We are proud to introduce a distinguished culinary experience to the refined palates of New York City with the infusion of authentic Lebanese cuisine and the exotic flavors of traditional Armenian dishes.
The story of Almayass began in Beirut in 1996 by the Alexandrian family, third generation Armenians, who had a passion to share and serve their culinary delights. Ever since, the restaurant has come to the attention of The New York Times, New York Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, Los Angeles Times and many other international publications as a ‘must go’ destination for an Armenian-Lebanese dining experience. In recent years, Almayass has expanded in the Middle East with locations in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Doha at The Pearl and Dubai, Downtown.
Our inviting location in New York City’s bustling Flatiron district boasts a large dining room as well as a separate bar and lounge area. Reservations are highly recommended.

Almayass Ratings and Reviews
A wonderful Armenian gem in the heart of Manhattan. Delicious Armenian cuisine in a comfortable and inviting setting with ample lighting, seating and decor. I would highly recommend this venue for a special occasion (as we were there to celebrate our parent's anniversary) or just to try Armenian delicacies. Their service was very good and hospitable. We took our time and never felt rushed to leave. An overall positive experience.
What a wonderful experience, it was like going to a friend's house for dinner, from the moment we arrived at the moment we left, we couldn't stop smiling. The service was charming, adequate and swift. The decor and the environment were classy but not intimidating, it allowed conversations and evoked the warm surrounding of a middle eastern family meal. The food was flawless, it was a feast for the eyes involved in familiar aromas made with fresh ingredients. You could easily taste every single herb, spice and condiment. We rapidly devoured the cold mezze trying a little bit of everything, still managed to clear both the mains and indulged in homemade desserts. About the mains, we loved the presentation and the charred taste of the meat straight out of the grill. The desserts were quite special, they had the looks of a Michelin starred restaurant but evoked the sweet warmth that only grandmas can prepare. Overall, this was one of our favourite moments in NYC, we can only congratulate the Restaurant Manager Mario and recommend it to anyone looking for a flawless meal in a cosy surrounding, great for any purpose.
We ordered a half dozen apps and a half dozen entrees to share... all were flavorful and well presented. Extensive wine list includes many from Armenia and Lebanon, which were fun to try and quite enjoyable. Service was professional and attentive without being overbearing. Especially like the abundance of large round tables which are great for big parties... we had 7 people and could all converse easily. Decor is gorgeous, with fun and interesting art and sculpture. A find!
A lovely restaurant, comfortable seating with well spaced tables. Outstanding service by people who want you to taste the best they have to offer. Delicious flavors infuse each dish and everything we ordered was great. This Lebanese restaurant is by far the best we've tried in NYC. Can't wait to return.
Hands down the best Lebanese I've had in NYC. The lamb was fantastic and chicken was even better. And they had this kinda...air puffed garlic butter? I would put that on everything. ANYTHING. So amazing. Also they have a few local Lebanese beers that are definitely worth trying.
Finally the service: Everyone came over to check. The waiters. The busboys. The manager. Everyone. Just checking in and making sure we had everything we needed the whole way. My water never made it to the halfway point once during the meal.
Strong strong recommend.
Excellent tasking menu. I grew up on authentic Armenian home cooked meals and this hits the spot!! Do not miss Al Mayass. The eclectic art and ambiance are very cool. The waiters are very accommodating and respectful. Entertained a vegetarian client and we both loved it. I will definitely be back again and again.
I recently returned to Almayass for dinner. It was truly excellent - the food is wonderful, varied, and fresh and the service attentive and gracious. It is certainly in the top rank of "Middle Eastern" food I have had in the U.S. The lightness, freshness, flavors, and preparation all stand out. I will definitely return and certainly highly recommend it
This place is excellent! The food is incredibly delicious and authentic. I am half Armenian and grew up with an Armenian mother and grandmother, and this food reminded me of home. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Make a res for sure. Will absolutely come back soon with friends!
Wow, an authentic Armenian restaurant in New York City! The food is absolutely terrific , as is the elegant decor and interesting wine and beer list. The garlic cream with the chicken is amazing, as is the lamb and the beets. Try the wine from Armenia - you won't be disappointed. I am definitely coming back.
We had very pleasant experience. Good ambiance, good services, and good food. From my interaction with the restaurant's manager who is part of owner's family I got to know a little bit more about the restaurant. What impressed me most is the family takes high pride on their business, and try their best to improve overall customer experiences.
The food was very good and tasty. The service was a little spotty. They weren't on top of refilling the water glasses. Entrees came out before appetizer plates were removed. However , having said that the experience was enjoyable and they did bring a couple of desserts to the table gratis.
This was the third time I've had a meal at Almayass, and with the same friend. The first time we ate there a couple of years ago, we had a smashing meal -- everything we ordered, whether appetizers or main courses, was flavorful, sparkling fresh, and interesting. This time, everything was lackluster: salads overdressed with too much lemon; the hummus was flat. The cheese appetizers were good. The branzino was overcooked and the spinach vegetarian main had very little flavor at all. The dessert tasted like pancakes that had been cooked an hour before and were served at room temperature. The service started out fine, but when it was time for dessert no one asked if we wanted coffee or tea. It's pretty sad to say that the highest compliment was that our water glasses were filled without our having to ask. Also, the noise level became unbearable as the evening wore on. Since this didn't seem to bother anyone else, and the restaurant was quite full, I concede that my friend and I are in the minority. In any case, we will not be returning.
