excellent meal and service. Highly recommended. Thanks
Amazing food and service! My wife and I are 100% going back. Steak frites and salmon dish were great. Going for the rack of lamb and scallops next!
Maybe the surf n turf….
The food snd service last night were amazing! We sat on the sidewalk and it would have been perfect if there was a space heater - very chilly last night. We loved our dinner and will be back very soon!
Food was delicious but the scallop entree is more like an appetizer in terms of portion size. I was definitely still hungry after eating it.
Great food. Friendly service. Safe eating experience. We hadn’t been out in a very long time and this dinner felt like a safe indulgence.
Altaeats consistently offers amazing salads, small plates, and entrees. Highly recommend the steak toasts! My husband loves the jerk chicken with coconut rice. We dined on NYE here in 2020, little did we know it would be our last great supper out for a long time to come. Of course we did some curbside pick up throughout the year, but are so glad to be back. The chef's interpretation of California cuisine is truly special. The restaurant can be difficult to find as it does not have a visible sign and it can look dark from the street at night, but once you enter the ambiance it quite charming!
The food was so good! Just catching up with friends. A lovely meal.
The food and service were outstanding. We will be back… often
We ate outdoors. The food was excellent as was the service. But I got a little cool toward the end of the meal.
We loved the beet salad and the beef Wellington. The apple "tart" was deliciously seasoned (cinnamon, cardamom) tiny cubes of apples in a puff pastry crust.
This was a “date night” for my wife and I. We had been wanting to eat here for quite awhile but due to Covid we had scaled back on dining out. Overall the experience was very good except my wife’s risotto was a little bit too al dente. I tried the weise NA beer and was underwhelmed and I’m not a fan of stouts or porters so an NA IPA would be nice. We’ll be back!!
Not the best place for vegetarians, there is only a salad on the menu as a vegetarian or vegan option. The Beef Wellington was yummy. Everyone liked their meals.
A wonderful gem. The food is creative and delicious! Servers friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Thank you
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant, that is not in Old Pasadena. Great food, good service and nice location.
Great! Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Thank you!
Good food and good service! Such a lovely small restaurant, a real hometown welcoming feel. The Beef Wellington and lamb chops were very tasty!
Excellent food, wine, and service. Ask them to reconfirm you’re checked in. Open Table reached out to tell me the restaurant said I was a no-show. Had to provide receipt info and meals ordered to convince restaurant I honored reservation. Otherwise, great evening!
This was our second time there and we plan to go there often. Excellent food and presentation. The service was also outstanding
Going to Alta Eats is always a treat. Every item is delicious but this time we tried the steak toast appetizer that was one of the yummiest things I've ever eaten. The chocolate lava cake was incredible. Love this hidden gem!
A great neighborhood find! Food was excellent. I had rack of lamb, my husband had grilled scallops. Limited menu, about 5-6 entrees plus a couple of specials, nice appetizers.
Restaurant is small, seats 50 or less; tables are a bit close together and lighting is bright so not for a romantic liaison, but feels cozy. We sat inside but there are a few outside tables available.
Staff are very attentive and helpful.
No signage on the outside and in an unlikely location, just a few small commercial businesses on the block. Make sure you take the address with you as you won't find it otherwise!
Perfect for what we were looking for on a casual, early Friday meal. Been there before and knew exactly what to expect.
Local, small and quiet, this is our "go to" choice for perfectly prepared and presented dishes and reasonable pricing. Great wines and beers as well! (incl. highly-rated obscure N/A beers).
The food here is SO GOOD! Noise levels were high when we arrived but the hostess offered us differing seating options to accommodate. We ate outside - which was just right.
Everything was very satisfactory, food was outstanding the rest is Awesome, I’ll go there more often
Fabulous dining experience! We wanted to try some place new and using opentable chose Alta eats. Drive from Toluca Lake was less tha 20 minutes. Restaurant was modern but cozy. Reception friendly. Entrees excellent quality and so tasty. Like being in a semi private kitchen. Wine list was a nice selection. Don't forget to have the apple tart- the best! We will be back..
Great service and amazing food! I can’t wait to come back.
The food is always amazing! Service excellent! Great double date night. Ohh and the apple tart! Order 2!!
First time back after pandemic. Just as we remembered.
Thanks for a great meal Chef!
Wonderful experience. Felt like you were dining at a friends home
The food was delicious and we enjoyed a number of tasty appetizers and entrees. The bacon wrapped dates, the warm bread with honey butter, and the filet mignon toast were among my favorites. A special shout out goes to Elijah who made my delicious wedge salad into a chopped salad and to Laurel our friendly server 😀
It was our first time at Altaeats and everything we ordered was phenomenal! We started out with the bread & butter and the buffalo brussel sprouts. There were 2 different flavors of butter, chive and cinnamon honey, and they were both amazing. The bread was also warm and soft. The brussel sprouts were perfectly caramelized with the buffalo flavor. For my entree, I got the roasted cauliflower and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The tahini on the cauliflower was refreshing, and I couldn’t get enough of the mashed potatoes. My boyfriend got the ribeye and said it was great too. The service was very attentive. All in all, it was a great dinner and we look forward to returning!
Great good and venue. The only complaint I have is the waitress worn a tank top with her breasts hanging out. It made us super uncomfortable.
Food was amazing as usual. Glad to have chef Paul back in the kitchen. Worth making your way up to the foothills of Pasadena.
We started the evening at Altadena Beverage next door getting the lowdown on wines. We picked a white and a red Cotes du Rhone to share and got the magic cork. Then over to Altaeats. We did the outdoor seating. Staff was attentive. Food came quickly and was delicious. There was 4 of us. Salads, lamb, duck and scallops were had. All perfectly cooked and tasty. The apple tarts were flaky and flavorful.
Always a treat!
We ate on the patio for the first time. Turned out our worries about the traffic on Allen, but it was quiet. The food and service were exceptional as always. Come and support this neighborhood gem!
Food was great. We love this little local gem.thank you
Food was delicious. Recommend the Beef Wellington.
Always good here. The wedge salad, of all things, rocks. Only quibble is the pours on the wines by the glass were light, and a bit warmish
