All guests felt that their entrees were exceptional; especially those ordering the steak. Flavors and presentation were indeed above expectations. Although, portions were much smaller than expected.
Still, a very, very pleasurable dining experience, overall.
Should be a destination experience for anyone who enjoys high end dining and is visiting the area.
There was nothing that was not perfect about the evening!!

Dinner at 11,444 feet elevation! You need to ride two different gondolas to get to the top of the mountain. Beautiful scenery and great service add to the dining experience. Highly recommended!!
The wild bear sighting was definitely a bonus, but I was happy to return to the Stube to find a delightful fine dining experience. Creative and accessible dishes. Elegant and not stuffy. Professional and comfortable service. A delicious meal in a spectacular environment.
The entire evening was an amazing experience. Service and food off the charts good. Banana chocolate cake was to die for awesome
I do not like the changes made to the restaurant. It used to be such a wonderful dining experience. If it is going to stay a casual bar and grill type restaurant, the prices need to be lowered. Odd to pay for fine dining when it is no longer fine dining.
This is a tough review to write. First, I have been going this restaurant since it opened in the early 90’s. When it first opened it was definitely a true fine dining experience. Now it appears that is a mountain top chain restaurant. The building is still beautiful, the service good(not great), but the clientele has changed. One guest had removed his shoes and was sitting barefoot, one child was standing on her chair playing peek-a-boo, another guest was on the phone all throughout dinner,and finally most guest(not all) were dressed like they were eating at Denny’s. A disappointing dinner to say the least. I had prepared my guest for a wonderful fine dining experience, but instead was embarrassed and apologetic. Also, we watched three employees step outside and smoke marijuana in front of us. To be fair, they thought we could not see them duck into the trees behind the restaurant. But, they were clearly in plain sight of us. Lastly, the background music is 80’s remix.
We have been to Alpenglow once before and enjoyed our time there very much, but this last visit really exceeded our expectations for the evening! Brittany at the bar was so much fun and accommodating! Our host was tremendous as he explained to us where the sunset would be so we wouldn’t miss it, and taking care of us later in the evening as well by bringing us special treats for my husband’s birthday. Charles (Charlie) was spectacular!! He was the most professional, personable and attentive young man/ waiter that we have ever had. He truly made our evening extra special and beyond enjoyable, along with our host and Brittany! We are planning on returning to Alpenglow so much sooner after this amazing night!!
Thank you everyone! Please don’t change a thing!! The food was also incredible and we really appreciated Charles and the chef working with my husband’s request for scallops added to his chicken/pasta dish!!

Helen Early and her new management team will prove to be the demise of Stube’s 4-diamond experience. In just one year, the change in management and mentality of Stube’s dining has lead to the exodus of decades of experience and some of the best team members. The shift to a more chic dining experience has resulted in new decor clashing with the building’s natural timber feel, a loss of personalization after nixing the personalized menus, and a drastic decline in the culinary experience. Shifting a 7-course dining experience to a chic middle-class menu has destroyed dining here. With only a half dozen entree options, French fries in place of fois gras, and a decrease in portions now leaves the customer underwhelmed and wishing they had planned their special dinner elsewhere. Instead of pushing to pursue the accolades of Charlie Trotter or Eleven Madison Park, the new Stube management has opted to downgrade in pursuit of every decent-but-not-great modern restaurant you can find in The RINO or LODO districts of Denver. We were incredibly disappointed in the decline of everything Stube has built its reputation upon. Until the impeccable dining experience is returned, we see no reason to return again.
Remote site, two gondola rides up the mountain, but well worth the trip!
Disappointed because we had been there before it changed to casual. Casual was too casual- more sloppy. We were desiring a special place, something elegant with nice ambiance as it previously had been. The buffet food was very good but displayed without any flare or thought. Entrees were so-so.
Our service was exceptionally good. We were at dinner with 5 adults and a 7 month old. The food was delectable. The woman’s restroom did not have a changing table or chair. Those would be nice additions for nursing and tending to a baby. We enjoyed it very much! Thank you!
Of course riding two Keystone Ski resort gondolas just to get there is an experience in itself. Scenery is breathtaking. My wife and I had an early 5:30 p.m. reservation. We were literally the first customers there. Manager met us at the door and seated us next to the fire place. Ambiance is fantastic. I have to admit, I was sceptical about how good the food would be. Right? Packing groceries up to an 11,444 foot mountain top is a challenge in itself. The extremely knowledgeable and friendly waiter guided us to some excellent food choices. My wife is a gourmet chef, and she was impressed with the food as well. Highly recommend trying the wild boar. And if you can figure out what's in the demi-glace sauce, please let me know. It was outstanding. The boar was smoked and so tender I did not need a knife. Topped it off with smoked chocolate mousse and a coffee. A truly remarkable dining experience.

