was wonderful. The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. They have a good wine selection with wide price range so everyone can find something to please them.
Waitress had an attitude
We ordered the salmon and lamb shank
which were both delicious, cooked to perfection. The ambiance is lovely and the service was excellent!
Very nice restaurant
Altesi, at 64th Street near Madison Avenue, was wonderful. I enjoyed delicious polenta with mushrooms, shredded greens and balsamic vinegar for the appetizer; sea bream with roasted cauliflower for the entree; and although not included in the Restaurant Week special, tiramisu for dessert. All were outstanding. Atmosphere and service were also excellent.
I just loved having sunday lunch there. Loved that it hd enough space and their ragu was wonderful!
We were underwhelmed on arrival when directed to a rail to hang up our coats despite three members of staff being there. The food was undoubtedly well flavoured but one dish was undercooked and tepid. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the staff were attentive but disinterested when we gently mentioned about the food.
Dear Sir You and two ladies had a dinner. Your wife said the pasta is hard which immediately we explained to you that the pasta is cooked al dented and we offered you to cook pasta over. You refused and you said it’s fine. It is unfair to say that we did not react to your comments. Thank you Paolo
Staff wonderful helped friend with walker. Very eager to help. The food wonderful
What a find! Occasionally I need a place to dine in the mid-60s off fifth and have found most of the restaurants very loud and not conducive to a quiet conversation and a dining experience. Altesi is that and more.
The hostess and owner were charming and welcoming, the menu was diverse and the food was made to perfection We had the restaurant week special with carpaccio, salmon, roast chicken, and two fabulous deserts. Service was impeccable and the ambience is friendly cozy warm upscale
Yet reasonable and not stuffy for an upper east side establishment
Plan to return soon even if I don’t have an occasion to be on the upper east side
Went for restaurant week. Place was about half-full on a Sunday in January. Hostess was polite and seated us promptly after allowing us to hang our coats on the coat rack by the front door. Ambience was quiet and classy with tame conversation throughout the dining room. Server(s) were attentive during our entire visit. Food was incredibly delicious, including the insalata di zucca, burrata, mushroom truffle risotto, and grilled salmon. I recommend this restaurant.
Our first time dining at Altesi and were very pleased. The person who greeted us was lovely and turned out to be the owner. Our server was just beyond amazing. It was restaurant week and the menu was varied, several options and each was delicious. Will definitely return.
Altesi is a gem. Great place for a quiet business lunch, good food, great service, and ambiance. Gabriella is such a charming hostess!
A real surprise, as we didn’t even know this restaurant existed. Went here for Restaurant Week lunch, and loved everything we are, as did our friends. Excellent cacio e pepe pasta, delicious Caesar salad, and very nice pounded breast of chicken with arugula and balsamic vinaigrette. Lovely service, and a very pleasant atmosphere in the room itself. We will definitely go back.
Amazing food, service and ambiance
The brunch was very good but the American coffee was terrible. You must find a new vendor or coffee brand for regular coffee.
Pasta lovers - your life is not complete until you've visited Altesi. Lovingly and artistically prepared - a jewel in the Italian foodie crown. And, there's a rare wine list. Even if you can't afford them, you'll enjoy reading the labels and feeling delightfully indulgent -- all the while enjoying a bottle of moderately priced Montepulciano. Ambiance is great and the staff is professional, attentive, cheerful, and very well informed.
Very welcoming. Excellent wine list and innovative take on classic Italian. Wide range of choices. Attentive yet non intrusive service
Great spot on the UES. Food is consistently outstanding and the setting is perfect...contemporary, warm and relaxing. I have been there many times. Pastas are great, and my favorite entree is the halibut. Trio of creme brûlée is a great finish.
The food and Ambience is outstanding. We have been to this restaurant many times and it just seems to get better each time. This is a quant neighborhood place!
After a long day of shopping & visiting Rockefeller Center, this was a fabulous find! Several places in the area that we were familiar with were booked, and I am so happy we came upon Altesi Ristorante for a delicious finale to a beautiful day. Service was impeccable, food was superb! We ordered beef Carpaccio, Gnocchi with Duck ragout, Homemade tagliatelle with crab, and Salmon with lentils. All absolute perfection! We will definitely be visiting Altesi again in the future!
Delicious Italian food, great ambiance and staff! It’s our favorite!
Gabriella lovely, nice atmosphere, like the daily specials and good food! Quiet!
Altesi is a wonderful, civilized place to go for dinner----the food is simple, fresh, excellent. Staff is delightful. Great place for a quiet dinner with friends or even someone who has a hard time in loud, annoying restaurants. We love this place!!
Outstanding food, lovely service, never too noisy
beautiful room, excellent food and service. I will be back
Another great dinner at Altesi. The food, service and the ambiance always delightful. Altesi keeps the standards high and that’s why we always love there!
Sunday night chef and food dreary day
Food was good, but server was unhelpful and had an attitude.
Dear Amy My waiter does not have attitude and only follows the rules. We do not allow refills of any soda and I am sorry for misjudgment. Thank you Paola
Wonderful, as always.
Excellent ambiance, service, food. We'll be back! Thank you.
