We went on Sunday! No one called to tell us it was closed. We showed up with 12 people. Very poor. We went to Mastoris instead.

I would like to know how we could of booked an it was closed?

Our group of 6 to 9 retired ladies enjoy trying new spots to lunch and Alstarz is one of our often visited lunch spots. Food is more than ample and great. We will be back again.

We went Sunday for Easter Brunch. The amount of food was amazing, there were lots of options for everyone. The only disappointment was the seafood selection. There was a "shrimp" stir fry with barely any shrimp and the one fish entree was tilapia which was overcooked and hard as rock and had no flavor. We probably will choose to go to KC Prime brunch in the future, for a little bit more money the seafood selection is much better there.

My family and I went to Easter Brunch; nine of us on a very busy day!
Our table was ready for us immediately. Service was very good, a very attentive young lady.
Food was plentiful and quite a variety. Drinks were very reasonable.
A good time was had by all.

Not a good restaurant to be associated with OpenTable. It's a sports bar, plain and simple, and the table service was just awful. Hostess couldn't be bothered, server was not friendly at all, food was mediocre at best (salad was tolerable, rib eye was as thin as prosciutto), and seating was dingy and uncomfortable. Can't recommend as a restaurant. Bar looked fun and lively, should have just sat there.

This is a great place to come if you want to watch any game playing. They have multiple games on the plethora of TVs they have all around the restaurant. The food was pretty good. I went for the half off appetizers. Chicken fingers were a good portion. And battered very well. I returned the spinach dip it wasnt as flavorful as i thought it would be.

Coming from being a server of 7 years I just have to let people know what a disappointment this place was. I had made a reservation for 20 people for my boyfriends birthday surprise When we arrived I noticed the table was only set for 17. Although all of the 20 people did not come the point was that I had asked for a table of 20 to be. After we sat our drink orders where taken and we waited about 25 minutes to receive them in all fairness our waiter was extremely busy and the place was packed however even just 20 minutes to receive a beverage is completely unnecessary. Once our drinks came we had ordered an app the fried calamari which was delicious and came out relatively fast 15 minutes later. As well as requesting for the tv nearest to be turned to the ufc fight and were told no problem. The app was dropped off at the table by a separate waiter and we waited another 20 minutes looking for our server who was no where to be found. After waiting a total of about 35 40 minutes for our server not counting the one who dropped off the app I flagged down a woman walking by and asked if we could order more drinks and start our dinner order also asked about the fights being turned on again. She took our drink order and 5 mins later our server showed up with them and took our dinner order. Dinner came out at a normal expected wait time. One of our guests ordered a rare steak which happened to come out med well and it had to be sent back only to get a new one still overcooked. While exchanging the steak we had to ask for the fight to be turned on as it still was not on. With the exception of the one overcooked steak the food was great. I really wish the service was better. The fight was finally turned on as we were boxing our food to leave and paying for our meals. To wait as long as we did for our food and drinks and the tv situation I was very upset with the service and will not be back. I did not feel like a valued customer. Horrible service and not just the waiters fault

Needs improvement on overall service to customers. Waited too long for a menu for a party of six (20 minutes). Been routing for this place for a long time but its doesn't seem to have the backing to promote customers to dine/or have cocktails. Might want to reconsider a more serious marketing strategy in reducing cost to promote business.

What a great find for Sunday brunch! The food was delicious, hot and plentiful on the buffet. A nice variety too., with breakfast and lunch offerings, made-to-order omelets, pastries and fresh fruit. The chafing dishes were constantly being refilled - even the manager helped out! Our server was attentive, refilling our soup bowl sized coffee cups with a smile.

The lines were long for the breakfast portion. As soon as I sampled the other food I realized why. The items at the carving station were overcooked and dry. The hot food station was horrendous. The wine wasn't cooked off in the masala dish the stuffing/dressing was soggy. The best part was the dessert bar. If not for that, those in our party that didn't want to eat breakfast would have left hungry.

Went for New Years Eve dinner with friends. Not much of a crowd at all, we weren't too pleased where they sat us (far corner in the back) especially with hardly anyone in the place. Made it a little difficult to see the bowl games on the TV's. Really just had a few apps, salads, and burgers. Food and drinks were good, service was friendly. Would definately go back again but think I enjoy the place more for sporting events at the bar with the guys then a dinner out with the ladies.

