We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week and are positioned perfectly for downtown corporate and social group and private dining.
Alma is operated by Fifth Group Restaurants, owners of Atlanta favorites South City Kitchen Midtown, South City Kitchen Vinings, La Tavola, Ecco, El Taco, Lure and Bold American Events.
First time at Alma and we will definitely be back! The food was incredible! We ordered tequila drinks, appetizers, tacos and a dessert and all of it was phenomenal. The service was great too. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks/food came out in a timely manner. Can’t wait to go back!
Excelente opción para comer comida mexicana con un towue de distinción
Very best Mexican restaurant in Atlanta! Visited once for lunch and once for dinner!
The gaucamole trio was to DIE for. So so so good. And the tried and true fried avacodo tacos? Yum. What a fun take on Mexican Food - and great service too.
The food was outstanding and the suggestions from our server could not have more spot on. The octopus appetizer was great, charred and tasty. Their house special tacos were definitely worth it. They’re pricier than the street tacos but they’re unique and served in large potions. Also, this place knows how to make a margarita. You won’t go wrong and will want to return.
Fabulous from the service to the food!
My spouse and I went here because it is a celiac friendly resturant. It did not disappoint, our server will was uber friendly and knew his stuff. Definitely reccomend it.
Far from your average Mexican restaurant with an inspired menu, expertly prepared. Wish i could have tasted everything--would definitely return and highly recommend.
I did not find the prices to align with what was delivered to the table.
I didn't know fried avocado was a thing, or how much I needed it in my life until I had the street tacos. Life changing! Our server was very nice and professional. I can't wait to go back! 😊
I ate at Downtown location. The cuisine was very unique. Try the guacamole trio for sure. I had Jumbo Mexican White Shrimp taco - it was expensive but worth it. It was Southern/Mexican fusion - grits and sweet raisin salsa really made the dish memorable. My wife had beet salad and tuna tostada - both excellent and a friend had the fried cod street tacos - they were just ok imo. Server very nice and helpful but we felt rushed at the end. Also, the piped in 'thematic' music was too loud for my tastes. Overall, excellent experience well worth the visit!
The food, service was great as usual. The pork belly bite and squash blooms were the best.
Goat and cod tocos were outstanding.
We were in Atlanta for a conference, and the restaurant was close to our hotel. The food was a great twist on authentic Mexican cuisine meets Southern-style traditional. For example, the shrimp and grits tacos were amazing. Fabulous service, great cocktails, and the ambiance made this one of my top 5 vacation meals.
Alma was fantastic. Service was actually faster than we would've wanted, but how can you complain about that? The food was authentic and unique Latin cuisine, not just your standard Mexican restaurant fare, but something for everyone. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with very low level lighting that we enjoyed. The roasted corn guacamole was absolutely incredible and the Whole Hog Street Tacos were spicy and delicious. We had a few fattier pieces of meat that I could've done without, but I'd go back and order the same thing in a heart beat. Highly recommend the salsa and guac sampler. Two of us split that and one order (3) tacos and were stuffed when we left. Give it a try!
The food was great but the service was remarkably bad. Our waiter kept apologizing but empty apologies are kind of worthless.
Perfect from start to
I love Alma's for the uniqueness of the food and always getting to try something new.
Good food and a modern take on Mexican food. They emphasize plantains which is nice and a more Honduran take on Mexican.
Room Temperature is A tad on the chilly side, so if you are cold natured bring some form of cover or a light jacket.
Our group went to Alma Cocina before a concert. The restaurant has a great vibe. Energetic but not overly noisy. Service was perfect. Our waitress was on point in her suggestions. Lots of interesting flavor combos on the menu. The food delish. My Narangarita was so good I could have had one or two more! But I thought the prices were a little too expensive for what it was. $15 or so for 3 very tiny tacos which in turn made the entrees priced a little too high. Flavors, ambiance & service super good. Value...not so much.
I had the steelhead, one of their signature dishes, and it was dry as well as tough to cut.
I am in Atlanta on business regularly and never miss an opportunity to eat at Alma’s. Food and service are always fantastic. Servers know the menu inside and out and can direct you to what you might like. Great flavors and mix of ingredients.
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! I ordered the fried avocado street style tacos, and they were the clear favorite of the table. The grilled octopus was yummy. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. So yummy.
Food & margarita were exceptional. Hope to get back to Atlanta to try more menu items. Highly recommend
I always enjoy visiting Alma, but absolutely loved a few of the dishes I tried the other night. The Albacore Tuna Tostada, the Grilled Octopus, and the desert I had (I can't remember the name but it had a creme brulee like toping) were amazing. Service, as always, was perfect. Will be back soon!
It was my birthday, the food was amazing and our server Isabella was lovely. Thank you for the experience, I highly recommend.
There is a difference between efficient service and being rushed - this felt like the latter. And not because the restaurant was busy - but because they just don't pay attention. We ordered overpriced (but tasty) guacamole which had barely arrived when our main courses were brought out - before our pre-dinner drinks (margaritas) had even arrived. The tardy drink was delivered with the way-overused-nowadays "I'm so sorry". When you're spending SEVENTY dollars for tacos - regardless of how tasty or "inventive" they are - I do believe you can expect a bit more on the service. This barely lived up to the price.
Outstanding food and service! We were blown away!
We had a wonderful time and we enjoyed everything!!!!
We dined at Alma Concina for our wedding anniversary and had an incredible time. Mark the manager was friendly as was our server Katie. The food was top notch and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. We highly recommend Alma Cocina!
The fried chihuahua cheese in salsa verde is to die for - so good and unique - a little spicy too. Also love the shrimp sopa on the appetizer menu. It's the perfect size for a meal (for me anyway.) The sampling of salsas/guacamoles (I think there are six) is also amazing - totally worth the $ to try them all. So much flavor. Good atmosphere.
Terrific cocktails at the bar; try the “ice-cube” varieties!
I chose to go to Alma Cocina as a date night for my husband and I but also to celebrate my birthday. The staff there made my visit a wonderful experience. Not only were they sweet and thoughtful about their small touches in making my birthday a great night but they delivered great food as well. I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you so much for making my night!
Excellent service!!! Great cocktails but overpriced. Food was interesting but again, overpriced. Great ambiance.
First time going to downtown to have a nice meal with my girlfriend for our 10 month aniversity and I loved it. Just keep in mind the plates come bigger than expected we ordered a little too much but it was all worth it. Very clean and chill place to spend a evening at.
This place was a great find! Very unique flare on Mexican, would recommend to anyone.
Original food. Some were great. Others not so much. The small plates were better executed that the main courses. All the specialty drinks were great.
Didn’t like the food and my waiter gave me the he wrong tab
Great selections! Recommend ordering multiple dishes and sharing. Ceviches, lamb shank tacos and fried cheese were our choices this time. Very attentive service as well. Will be back.
Outstanding dinner at Alma tonight!!
Food was delicious. I would not recommend 9:30pm reservation as the kitchen closes at 10pm.
