The food was outstanding and our servers were so attentive.
Everything was great, service, food and friendly atmosphere, however inside the restaurant was to dark. Difficult for see enjoy and share food .... I like to see what I'm eating but the lighting was bad.... I was trying to figure it out what was in my plate ...
Great experience. Food was amazing. Top on my restaurants to go back to list.
Dined on a Saturday, and grabbed drinks before our reservation. Black Cherry Capirhinia was excellent and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. The ceviche and vaca Frita were winners! Service wasn’t great, our server disappeared and never came back to close us out, had to wave down the host, and Also never received a glass of wine that was ordered. Would come back though for the great food and drinks
A fantastic meal from start to finish! We requested a table downstairs in the bar where it was much quieter; the staff was very accommodating. Don’t leave before dessert — the chocolate with a hint of orange was to die for!
Food was ok at best. I ordered roasted pork. Presentation was good however flavor was bland. The meat came out with skin attached. There was much more fat than meat. The pork skin was chewy. The rice was scarce as they only placed a little around the meat. The service was ok. Within five minutes of meal arrival the waitress stopped to check on us. Other than that we didn’t see her and every time we tried to get her attention as she passed she was clearly focused on what she was doing at the time and didn’t see us. Manager did do a table touch near end of meal and asked if we where ok. By then I had eaten what I could and I didn’t respond to the negativity of our meal.
For the price you expect a flawless evening with good food. Unfortunately I will most likely not return.
Every time we have eaten here the food and the staff impress us. Each staff member seems to truly care that we have a great experience and the food is simply sublime.
The food was absolutely delicious. Great romantic ambiance, and the service was impecable. Wonderful night!
We stopped in early after a matinee at the Kimmel Center. We were seated on the second level, a nice open and airy location. We shared a large salad, thoughtfully split for us in the kitchen. The Lechon Asado was delicious, and much too big to finish at one time. My wife finished her scallops though, also quite well prepared. This was our fourth time in the restaurant. We will return.
Alma De Cuba has some very nice Cuban dishes like Empanadas, Cava Frita and Ropa Vieja. They all pale in comparison to the Ceviche. I tasted four of them the Agua Chile Cobia, Thai Coconut Mixto, Rainbow and Mojito Shrimp. They were all very delicious. Don’t miss the chocolate cigar for dessert.
Favorite restaurant in Philly. Consistent and great ambiance.
Food was amazing, dessert was phenomenal compliments to the chef! Service was outstanding, we felt welcome from entry to exit. Will recommend and come back definitely.
This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. It never disappoints. The Ceviche is the best I have ever had!
The ambiance is nice, no loud music. The food was tasty with reasonable proportion, nicely seasoned. It was a very nice experience.
This restaurant has kept up its quality on every level for over a decade. The best Latino Cuban Restaurant in our City
We honestly love this place and it is our favorite restaurant! We had the same server twice, Thomas, and he was fabulous! Food is wonderful and so is the atmosphere!!!
Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious overall, though we were a little disappointed in the rainbow ceviche. Love the variations on traditional food. Main dish servings were very generous!
Waitress was outstanding. Food was delicious but portion sizes were ridiculously small.2 2oz of cerviche. 2inch sized dinner rolls. 4 2" empanadas. 4 fried plantains about 2" in diameter. Beef stew entree in a soup bowl. 4 shrimps. All totaled $115. Drank tap water. Extremely overpriced. Beef stew in a soup bowl was $21. Husband finished it in 4 bites. We actually got dessert at a gelato stop for 1/2 of what I saw their desserts were for $10 to $15. Tiny pieces of cake or amuse bouche.
All good at Alma after all these years
Some of the finest food I've ever had in my life. Impeccable, attentive service. Beautifully decorated. Scallops and steak were both cooked to perfection. Sangria and mojitos were delicious.
The whole experience at Alma de Cuba was amazing, but the food was the best part. The seared tuna steaks were hands down the best tuna I've ever had, and the chocolate cigar dessert was creative, ascetically pleasing, and delicious. The whole restaurant team worked in unison to make sure everything was perfect and taken care of without ever being intrusive.
Amazing staff and fast service!
We have been to Alma de Cuba several times. On our most recent visit we saw that the menu has changed. There has been several items added and removed from the menu. Our go to appetizer "croquetas" as well as my husband's go to "Vaca Frita", were still on the menu. The croquetas were very good although the presentation was very different. The Vaca Frita on the other hand was just not the same. The beans needed seasoning, and the meat just wasn't the same. The meat used to melt-in-your-mouth, now it was stringy. I had the scallops with quinoa which were very good. We also ordered a Cobia ceviche, it was $16 and was not worth the money there was very little fish/octopus. We had the tres leche for dessert it was very good especially the ice cream. Our server was very attentive. Our overall experience left a little to be desired as it was our anniversary, we were seated next to a party of 25+ women and we could barely hear ourselves talking.
Great food. Great service. Thanks for making our 5-year anniversary special!
Delicious and the ambiance was lovely. Plus, the cushioned seats were a special touch. Would definitely come back!
The food was amazing. The service was outstanding. We will be back.
Amazing. Fantastic dinner. Ceviche was great and pork the best I’ve ever tasted. Crab empanada just ok, will try another flavor next time.
That’s a great restaurant, I love the elegance of the restaurant and the bar set up. Service and food was excellent, I wish they served us a bit slower just to enjoy better the place . Can’t fail having dinner here
The food was amazing. We traveled from Baltimore and New Jersey to experience this restaurant on a Friday evening.
We were greeted warmly and the host was very nice. We went to the bar for a drink before dinner. The bartenders were all good and attentive. They were particularly interested in the attractive females near us but they never ignored us. Our waitress was either distracted or too busy but she never seemed to be around when we needed her. Service was a little slow. She was helpful when she was there. The food has been better at other visits we have had at the restaurant in the past. It was good but not great. We never heard about any specials so I assumed there were none. They had no whipped cream for our coffee drinks. It was Saturday night so maybe they ran out but it is on the menu. She only checked on drinks once after getting our first which took forever. They may need to refocus if they want to remain once of the best places in Philly. There is a lot of competition and they are not what they used to be from our perspective.
