Authentic Cuban cuisine. Very attentive staff. Great ambiance. Really enjoyable mean.
Had a great time with my wife and the food was full of flavor and was freshly prepared!!
We went out with friends for a celebratory meal. It was definitely not conducive to quiet conversation, but we were not quietly conversing in any case. Food was amazing, the wait-staff was extremely professional and they took very good care of us. The bill was pricey, but definitely worth it. I would rate this restaurant very highly in Philadelphia.
A disappointing Steven Starr restaurant. Chopped salad was all watercress: impossible to eat, dry, tasteless. The vegetarian paella had 2 baby carrots, 5 small artichoke hearts and an enormous glob of black rice that also was impossible to eat. Never again.
We sat on the 3rd level and the lightning was very low. It was almost impossible to read the menu without resorting to the flashlight on the iPhone.
We loved everything especially our steak and pork entrees. Our server was informative, helpful and did an excellent job. Very happy with our visit.
Loved the atmosphere
Maybe it was what we ordered (paella), but the portion was very small, and not very tasty. The seafood in mine was passable, but a tiny amount...rice was not "paella rice". My date and I were not impressed with the food at all...and the bachelorette party (at least 20 girls) beside us made it impossible to talk. For the price of the meal, I'll go somewhere that has better tasting food! We will not return to or recommend this restaurant.
Was a great experience all around - can’t say enough.
The food was amazing. Great dining experience, and the waiters' recommendations were spot on.
First time there tonight and I loved it! Great service and great food!
Food was inique and Fabulous Lovely mix of flavors. Beautiful presentation. Authentic Cuban food and flavors, especially the Ropa Vieja. Mojitos were great as were the Dark and Stormys. Dessert were delicious, especially the Pavlova and the Chocolate Custard. Cuban coffee was delicious. Bar service was a little slow, but overall very good. It appears they have a very nice Happy Hour. Will definitely be back.
they sat us 45 min after our reservation time but were super accommodating and nice (including a free round of drinks). Food and ambiance were fantastic
First time here and won't be the last. The ambiance is great, the staff is wonderful and everything we ate was delicious! We weren't rushed at all. We had dinner upstairs but had drinks downstairs first. It's a nice set up with a bar, club chairs and sofas. You can eat down there also which is probably a great spot to come for drinks and apps. The guacamole here is fantastic as are the dates. Every dinner selection was great: filet, scallops, branzino and short ribs. Dessert didn't disappoint either. The tre leches cake is delicious and the chocolate cigar was clever and also really good. Can't go wrong here with whatever you choose.
Always a great dinner. Great drinks, great service, great food. Best dish is the vaca frita!
Really great food - drinks a little expensive but very good
Great experience. Food was amazing! Waitress could’ve been more personable, but overall great experience.
The food was outstanding and our servers were so attentive.
Everything was great, service, food and friendly atmosphere, however inside the restaurant was to dark. Difficult for see enjoy and share food .... I like to see what I'm eating but the lighting was bad.... I was trying to figure it out what was in my plate ...
Great experience. Food was amazing. Top on my restaurants to go back to list.
Dined on a Saturday, and grabbed drinks before our reservation. Black Cherry Capirhinia was excellent and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. The ceviche and vaca Frita were winners! Service wasn’t great, our server disappeared and never came back to close us out, had to wave down the host, and Also never received a glass of wine that was ordered. Would come back though for the great food and drinks
A fantastic meal from start to finish! We requested a table downstairs in the bar where it was much quieter; the staff was very accommodating. Don’t leave before dessert — the chocolate with a hint of orange was to die for!
Food was ok at best. I ordered roasted pork. Presentation was good however flavor was bland. The meat came out with skin attached. There was much more fat than meat. The pork skin was chewy. The rice was scarce as they only placed a little around the meat. The service was ok. Within five minutes of meal arrival the waitress stopped to check on us. Other than that we didn’t see her and every time we tried to get her attention as she passed she was clearly focused on what she was doing at the time and didn’t see us. Manager did do a table touch near end of meal and asked if we where ok. By then I had eaten what I could and I didn’t respond to the negativity of our meal.
For the price you expect a flawless evening with good food. Unfortunately I will most likely not return.
Every time we have eaten here the food and the staff impress us. Each staff member seems to truly care that we have a great experience and the food is simply sublime.
The food was absolutely delicious. Great romantic ambiance, and the service was impecable. Wonderful night!
We stopped in early after a matinee at the Kimmel Center. We were seated on the second level, a nice open and airy location. We shared a large salad, thoughtfully split for us in the kitchen. The Lechon Asado was delicious, and much too big to finish at one time. My wife finished her scallops though, also quite well prepared. This was our fourth time in the restaurant. We will return.
Alma De Cuba has some very nice Cuban dishes like Empanadas, Cava Frita and Ropa Vieja. They all pale in comparison to the Ceviche. I tasted four of them the Agua Chile Cobia, Thai Coconut Mixto, Rainbow and Mojito Shrimp. They were all very delicious. Don’t miss the chocolate cigar for dessert.
I went here on Valentine's Day 2018 and was very disappointed with the limited menu. There are not enough choices to pick from and the menu is not very exciting. I always love the Chocolate Cigar for dessert but you can't go to a restaurant just for the dessert. They need to tear up the current menu and revamp it. This used to be my favorite place to go in Philadelphia but not any longer. Cuba Libre beats this restaurant in every category now. Time to change the menu and offer more choices. Its very hard for me to write a negative review but I was not happy. I hope they make menu changes so this place can be great again. Go to Cuba Libre if you want a real Latin restaurant with solid menu choices in Philadelphia.
Favorite restaurant in Philly. Consistent and great ambiance.
Food was amazing, dessert was phenomenal compliments to the chef! Service was outstanding, we felt welcome from entry to exit. Will recommend and come back definitely.
This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. It never disappoints. The Ceviche is the best I have ever had!
The ambiance is nice, no loud music. The food was tasty with reasonable proportion, nicely seasoned. It was a very nice experience.
This restaurant has kept up its quality on every level for over a decade. The best Latino Cuban Restaurant in our City
We honestly love this place and it is our favorite restaurant! We had the same server twice, Thomas, and he was fabulous! Food is wonderful and so is the atmosphere!!!
Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious overall, though we were a little disappointed in the rainbow ceviche. Love the variations on traditional food. Main dish servings were very generous!
Waitress was outstanding. Food was delicious but portion sizes were ridiculously small.2 2oz of cerviche. 2inch sized dinner rolls. 4 2" empanadas. 4 fried plantains about 2" in diameter. Beef stew entree in a soup bowl. 4 shrimps. All totaled $115. Drank tap water. Extremely overpriced. Beef stew in a soup bowl was $21. Husband finished it in 4 bites. We actually got dessert at a gelato stop for 1/2 of what I saw their desserts were for $10 to $15. Tiny pieces of cake or amuse bouche.
All good at Alma after all these years
Some of the finest food I've ever had in my life. Impeccable, attentive service. Beautifully decorated. Scallops and steak were both cooked to perfection. Sangria and mojitos were delicious.
The whole experience at Alma de Cuba was amazing, but the food was the best part. The seared tuna steaks were hands down the best tuna I've ever had, and the chocolate cigar dessert was creative, ascetically pleasing, and delicious. The whole restaurant team worked in unison to make sure everything was perfect and taken care of without ever being intrusive.
Amazing staff and fast service!
