Alma De Cuba
Need to book at 8:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Really like this place. Unusual and delicious food. Solid service. Not cheap but large portions and worth the money.
Food and service were great.
The service and food were outstanding! I had the Grilled Mushroom Rice, and a friend had the Seafood Rice. We split the Oxtail Bone Marrow Croquetas. They were having some sort of a sparkling mojito as the drink of the day, and that was very nice. I also had the Black Cherry Caipirinha, which was outstanding. Everything was great. The lighting was a bit dark, so if you have vision issues in low light then you may need to use your cell phone to illuminate the menu. This was my first time here, and I will definitely be back soon!
Excellent food and friendly wait service.
Good was not very good.
Great food, great service, nice atmosphere, overall enjoyable experience.
The food and drinks here are always amazing. But honestly the wait staff bring the experience home.
Alma de Cuba is a wonderful spot for restaurant week. It is in a mesmerizing building. Food was amazing, the only thing is the lighting is a little dark. We couldn’t see our food and the menu.
Visited Alma de Cuba for the first time during restaurant week. Great experience, definitely will return for their Happy Hour and delicious flourless chocolate cake. Yum!
This was my first time dining at Alma De Cuba. It will not be my last. Myself and a friend had the pleasure of visiting during ''Restaurant Week" in CC Philadelphia. I chose it for its location and variety. The dinner was wonderful and the server was upbeat and fun. From the appetizer to the dessert, I enjoyed every bite. I'm not a big cocktail lover but I was impressed and tempted to try a few of the drinks mentioned. That's something I'll have to do on my next visit. I've already recommended Alma De Cuba to several friends and family, now to you.
Great tastey. We got in before the crowds.
Our server, a thin, tall, young woman with very short hair was excellent, attentive, pleasant, and very knowledgeable about the cuisine. Found decor a a little dark and until my eyes adjusted, was afraid of falling when en route to the restroom, which was immaculate. Only 2 disappointments: the sangria I ordered was lacking in fruit, almost too sweet, and the flourless chocolate cake, one of the deserts offered on the CCD Restaurant Week menu, while delicious, was not to be found on ALMA de Cuba’s standard menu. Why not offer Restaurant Week patrons only deserts found on the regular menu, such as the chocolate cigar? However a very pleasant night out made even more memorable by the excellent service, kudos to Leanna? Thank you 🙏
Service was excellent not then low mark on Pork chop and chocolate cake Service was fine.
The food & atmosphere is always amazing.
We enjoyed an excellent dinner and stellar service by Juliette.
She was extremely attentive and cleaned off our table more than once and made sure our meal was as expected without spending too much time at the table... a perfect balance of service with a smile and attentiveness.
She was also mindful about my food allergies and helped me navigate the menu. Thank you!
Best service I’ve had in a while ... and I dine out often.
Our server, April, was so sweet and explained everything so well. The food was delicious. I will be returning.
Excellent, efficient and fun
Great service great week, would definitely go back. Ate there restaurant week to try, would definitely go back. Great drinks!!
Really laid back, I enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was amazing the service was great. I would definitely go back.
It was so peaceful and elegant . The workers were amazing and nice !
We went with family and friends for restaurant week. I have been here before. I will say that I am a little disappointed with the restaurant week menu. I didn't chose this place but I know the food is good here. Restaurant week is suppose to highlight your menu so people want to come back when it's not restaurant week. I do not think this was the menu to highlight the regular menu. My husband's regular pork chop was over cooked and dry. I told him to say something. A cuban restaurant should not get pork wrong! I ordered from the regular menu. The service was great and our server was very attentive. Some of the folks in our party complained that it was too dark to read the menu (older eyes). I will recommend this restaurant when it's not restaurant week.
Excellent place for a date - great food, ambiance and service
One of my favorite Philly restaurants. Love the cuban decor inside and out. The rooms are dark with red accents making a nice romantic ambience. I love the stuffed date appetizer and the skirt steak entree with black beans and rice and avocado.
I loved the food. This is my second time at this restaurant, and the food continues to be awesome. The issues I have with this restaurant is the service and the ambiance. We had 2 servers. At the start of our dinner they were great, but towards the end I felt like I was being rushed out of the restaurant. Ambiance, there is very low lighting, which made it difficult for me to read the menu.
Ambience was breathtaking. Food was
an eventful experience which expanded our palet with a variety of flavors, textures and provided us with a wonderful experience. Thank you.
Great night out with friends. Food was fantastic and our server, Michael, was best there is. He was so attentive and gave great recommendations. Thank you Michael!
Nice place to enjoy restaurant week. I have been on a normal day too and it was also nice. Pretty dark but other than that its yummy and fun.
Great food and service with a lively atmosphere. Portions were on the smaller side but to be expected with a higher tier restaurant such as this. Food came out quickly and as advertised and the staff checked in on our table frequently. Overall, a good experience that I would recommend.
I have been to Alma De Cuba a few times before and always enjoyed it. This time our server, who was polite, was slow. For example, I had to ask him 3 times to refill my club soda. He disappeared a few times and/or we tried in vain to flag him to our table. The food was good, but my salmon was not hot but rather warmish.
So overall, it was okay, but not the best time I have had at Alma De Cuba.
I’ve been to Alma De Cuba out side of restaurant week and it was great. The food was average at best on my most recent visit.
Food was excellent l; service was great. But it’s too damn dark. This is the second time I have been here I knew to bring a flashlight. It’s too damn dark.
I forgot my server’s name but he was excellent making for a wonderful experience. The ambiance was gorgeous. I will definitely be returning
Ceviche is delicious. Seri
Cool place... great menu/food!
It was a nice dining ambience except that my meat was overcooked. After being served the waiter left the dining room I was in. Since I was hungry and had waited some time for him to return I began to pick some of the meat apart and eat. I only ate a couple of bites leaving the majority of the meat on the plate because the meat was tough. The restaurant was not busy at all which lead me to believe there was no real excuse as to why a single piece of meat was so overcooked. I was very disappointed at that.
Everything was great from the menu selections to service. I also appreciated the hostess sending over Katie, one of their waitresses, to detail the ingredients for a sauce I was unfamiliar with. The only issue was the dim lighting, I like to see what I am eating, lol, but overall the experience was well worth it.
great vibe, attentive wait staff Excellent food and cocktails, left full and satisfied!
Place is perfect for a romantic dates.. went for my birthday and got free desert and the service was perfect
I’ve dinned here multiple times, I love the atmosphere and the food is always amazing! My recent visit was very disappointing, so much to the point of me taking time to wrote this review. I put in my reservation notes that this was a birthday celebration for my boyfriend who has never been there before. I wanted to make the night special for him, I even requested a certain table I love. However, we missed out initial res time, which is why I understood why we couldn’t have the table I requested. The service is what I’m most upset about. When we sat down the server took his time greeting our table, when he finally did he wasn’t pleasant. He never introduced himself, asked how we were doing nor bothered to ask if we were celebrating anything. I work in the restaurant industry at one of the biggest fine dining establishments in the city, so I know what good service is. The server seemed like he didn’t want to serve us, he never mentioned his birthday, he was very cold and unpleasant. The food was great but service is a huge part of hospitality and we were disappointed we didn’t receive that.
Went there for New Years Eve and had a great time .
