Good food. Great service and a million dollar view at a fair price.
Everything was satisfactory......good but no longer very good to great....the portions are smaller and the Wagu steak was way over marinated/seasoned....something one does with a tough cheaper cut of beef! It was not that busy but we had to wait a long time for service!?? We will return but not as often .
The service could be better. The food had interesting concepts but the delivery wasn’t there. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality and delivery.
The food is amazing here and the atmosphere even when it’s raining is wonderful. Highly recommend!
The happy hour menu food was fine and the service was great. The meal in the dining room was not so good. may return for happy hour someday, but definitely not the dinner menu.
Really lovely service and delicious food!
Service was good. Food was good. Drinks were good. Everything was good but not great. Overall it was a nice experience.
Great views, very clean and wait staff were very attentive.
Our waiter was inattentive with us - never once asked how the meal was - and at one point tossed the menus on the table so we could preview dessert options as he rushed off to another table. All the staff seemed rushed and were very impersonal. The salad we shared was delicious. We ordered 2 of the dinner specials: pan seared salmon. Both of us agreed that the meal was not worth the hefty $30 price per plate. The salmon was fishy tasting and did not pair well with the other flavors - like cranberry - on the plate. Very disappointing service, meal, and overall experience.
While I did like the view, our server was awful. Very inattentive. Took forever for him to greet me. Didn't ask if I wanted an alternative to the drink they didn't have. He never picked up our bill. Had to ask another waitstaff to run our cards. That person WAS nice.
Pretentious and lackluster...
The view is amazing, the food was fine and so was the service. But the NOISE!! It was painfully loud. I was looking forward to a good visit, but it was impossible.
Great food and atmosphere with friendly service. Knowledgeable bar staff regarding the beers on tap.
We had reservations for two but we were 15 minutes late due to bad traffic. When we checked in with the host, it was no problem! He seated us right away even though the place was crowded. We were surprised when our waitress turned out to be someone we knew. Food and drinks came relatively quickly and we had a good experience.
Went with a party of 8. Service was terrific. Views were terrific. Food was good. Only complaint is our 1 GF person had a very hard time being accommodated. I was hoping to come back next month with the same group but she veto'd it. Too bad. Otherwise, highly recommended!
French fries as an appetizer were not very good. We think we got the remains of batch not nice cut fries. Otherwise food was fine.
Fun place. Pretty busy usually and was again last Friday night, but our server was so excellent. Dude was attentive and helpful and helped make my daughter’s belated birthday night special. Food was solid and drinks exceptional.
Had prior reservations to arriving. Due to MODA popular concert, the tavern was packed. They tried to seat my party of 2 & had some delay in doing so. They should have had more wait staff as once seated it took 20 minutes to get our initial drink order. Then another 10 min. to take our food order meaning we were already seated 30 min. before order taken. Because we observed orders were taking an extraordinary amount of delivery time, we ordered soup and salad. That took another 20 minutes to delivery rushing us to meet our concert time.
Food and drinks generally excellent, as is their Happy Hour. Volume is not generally as crowded but mgmt should anticipate and plan staff both wait and kitchen prep accordingly.
The Tavern was fantastic! The food was marvelous! It did seem a bit short staffed because it took too long to get our drinks.
Great food and staff Will go back Will tell friends
Overall very good and consistent food. My favorite server Heather is great. Reasonable corkage fees.
Food and service was good but it was pretty noisy to carry on conversation.
My steak was good and so were the Brussels sprouts. Potatoes were cold. Service was mostly MIA.
Service was horrible
The restaurant has a nice ambiance and classy without having to dress up. The waiters were very respectful and accommodating.
BEST Tuna Nicoise salad I've ever had. Beautiful ambience and fantastic server! I'll be back!
Great service, food was good. The tables are close together, but you can have a conversation and not feel like you are yelling at each other. Would go back.
Good food. Good service interesting menu. A bit pricey
Outstanding beer selection and truly excellent food. I had a wonderful time here. The place is quite loud - and I think maybe it is meant to be. The view was terrific. Service was good, not great. Overall, I give it a very high recommendation.
Consistently a great spot to dine. I always know I can bring guests to Altabira and we will have an excellent experience.
Came here with 12 friends for my birthday. The service was good - they were ready right when we came in and sat us at a table with a nice view. It did somewhat feel like we were crammed into a corner of the restaurant, though. The food was sub-par. Not nearly as good as I’d expected...the flavors just weren’t there. Bland & unrefined. For this reason I won’t be coming back, there are many places with much better food in Portland. Expected more for the price. Drinks were delish.
Starters and entrees were impressive. We had a group of 5 with a cross section of both. Service was excellent and we are planning to come back.
Every single dish from appetizer thru dessert was delicious... over the top delicious!
Less than impressed. We had reservations as we were celebrating a birthday with friends from out of town. I had made a point to call in advance day of to arrange to have a bottle of champagne waiting at the table when we arrived. Since the restaurant didn’t open until 4pm, I left a message as the greeting instructed to do. When we arrived, our table was not ready which also meant, no champagne at the table. I had discreetly excused myself to notify the host to please have a bottle delivered. He told me price, which I hadn’t asked, I confirmed and 10 mins later our waiter arrives empty handed and asked the table if we had asked for brut. I gave him a look to carry-on and bring to table. So much for that surprise. The whole experience was unprofessional and awkward. The night did not improve. Grossly understaffed and extremely long wait time. We easily could have spent more on cocktails, but our server was spread so thin.
I booked in advance and requested a window table for quiet and more privacy yet was told on arrival that no window tables were available. What’s the point if advance booking and return visits if you can’t be accommodated?
Everything was great for our mother/daughter dinner before a concert. We had a wonderful experience and server!
We went to Altibira for a birthday. The wait staff was slow, unfriendly and they don’t even do anything for Birthdays! Would not recommend this place if you are wanting good service or to celebrate any special occasion. Will not be returning.
Unfortunately the lobster risotto was without a hint of lobster and the short ribs, while delicious were served Luke warm. The view is great!
I would recommend the rooftop bar. The night we ate in the dining room. it was busy. Our waitress was not very attentive. Service was slow.
Excellent experience! Altabira provided delicious food & excellent service at our celebratory group lunch (12 at our table). I will be back!
Good news: The good views of Downtown Portland, the Convention Center, and the West Hills are mostly NOT diminished by the tall, newly-constructed convention center hotel.
The food and libations menus are as inviting as ever.
