Alma Cocina Ratings and Reviews
There is a reason why this place is so busy. It's that good. Alma Cocina features fresh takes on Mexican cuisine with the chef drawing inspiration from across Mexico and the Caribbean. The service is impeccable. the drinks are great and there are plenty of gluten free options - so much so that they label the menu items that contain gluten because they are few. Tip: the flan is just amazing. you don't want to miss it.
Unengaged staff, not necessarily rude but very unattentive. Our waiter was very polite but he didn't inform us as to any of the specials or what any of the food actually was and being that it was Valentine's Day my fiance was really looking forward to enjoy steak and we did not find out until after we had ordered that there was actually a steak special that night at which point it was too late to change the order. The fish that she ordered was very Bland and tasteless add the parchment paper that it was served in began to come off and get caught up in the rest of the food. Other than the food itself a side note when someone is spending over $100 at your restaurant it is very rude to sweep right next to the table that you were sitting and Clank the broom into the dustpan over and over and over again as if we are not sitting right there. I would never come back to this restaurant nor would I ever recommend it to any of my friends if anything I would suggest not eating here.
The food and service were great considering what a busy time of day it was (1145 – 1:45pm).
I think the restaurant should staff-up during this time; our food didn't arrive until an hour after we were seated and they forgot the order of one of our party of 8.
A lot of the entree’s was not clearly labeled. We ordered a meal that was recommended by a the waitress which was $27 and it was waisted because of some sauce that wasn’t labeled on the menu. The portion was very small for the price. The restaurant atmosphere was awesome. The waitress was awesome to. So overall the entree’s could be better labeled.
Restaurant was not easy to find since its attached to the hotel. Parking was not available but inside the hotel. But the restaurant validates your parking pass.
It was loud inside and there wasn't a band. Seemed more like a sports bar. Had huge bar, great drinks. Food was pretty good too. Service was informative, since it was our first time there he helped us through the drink and food menu.
Would recommend for hanging out downtown Atlanta.
The overall atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was great the food was average at best. The steak tacos were so chewy I could barely even eat them. The pork belly appetizer was amazing though. Their drinks were extremely watered down. I had a spicy margarita and it tasted like water and tequila mix. Overall decent experience.
Excellent with a modern twist to Mexican food...vegetarian options available! Chicken was perfection!! Salsa verde was awesome. Rice and beans were perfectly cooked.
Service was great and she was knowledgeable of the dishes served and made great recommendations.
The food was not only amazing but the way the waiter gave a little presentation about the background of what was on the menu made it the experience even better! I could list all the great food but the whole menu would be here. The best & a MUST have is the Tequila Cubes Reposado: FGR Herradura “Double Reposado"
We have stopped here three times in the past three years on our way to or from Florida
The food is always fresh and delicious. The wait staff is exceptional. The ambiance is nice but could be improved with a little dimmer light. ( which the hostess addressed for us as soon as we asked)
It’s a great place to stop for some delicious and healthy food.
My business colleagues were in town for an event at the Capitol the next day. They were in from DC, NY, Austin, and Dallas. You guys made my coworkers day especially considering it was a turn around trip for most of them. They were very impressed with the menu options and flavors. I was happy I chose you all for dinner! Cheers!
Awesome - found on Yelp and will go back. We did the 3 salsas and 3 guacamole tray - with plantains and tortilla chips - this could have been our meal. We shared the fried avocado tacos - they were awesome. We did order the churros and I hated them - they have a new recipe and it looks raw on purpose instead of crispy dough - I was credited back. We will be back!
Awesome place. We were seated in the atrium on a bitter cold evening and it was great. Felt like being outside but nice and warm and gorgeous / those lights!! Food is amazing, margaritas were very good. The roasted corn and the sweet plaintain side items were outstanding- both are a MUST. Just go eat here - it's soooo good.