A must visit place. Beautiful location, very neat dining experience, great food. Portions are pretty small for the price but overall worth the experience.

The most divine way to take a break from skiing. There is nothing more luxurious feeling than taking off ski boots and thawing out your feet by sliding them into slippers and sitting down at a table by the fire. The service, menu and wine list are all outstanding. An elevated experienced at high elevation.
We have been going to Alpenglow for over 20 years as a family. It was always something we looked forward to as a family while skiing or visiting in the summer.
Unfortunately, since the change in management, service, atmosphere, wine list, coffee service, and many other amenities has all plummeted. While the food was still delicious, and the updated menu was a welcome change, the things that made it worth the big price tag is gone. This has gone from a 5-star restaurant to a nice corporate restaurant.
Not near as nice as a previous visit a couple of years ago.
Everything was outstanding. Literally, everything. Highly recommend for awesome date night!
We were really disappointed this time. We have been on two other occasions and really loved it. The service has been greatly downgraded. Formerly we received personalized menus with the name of our party. Previously the service was excellent, with classic serving. Think silver dimes lids all raised at the same time for presentation. Also it was silent service and the food was excellent. Now menus are like Denny’s with prices remaining the same. The waitress read the menus from a tattered notebook in her pocket. We were told we had to order everything at the same time. The waiters were hurried. The tables were all crowded together. They have obviously added more tables. It was much louder. The halibut was so fishy I sent it back. The chocolate dessert was chocolate mouse on a graham cracker, not inspired. We really hope they decide to go back to traditional high end experience. What they are doing now is not working.

The view was wonderful, and the gondola ride up to the restaurant was a great experience. The restaurant itself was lovely as well, so the ambiance was great. However, the food was mediocre at best and extremely over priced. I paid $40 for a pasta that had flavorless sauce and noodles so stale that I had to cut them with a knife to eat them. I was not impressed.
Awesome trip to the summit before a great meal. All in the party were very pleased with their meals. Good cocktail selection, great wine choices. Pricey, but worth it!

Very disappointed that only brunch was served at lunchtime on Sunday. Had chicken and waffles because I don’t eat eggs. Very dry and over cooked.

Still a wonderful Keystone experience. 4 of us boarded the gondala and received blankets from the lift op. The sweet Peruvian hostess greeted us and took our coats with a smile. I saw the iconic slippers in the coat check room but we didn't need them as we were not in ski boots. The room has changed to a more open design that accentuates the rafters and deer horn chandeliers. It is a more modern feel but still intimate. Our waiter Jeff was awesome and provided good insight regarding the offerings and he was spot-on and attentive throughout the night. Drinks were delivered to the table by the bartender who crafted an old fashion with expertise. We shared small plates including brussel sprouts, peppers, a bacon flight, charcuterie and gnocchi. Portions were ample but I would probably pass on the gnocchi next time as it functions more as a first course than a small plate. For dinner we shared wild boar tenderloin and the prawns. Both were executed perfectly from the sear on the boar to the al dente pasta that the prawns sat on. I have read previous reviews and was concerned but you should not be. The new design and menu at the Stube delivers. Still a wonderful place with great staff, an inventive and well executed menu and a location that is truly special.
Lovely setting, great to take off the ski boots and cocktails were spot on, BUT the service was average as was the food. I hadn’t been in a few years but remembered the lunch had been better in the past

Some of the old was missed but not enough to ruin our anual Alpenglow experience. We all enjoyed our meal and wine and our service and especially our time at the top of the mountain. I guess some people like the old stuffy feel, we like our time together. To each his own.
Bowl of soup was $21. It was more like a cup of soup. $23 burger came with no sides. Quality of food good, but not worth the price. Service was only so so as the server never once came to check how things were and if we liked our food. Never brought or asked if we wanted ground pepper on soup or salad. Had to ask for ketchup with burger. Espresso machine broken. No black tea available. This used to be a special place for lunch, now it’s not special and not worth the price.
Great ambience, food and service for our group of 12. Gondola rides from River Run Village are very scenic and fun.
Our Waiter of the evening was James. He welcomed us promptly and took us on a journey through the menu, highlighting his personal favorites and even suggesting wines to be paired! The entire staff really made our memory even more memorable! Will definitely visit again!