The eggs and pancakes were cold. The turkey was covered in a light colored gravy that is not my favorite. there wasn't a good choice of vegetables and the stuffing didn't taste good. They cleared the dessert area before we got a chance to have anything, and we weren't asked if we wanted any coffee. Not a good experience..

The restaurant scene between Princeton, West Windsor, Hightstown, East Windsor and vicinity is a bit frustrating after a while. Lots of Chinese restaurants and pizza shops. A handful of Indian restaurants. Too much fast food. A couple of the currently trendy more expensive chains, like Seasons 52, have opened recently, and there are a handful of higher end solo restaurants around Princeton itself. It got to the point where our family was finding the choices a bit tedious, and have taken to visiting one of the half dozen diners in the area, so we'd at least have choices that could meet the diverse interests of family members. Eventually, though, diners get to be pretty mediocre and tedious as well.

We remembered Alstarz being not too far off, jumped on Open Table, and snagged a reservation at the last minute. As expected from a Sports Bar on a Friday night, it was loud. But we were seated immediately. The service was excellent, everything clean and in good condition, and the menu offered some nice variety for a change.

Drinks were very good - good choice of beers, and we sampled a few of their special martinis - also good. Buffalo wings offered good variety, and the sauces were tasty (we tried a few). The wings themselves were a mixed lot: some very good, some overdone and a bit dry. The nachos with chicken were pretty good -- not the very best I've had, but enjoyable: good solid (and fresh) corn chips, a mix with black beans, minced onion, salsa and fresh cilantro (nice!). The chicken was a bit limited - minced a bit too small - I prefer slightly bigger chunks of grilled chicken when it's on nachos like this. Happily, they used good real cheese melted onto the nachos instead of liquid (uck), so this was a nice touch.

The dumplings appetizer was good. Portabello burger was quite tasty, and the appetizer assortment dish was good -- although the wings on the plate were a bit limited as I noted above.

All in all - we enjoyed the place, and will be back.

Was here some years ago and decided to go back only because they were offered on opentable.com and I was writing right past it. I figured maybe they had gotten better so I would give them another chance.
I was only craving a turkey burger and the menu for the sandwiches and the burgers look very very appetizing so I was anxious. I ordered the black and blue turkey burger on a brioche bun with waffle fries. My friend had a grilled veggie sandwich with coleslaw and a side of cream of broccoli soup which was very good. When my fries came out they were warm so I had to ask for new ones. When the new ones came out they were hot but extra greasy. The Burger came with lettuce tomato and red onion which was a little scarce . The burger patty seem to be frozen or bought from somewhere else and not made on location. The burger itself was okay but like I said it could have been better. I also ordered a purple poncho Margarita which tasted more like kool-aid instead of an alcoholic drink. Moral of the story, I don't think it was worth the money that we spent and probably will not be going back unless I have some type of special coupon on top of being able to use open table.

Early Dinner. Entree was delivered with the starter (told Kitchen just does that). They actually came before the first beer was delivered (about 10 minutes wait). Two other tables were dining at this early time, so I couldn't understand my server forgetting me. Food about dinner style (onion soup and fish and chips).

A $10 brunch with great food? Excellent choice. Food was hot and fresh. Service was friendly. What more can you ask for. Brunch is 10 to 3 instead of 2 like most places, excellent. Omelette station was AWESOME. The omelette maker is the friendliest I've ever met. I know that sounds strange. LOL. Pancakes, French toast (delicious), bacon, sausage (OMG), home fries, eggs, carving station w/roast beef and turkey, a little salad stuff, 4 hot entrees including mac and cheese and meatballs, and desserts.

This is a great restaurant for sports fans who love good food. Always my favorite place to go to watch a game AND get a great meal. Still good food, but was a little disappointed that they changed the menu. The main reason I loved this place was because it had more than just 'sports bar' food. Went from a 6-7 page menu to one sheet back and front. Again, the food that's on it is still delicious, and on the plus side they lowered the prices, just wish they left a few more of the appetizers and chicken dishes on the menu.
