The fried chihuahua cheese alone is worth going here for, everything was delicious.
Food is good, a little Spicy for Latin food..My husband is from Dominican Republic.( dont like spicy, nor do I). Overall, We enjoy food and music...
you guys all suck dick. The food was horrible. Underwhelming.
My friends and I were raving about Alma Cocina the whole entire time we were there. The service was amazing, the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE, and the atmosphere was great! Would without a doubt, I will be back and I've told so many people about this restaurant.
The menu is very unique. Once I dived into the fried cheese dip I was in love. The empanadas are delicious. Buttery crust like the crust of a homemade pie.
We were sited promptly and greeted by the waitress. We had the chicharrones and the pork belly. They were very good. We should have stuck to the small plates. I ordered the lobster taco, the lobster came and it was not done. They exchanged it and I did not get charged for it. Management was very apologetic. For small bites and drinks Alma it’s very good, but entrees were not memorable.
I chose the restaurant because of proximity to the Rialto. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food (especially the ceviches). This was my best Mexican experience in Atlanta.
Did not enjoy the evening, won’t be back.
Alma Cocina offers upscale Mexican cuisine and a great wait staff.
One of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant. The guacamole is INCREDIBLE, in all variations they make. The fried plantains were my fave with the guac and salsa. Great experience. Food was a knockout, Their tacos are AMAZING!
Once again -- Amazing. The first time I went, the food was amazing. So amazing, that I went back the very next day. I was lucky enough to get Jerry as my waiter again, and my GOD is he great. The first time, he performed better than I could have imagined. The second, exceeded my expectations and I think he needs a pay raise personally. Awesome Job Alma Cocina.
Delicious! Best meal I had in Atlanta. I will be back.
food came out too fast, drinks came out too slow
Great food. Not your typical Mexican
Staff was super engaged and knowledgeable. Food did not disappoint fromtheir recommendations either. Excellent place for great service, food, and drinks!!
For dinner engagement before a downtown event, this was a good location with a very nice take on old foods (tacos) -- a great menu. So that we could all get a chance to taste a variety, the four of us shared 4 different Taco meals of 3 tacos
(pulled pork, chicken, avocado and fish) so that we each got a mix of our favorites. They were very fresh and creative in the ingredients. As we are all seniors, we had no room for desserts but the choices looked good.
Great food, drinks, and service. Will definitely come back again soon!
A must stop when in Atlanta for business. Great food and service.
Alma Cocina is my go-to restaurant when visiting Atlanta. The food and service never fail to please me.
Went there the second time with a large party and it was awesome again!
Unexpectedly I dined twice at Alma Cocina this past week and it did not disappoint. Just a short walk from the Georgia World Congress Center, their modern American interpretation of Mexican dishes has stood the test of time. Food was as good as I remember from a visit 3 years ago: fresh, flavoursome and attractively presented. Our group of three shared small plates, mains and deserts. Warm ambiance, albeit a little dark and noisy adjacent to the bar. Quieter seating is available near the back and in the portico facing the adjacent Ritz Carlton. Serving staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. Draft beers available and lip-smacking cocktails, try the Amatitán which is fruity but packs a punch! My latte was underwhelming, but coffee is obviously not their core business.
My overall rating was because of three below average factors for the price paid - Level of service (we had to ask our server multiple times for stuff that we had ordered, seemed very uncoordinated), it was extremely noisy (there was a table next to us where people were drunk and using foul language - loudly) and we were sitting close to the entrance and every time somebody walked in, cold air was blowing in which made it very uncomfortable. It seemed a relatively high end place but I felt it wasn't good overall value for money and we would not go back there again.
Came for lunch and had the cod street tacos. Comes with a side of rice and black beans. Just the sides themselves were delicious! The tacos were amazing! We will definitely be back!
We had a great time!
The food was outstanding, drinks were even better.
The server was very good and attentive to us. Several different people brought things to our table, all very nice.
The KC steak option was really good!
the carnitas tacos were very overcooked, very dry and crunchy. We showed the meat pieces to the server and she took them back. The beans (for the table) were very salty and unedible. The shrimp tacos and the pork shank tacos were very good.
Restaurant did credit the 2 carnitas plates and the beans.
Everything was delicious 😋 we all enjoyed the guacamole and salsa sampler! The tacos were pretty tasty ! We want to come back when it’s warm and sit outside!
We are visiting from NY. Came Friday around 6. Dining in the back was quiet -which was fine. Food was pretty good. Hubby had The mole chicken. I had the pork tacos: great seasoning. Rice and beans were flavorful too. Shared the grilled octopus. Small portion. The single tentacle was puny. The quantity for $15 was disappointing. I’ve had a larger portion at other places for the same cost. Even so the octopus was perfectly cooked and very tender. Would probably come to it again - maybe it would have been more lively with a group or a later time?
The is right in the Ritz hotel, felt so fancy lol....but seriously the food is so good, definitely a place to hit up in Atlanta!
Love the food, but the chef doesn't do any exceptions. Honestly, is it so difficult to order two different tacos? Or serve the fried queso at lunch? That was the only disappointment. Other than that, it's awesome.
Delicious red snapper entree with sunchoke sauce. Very Good service. We had yummy desserts too: the cinnamon ice cream and coconut tres leches
Food is creative, excellent - no, really excellent - and the staff knows the menu well. Both the taste and the presentation are top notch. The main restaurant is quite loud, but the outdoor seating is perfect for a group that wants to be able to have great conversation and share the delicious eats (yay for round tables).
So many delicious things to recommend...the guacamole and salsa trio is a great first bite to share. Tapas: the scallops, several ceviches, empanadas (such a taste delight!) were all delicious. Main dishes...we enjoyed the roasted chicken mole and the snapper along with a variety of the street tacos (chicken tinga and the cod-we got it grilled) but the fried avocado tacos? Seriously. You must try. The esquites, recommended by our amazing server, is a delicious table-size serving of street corn well well worth the order.
You will not be disappointed with Alma Cocina...if you like food and fun!
Terry was an unbelievably knowledgeable waiter. He really enhanced our experience. The food was fantastic, particularly our red snapper and duck entrees.
Superb food and drinks in a very stylish location. The salsa and guacamole tasting were very good. Goat sope was special, if you like goat. Impressed with the tequilas. I would return next time I'm in the city!
Love everything that we ordered! Perfect for date nights.
Tacos are good but it's disappointing that you can't pick two different tacos. You get two but you can't pick two different tacos. I ordered the avocado tacos but I did not want two of them. I wanted one avocado and one fish. Doesn't make sense. Seriously, why? Two avocado tacos gets boring quick. Please change this "rule". Rules stink, especially when you're paying for food in a nice restaurant.
Good food, and we were served by the wonderful Mr. Patrick who brought a personal and friendly touch to the evening meal that we had.
Patrick our server was amazing the place was clean and our experience was greaT the only issue was the table next to us had a gentleman who thought we wanted to hear his whole conversation when in reality we just wanted to enjoy our wonderful server Patrick and our food!! Great setting!!! Oh and the pork chop was the best thing I ever tasted kudos to the chef!!
Food was great! Service was excellent.
We will be visiting this restaurant again.
If your worried about the price then you shouldn’t be dining in Atlanta.
We had a great experience.
Great food, nice ambiance, Interesting menu, interesting vegetarian option, a little pricy
