It was happy hour and the server seemed weirded out that we didn’t want food and only drinks. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and he never came back to the table. Still tipped really well but pretty confused.
A very pleasant surprise. Will certainly try to go back.
One of my favorite restaurants! We celebrated Mother’s Day and our son’s Grad School graduation!
I am used to good Italian food and it looks like it COULD have been good, only everything was burnt to a crisp. The chicken parm was burned badly and the broccoli sides were charred and burnt badly. I should have sent it back and asked for a new one not burnt to a crisp. Pretty strange. The only reason I would go back would be to try the same plate (I like parm) and see if it tastes good unburned up.
The food was excellent! The ambiance was nice and serene. Me and my family enjoyed the Atmosphere
Get the Caccio e pepe and definitely the garlic bread. I'd skip the drinks, nothing special.
Excellent good and service!
Amazing service staff was super friendly. I had the Bianca pizza it was amazing. I wish they had some more pasta options on the menu though.
Really solid dining experience. Very quick service, quiet but social atmosphere, and great food. Started off with meatballs and garlic bread that were fantastic. Entrees were chicken Parmesan and baked ziti, also good. Desert was splendid, cannolis and chocolate cake. Highly recommend!
Great food - had the dessert and pizza. Would recommend going! Pizza is Neapolitan style - good amount of cheese and sauce.
Nice outdoor seating on a beautiful afternoon. Our starters (meatballs and arugula salad) were tasty. I was very disappointed by the clam pasta dish. I was picturing spaghetti vongole, which I’ve had there before. This was something else. Pink crabmeat in a red pepper sauce with breadcrumbs on top. Odd taste and texture combo, IMHO! Fortunately my husband was willing to share his delicious margarita pizza. They did kindly remove the pasta dish from the bill.
Alta strada always delivers quality pasta dishes, TRY THE SHRIMP SCAMPI APPETIZER! its divine.
It was just okay. The food was mediocre (I remember it being better). It’s far from my house and not worth the travel but might be fine if you live in the same neighborhood.
Really need to allow cork fee again. The wine list is limited This the only restaurant I frequent that says “no because of covid” which needs to be adjusted as only one I know of who hasn’t allowed back.
Bring back corkage fee!!
The service was perfect. The drinks were good and the food was fresh and well seasoned. I understand why but I wish the were a few more menu items- calamari, francaise, spaghetti sides. But loved it and will return.
We dined outside which worked very well...very attentive staff and helpful with our selections...very safe experience and delicious food.
Very nice outdoor ambiance. Unfortunately no more happy hour available, however.
I get that covid times suck but the service was remarkably slow. My second time at this restaurant and so far two strikes.
Best penne with vodka sauce around! And their gluten free pasta is outstanding as well!
Very good food, but the service seemed somewhat rushed. It may be because of the pandemic, but more than once we had to ask our server for more time eating and drinking.
Do not recommend. Food was particularly greasy and not well seasoned. Bianca pizza we ordered didn’t have any rosemary, just cheese.
We were comped a dessert, which was greatly appreciated, but were not consulted and were presented a dish to which we were allergic. Not so great an experience.
Service was great!
The food was not great. I could name better Italian restaurants in DC, but this worked for the occasion. The food wasn't horrible; there is just better in the area.
Loved the environment and service. Will definitely come back.
Alta Strada's outdoor dining set up is really well done. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our experience during Winter Restaurant week very much. We split a bottle of the house red, which was delicious. The cauliflower in brown butter and breadcrumbs appetizer was outstanding and worth going back for. Our main courses were large portions, not a given during restaurant week so much appreciated by us, and both the penne alla vodka and baked ziti were very delicious. The tiramisu I had for dessert was absolutely divine, and so big I brought half home! My boyfriend enjoyed his chocolate cake with caramel sauce, and despite calling it "very rich" he finished the entire portion. We were plenty warm with the heaters going, I took off my winter coat and sat there in just my sweater, jeans, and sneakers. The servers were attentive, the three courses didn't come out too quickly, and we had a lovely time.
This was the second time we've been here- it can get a bit pricey but it's well worth it! The food is always delicious, the staff is kind and great at anticipating the guests' needs. I'll definitely have to start ordering takeout from here as well (especially the pizzas! Life changing!). Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was our first, but it certainly won't be our last. Thank you to the host who accommodated us after being late for our reservation. The waiter/servers were all courteous and anticipated our needs well. The contactless menu was definitely a plus. Service was timely and no lapses in being served. Ambiance was very nice. Noise level was moderate but respectful. The chocolate cake was my favorite food from the whole meal!! I can't wait to try it again!
Complimentary Bread would be nice. Would like to return and try it again
Great customer service and excellent food!!!!!
Staff was careful with food preparation due to my food allergy. Very attentive on how they prepared my food and let me know what I could/could not have. My meal was delicious and safe for me. Everyone was friendly and practicing safety protocols. Already recommended to family and friends!
Delicious food, good prices, great service, nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps. Definitely recommend!
food was delicious, we had a pizza, crab pasta and ziti all well prepared, for dessert we had the cannoli, it was super good.
The hostess very attentive, my husband drop some pasta sauce on his shirt and she gave him something to clean it.
Chicken pam was lack of flavor other than the taste of sauce. Cannoli was very plain, I wonder if the chef even tasted the cannoli, it was oily, dry and not even sweet. I think it was the worst dessert I have ever gotten in a restaurant.
The service was very good, I will give it a five star for the service.
Fantastic! What lovely wait staff and the food was unbelievable. My hubby and I shared the meatballs and also Brussel sprout apps (paired with Prosecco and a vodka martini). The sprouts are perfectly crispy and the meatballs are airy yet substantial. Oh, and that red sauce with burrata - we destroyed it. Perhaps so much so as the main entrees were also very hefty! The rigatoni bolognese is masterful and the hint of Rosemary made them divine. The short ribs could feed all the Flintstones! Suffice it to say we have a lot of leftovers. It paired well with the Tuscan which was reasonably priced.
The staff - super attentive without being annoying. Hard to balance outdoors in the era of Covid. As we were almost leaving, I let it slip (when asked if we’d been here before) that we were out celebrating my bday. Within 2 seconds, they brought us out a delicious tiramisu and more Prosecco. A wonderful way to end the meal.
The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. I look forward to trying it again.
Bday! Thank you ... you guys are doing awesome during COVID times
Food was okay. Service was awesome. Brunch menu needs sprucing up.
Great food and atmosphere! Wish the patio was larger and more comfortable
There was a guest who kept coughing and it was very disturbing. We asked to move further away and the staff was wonderful in helping to coordinate.
Great food. Great service. Great drinks that came in a timely manner. Outdoor seating was very nice. Food was excellent
The outdoor seating is great. They set up tents, so it's okay even if it was raining when we went.
