Our story began in Beirut in 1996 by the Alexandrian family, third generation Armenians, who had a passion to share and serve their culinary delights. The restaurant has since been featured in NY Times, New York Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, LA Times and the Michelin Guide as a ‘must go’ destination for an Armenian-Lebanese dining experience.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. We will be back!!
Always a delight although a pricey one. Service is fine The host accommodating. Food is wonderful. The flavors strong and distinct. We never seem to get past thr Mezze. But who would want to.
Nice restaurant, good food, but not outstanding. Overpriced. We had the Armenian tasting menu and it was overpriced for what we had.
Good food, we’ll come back
Great spot for a nice night out or business or other special occasion.
Everyone who works here was very friendly and helpful. We were seated by a friendly hostess. Then when we mentioned to our server that we eat gluten and dairy free the manager came over and went over options with us. He attended to every need during the dinner.
We were visiting from Seattle and were so impressed with the level of service. On top of that the food was absolutely amazing. I have never tasted better hummus in my life!!! Highly recommend.
Food was great but extremely expensive
Lovely way to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Delicious food and nice atmosphere where we could easy talk and enjoy our group.
The food was excellent! It's a little overpriced but worth it. I was sad that they were out of the dolma as it's one of my favorites but it was a Monday so I sort of expected it. Must have had a busy weekend. I tried the Armenian Kafta and LOVED it! So did my sister who's not a very adventurous eater! Great wine selection and definitely don't skip on the hummus!
Perfect. Spectacular food, world class kindness and service, hip vibe, beautiful ambiance.
The chicken wasn’t done. The potatoes were greasy and hard. Waiter disinterested.
The meal was delicious and creatively presented. I’d like to give this restaurant 6 stars! We had the “Armenian Sharing” for 2 and were impressed with every selection. Being a vegetarian, I especially loved the lentil Kafka, the eggplant dolma and subereg. My husband, a meat eater, also loved the basterma and manti as well as the vegetarian foods. The sesame sauce tgat came with the pita bread was amazing too. The waiters were exceptional and took their time explaining various foods. The meal was fresh and flavorful, and desert was heavenly. This might just be my new favorite restaurant in NYC!!
I love it! Totally recommend it!
Tabouleh and kibeh nayeh did not have enough bulger in it.
Otherwise great place, atmosphere and food.
Everything from food to service was excellent! Very friendly staff. We were almost leaving when my 4 year old told them it was her older sister bday so they came back with a chocolate cake and candle singing happy bday. Very thoughtful. Will definitely come back and suggest to friends.
Were seated by the door. Felt like we might as well be outside. Waiters were hard to get a hold of.
Great spot highly recommended
Great place! Simple and flavorful food. Service was a little spotty towards the end of the meal
The food was delicious and the service was great. The waiter was very attentive and on point with the recommendations. The dessert was really worth the try!
Almayass was a good restaurant - While our group of 8 enjoyed our dinner - the vegetarian / vegan options were limited .
The Falafel and Babaganoush were excellent - the best we have had.
The meat eaters loved their Fish and Lamb Chops as well.
The wine selection was excellent.
We’ve been coming to Almayass since 2012. It is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. Not only is the food authentic & delicious, the ambience - from the lighting, artwork, and design - makes for wonderful evenings.
The restaurant was beautiful. And the the appetizers were amazing. But the main course was unfortunately a let down. And over all for the experience it was very over priced.
Went for my birthday with 13 friends and had the most delicious food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to split and each had an entree and everything was amazing. Will definitely be back!
We love the food here.
Food was ok. The salad and dessert was not that great.
The foods are very delicious and exotic. The restaurant looks beautiful.
I took my Armenian family to this restaurant on Friday night and we had an incredible meal!! It was such a joy to see my Armenian Father and Grandma enjoy food from our culture that they didn’t cook themselves. The food was authentic, so flavorful and fresh!! The ambiance is equally thoughtful, colorful, and so beautiful.
WE’LL BE BACK!!
Wonderful atmosphere and food is amazing!
From the moment you enter you begin to see how much work went into the decor, the finishes and how they created this incredibly beautiful space that is both spacious yet intimate. The food is exceptional, the service impeccable. As my party and I were leaving the owner came over to greet us check in to see how our meal was. This was on a Saturday night. He took the time which I thought was a real kind gesture.
This place is an experience and I highly recommend it.
The Armenian Mantee and Armenian Kefte are absolutely delicious! A must try!!
This has been my Birthday restaurant choice for the past two years. The pomegranate molasses chicken liver appetizer is delicious. The mixed grill was perfect and the wine recommendations were spot-on.
Food was amazing and the service wasgreat. The space is really nice but the furniture and art makes it look tacky and it's too bright. Other than the fake tree and weird art pieces I thought this was a great find. They can also easily accommodate larger groups.
I came here with my mother who is notoriously picky but we found so many options and everyThing we ordered was delicious. At one point the air conditioner came on and it got quite cold and we mentioned it to our server and it was taken care of right away. We loved our time here and I will absolutely be returning.
I was skeptical on how to handle celebrating my husband's birthday at this restaurant along with our 3 year old but everyone put us at ease and they handled all of the toddler chaos calmly! We will definitely be going back!
So delicious! Can't wait to go back! Having tried so many different Lebanese/Armenian restaurants all over the US, this is one of the closest and most delicious that you will find. Loved every minute of it!
We went back for a second time to Almayass and had THE BEST MEAL! Exceptional service by Mario and his team. Truly every morsel of food was delicious, the wait staff were personable and helpful with making suggestions and answered our questions. So happy that we came back! 5 Stars!
My meat entree was raw when asked for a medium rare. Seating arrangements were shifted last minute. All in all disappointing
The Fod was exceptional
All the appetizers where to die for don’t miss the crispy cauliflower with tahini, all the hummus where perfect
And the best is a chicken kebab with a garlic whipped butter that I would just go back for that
Wonderful staff and a warm and inviting setting. The hummus is unforgettable in texture and taste - we had the tabbouleh, fattoush and an amazing meat filled pasta that was baked so there were crispy edges which enriched the texture. Meat & fish were cooked to perfection. We ended our meal with their signature dessert and candied fruits. We were able to relax and enjoy our meal without being rushed, which is refreshing. Best Lebanese food I've had in NYC - will definitely return!
Great food but pretty sterile ambiance (white table cloth, fairly empty, generic decor).
