Alma Nove Ratings and Reviews
Been here several times and, as usual, the restaurant is tremendous. Paul Wahlberg and his staff are outstanding. The food and service is absolutely phenomenal. The place is a gem and when Paul tells you that the apple bread pudding is the best dessert on the menu, you listen. Outstanding.
This is my favorite restaurant. We were celebrating our Anniversary. I ordered the rib eye steak which was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. My husband ordered the duck breast and loved it as well. There was a private party in part of the restaurant and the noise level was fine. Service was excellent, friendly and professional. We will go there over and over.
My husband and I were very pleased with our first visit to Alma Nove. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the five courses we ordered. The food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxing, romantic and unhurried. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive and efficient. We will definitely go again.
I had made reservations a week in advance, but when we arrived at 7 pm, we were told our table "was not ready yet." Our friends hadn't arrived yet so we didn't mind waiting, but even after they joined us, it was a full 30 minutes before we were seated. I understand that restaurants can't always control groups that linger over coffee, etc., but this kind of delay shouldn't happen if you reserve a table. On a Saturday night, the crowd will surely grow after 6:30 p.m., and this should be part of the planning.
Once we were seated, everything was great. The food at Alma Nove is always excellent, the service was friendly and attentive. One of our group had pasta which he pronounced excellent, and the rest of our group each had a different kind of fish. All were beautifully presented and delicious. We shared apple pie gelato and apple bread pudding - all wonderful. So, except for the delay in getting our reserved table, a fun and satisfactory dinner with good friends.
Having an opportunity to visit Boston MA. and so close to the restaurant that I see on TV on Wednesday nights - I had to make the trip. The food was freshly made, cooked to perfection and absolutely fabulous. The staff were fantastic and personable. Took into consideration the food allergy we had mention and ensured we were satisifed with our experience. The management team even took a picture of my hubby and I before we left. Experienced another piece of the Wahlberg legacy and loved it. Keep up the great work!
The food was good but services was a bit slow as soon as people started coming in during dinner hours round 5:00pm. It seem like our waiter was more focus on the regulars coming in instead of our table. I ask for a meet and greet with Chef Paul because we were celebrating a special occasions and it did not happened but in overall it was good.
We had my Grandson's ninth Birthday party at Alma Nove. The birthday cake was delivered by none other than the owner, Paul Walhberg. What a treat as Paul actually spent a lot of time interacting with the birthday boy and both seemed to enjoy the interaction. Food is always excellent, service is always pleasant and the food is always great. This was our first time back for the new menu and the offerings looked so good we will have to be back again soon to try out the ones we didn't have on this visit. Alma Nove is always a "Go To" restaurant for us@!
I went there for the first time for my birthday with my husband, nephew and his girlfriend. For a Saturday night we were able to have a conversion and still be able to hear each other. Food was fabulous, we had shared 3 appetizers, dinner and dessert. Lastly I can't say enough of our waiter Tony, he was so awesome, so polite and helpful!!!
I took my mother here for her 87th birthday and the staff was overwhelmingly fantastic in terms of making it a special occasion. They wrote up a special bourbon tasting for my mother at my request , and could not have gone more out of their way to make the evening perfect.
We have always loved Alma Nove. Meals have been excellent and service quite attentive. We live close by, so we go there often. What a shock to have a bad experience. Service was VERY slow and not attentive (well, the Red Sox were playing their last game), but there were 5 parties in the restaurant at mid-afternoon. The mussel appetizer was delicious. I asked for very rare salmon on my salad. The piece that I was served should not have been served to anyone (half brown stuff) and it was well done. My husband ordered the cod special and it was also overdone. The bread pudding was served barely warm. Is Paul W dropping his standards or just not paying attention? We will go back, but 2 more strikes and you are out.
Gorgeous restaurant. Amazing food. Unfortunately, our server barely paid any attention to us. When we first arrived it took over 20 minutes for him to even speak to us or ask if we wanted anything to drink or to bring us water. Once he came back with our waters and wine he disappeared for another 15-20 minutes. When he returned he basically just asked us what we wanted. Never told us about specials, never asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, overall he barely engaged with us. This was a special occasion, as we were celebrating our anniversary. We will be back, as it’s one of our favorite restaurants and the food is always delicious. We just hope that the service is better next time.
Staff and management were friendly fun
attentive and accommodating. Cocktails were well made in a timely manner.) Food came in good time and had a nice presentation. The risotto was tasty, scallops and meatballs had great flavor, though the flat iron steak was very chewy and over done. The variety of desserts here has always been pleasing but none have really been great. The Apple pie bread pudding was good but lacked flavor. It seemed like a defrosted apple muffin with a scoop of ice cream.
