Alma De Cuba
My wife birthday
Service was good to start then waned. Waiter shared some favorite meal selections only to come back and say they were out of two of the four he recommended. 30 mins later another waiter said they put one dish back on the menu as they found more lobster. Chicken dish was not enjoyed by two of our guests. Dessert took 30 mins to arrive at table - they did comp the desserts without asking as they realized that was absurd (it wasn’t that busy).
My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful dinner the other night. We enjoyed the sampler together and wish there was more. The cocktails (Havana Punch & Dona Nana) were perfect complements to our meal. I had the Vaca Frita which was the highlight of the meal. It was very tender and a perfect portion for the price. So, the meal was amazing, so I always am intrigued with dessert when the meal is spectacular. We had the Key Lime Flan recommended to us, and it was the right amount of sweet and tangy. My wife was full from her seafood dish, but happily ate half because it was a delight. Wonderful overall meal.
Food was delicious, generous portions, flavorful. The chairs were weird, we were unable to sit comfortably to eat or sit close enough to hear each other.
Food and drinks were great. My one and only complaint is that Happy Hour should be honored in the dining room as well and not only in lounge area. We were sat upstairs in the dining room and were told that Happy Hour is in the lounge only but that we could get our drinks from the bar downstairs and bring them to the table. We opened a tab at the bar and had to walk 2 flights of steps with our drinks for the restaurant to then combine our bar tab with our tables check. Very pointless to do that if they were going to combine the two checks anyway. Besides that, great food, drinks, and ambience. Would go again.
Very nice restaurant. Service was great - everyone was very friendly and courteous. Food was very good but not outstanding, hence a bit overpriced. Mojito was very good but mostly ice!! Cool interior, like other reviews needed my iphone flashlight to read menu. Overall we really enjoyed our meal.
Great food, great drinks. Interior and ambiance is unique
Been there several times before, love it. But 3 of the 4 of us were sick not long after eating.
Drinks were over priced and the lighting is to dark. The food and service was very good.
The food was delicious. Portions were big enough to take leftovers home. Nice atmosphere and attentive service. The mojitos were great. We will definitely be going back.
I made reservations on Open table. I specifically noted that this was Wed anniversary and that I would like a table with a nice view. We ere seated right next to cash register and it was not romantic by far!. The waitress was very pleasant.
Went on a Saturday. Nice service. Did not feel rushed. Food on other hand was a little underwhelming.
Awesome birthday dinner here!! Incredibly festive drinks, delicious food, and fun environment. Definitely a memorable experience and will come back very soon!
Christmas staff dinner.
Went into philly for one night to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Seen this restaurant on google had very good ratings decided to check it out. Wasn’t too skeptical but i wasn’t let down. The food was amazing the ambiance was very laxxed and chill. The wait staff and hostesses were amazing as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all visiting philly.
I had a reservation for 8 on a busy Saturday night and when a ton of extra people came and our group became 18, they accommodated us so smoothly. The service was really exceptional. The food, drinks and ambiance were also excellent.
Delicious food, especially the selection of ceviche! And the mojitos are delicious as well. I highly recommend for foodies. Good healthy selection as well!
The food was delicious. The ceviche appetizers were large portions and very tasty. The team that waited on us were very helpful.
Great , I love Cuban food and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Went on the last day of Restaurant week and was very pleased with everything I had. wouls recommend to others
The ambiance was amazing and quite spacious. Both the ceviche and salmon were well cooked and portions were very pleasing. The dessert was a tad bit too heavy for the stomach. Overall I was very pleased and would indeed come back here again.
Went for restaurant week, started out really nice, hostess greeted us and walked us to our table. We waited a while for our server to come around, when he did he was polite and friendly. As the night when on, service was horrible. He took a while to come back and see if we wanted a second round of drinks with our dinner, and after coming back with the round we never saw him again. Dessert came out and we waited for utensils, nobody asked us if we even liked our food, or drinks and then some random women who claimed she was our server dropped the check without us even finishing our drinks or dessert. I felt rushed and like they did not want us there. Worst service for how much you pay for dinner, and very disappointed in this as I liked the food but I felt unwelcome.
The food was excellent and the service was exceptional.
I'm not giving 5 stars because the night was a bit hectic for them. I must say we went there during the restaurant week and they were busy. So, I felt they were veeeery slow. We ordered drinks (just a beer) took them like 5 minutes to bring it.
The chicken croquetas and the mojito shrimp ceviche were WOW dishes! The ropa vieja was very good too! The salmon was ok.
It was restaurant week and I ordered from that menu. Perhaps that is why food was not as good as I experienced in the past
Food was pretty over priced for it's overall level of inadequacy.
The food was delicious. I loved our waiter. He was attentive and very nice. The food came out quick and the presentation was beautiful.
My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday and also for Restaurant Week. The atmosphere is quiet with festive music quietly playing in the background and the entire establishment, including the bathroom, is dimly lit. Julia, our server was very attentive and was helpful with menu suggestions. The mojitos my sister and I ordered were tasty, but not strong at all and not at all worth the $10 price tag. The starters were good. I enjoyed the shrimp ceviche and the chicken croquettes. However the entrées took FOREVER to come out. Sadly, my rice was lacking flavor, but it did have a small piece of aluminum foil within the meat. The manager did assure me that it was an oversight and explained the way the meat was prepared. She asked if there was anything else I wanted in place of what I ordered; I just wanted food without foreign objects in it. The replacement was promptly brought out but by then my experience was tainted. The chocolate flourless cake was moist and the tapioca was smooth. The best parts of the meal were the chocolate cigar brought out for my friend's birthday and the service provided by Julia. I would have given 0 stars, but Julia was very accommodating even with the shortcomings surrounding the food. I do not plan on returning as tonight's experience is not one I'd like to repeat.
We have several allergies and our server and the staff did a great job making our entire experience A plus
Came here for restaurant week. Had a prefix meal my date and I each picked something different. Dessert was amazing, apps good, main dishes alright. The cocktails not good unless you like mojitos or very sweet drinks. Glad we came for half the price for restaurant week. Definitely not worth the hype. Great service.
The food was horrible. It was a waste of over $100. I will never eat here again!
Went to Academy of Music
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. The staff was especially attentive to my daughter's nut allergy
Food is incredible and the staff is extremely attentive and accommodating.
The only drawback is that the restaurant, especially the third floor, is too DARK! We could barely see our food. Please rethink the lighting,
The food was so bad my date and I just sat there and talked and didn’t eat, and paid $75 :( It was SO loud here! We were at a tiny table 2 feet from each other and we could barely hear. HOWEVER, the staff were awesome! Hostesses and servers were all super friendly which is the only thing this place gets any stars for. Won’t be back. I don’t recommend it to anyone .
Excellent service and food. The downstairs ambiance is warm, rich, and inviting.
Great meal, great service, great time. Always enjoy eating here
Delicious food and drinks.
We went during restaurant week. The food was very good but we were cold in the restaurant. It was very quiet maybe because of the Eagles' game !
Very good. Been several times. Was really noisy upstairs
Fantastic flavors. Favorite Philly restaurant. Third visit.
