Love it! Chicken taste like capon...
We enjoyed our first meal here so much we returned for a second one. We loved the guacamole and the fried cheese. I enjoyed the octopus as well based on the waiter’s suggestion. We would absolutely be back
Business dinner with great service and wonderful small plates & elevated street tacos.
Best Chicken Mole ever
I try to eat here every time I am in Atlanta. The guac, salsas, margaritas are great but the fried avacado tacos are AMAZING!
In Atlanta for a convention, great find. Awesome food! Get the tamales!!!
I’m increasingly getting frustrated by food and service at Alma cocina. My last visit my empanadas were still frozen inside and while management apologized and said they would take it off the bill they did not. This week I asked for guacamole to be spicy and they charged me a $1 for adding some chili’s .. it’s insane how the food and service has declined
Our server, Terry was excellent. Extremely knowledgable about the menu and made the dining experience a great one.
The food was great, the drinks were even better, and the service both nights I was there was very friendly and prompt. I spilled a drink one night and my server Tiffany cleaned it up right away and put a replacement in front of me just as quickly. Excellent experience overall.
I appreciated that they had several vegetarian options, but they had virtually no dairy-free options and the kitchen could do nothing about it.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. What else could you ask for? I'd definitely go back and recommend to others.
Not your typical Mexican food. Fantastic and creative dishes with amazing flavors. We can’t wait to go back.
Food and service were excellent! A MUST HAVE is the Tres Leches for dessert, it was delicious! Thank you for a great "date night"!
Hate to tell the world that it was that good ! Great drinks as well
Nice place. Great interior. Finding the hostess stand was a little strange; servers kept on pointing us to the general direction instead of one just taking us straight there. Welcome was pleasant but not great.
Don’t eat “outside” which is the atrium of the historic building it’s in. Architecture of the building is great; just doesn’t look like the best place for dining. Shares the atrium with the Ritz Carlton.
Chips and salsa are really good. Worth the extra charge. Chips are crisp and flavorable. Just the right amount of salt.
Partner had Chicken Mole which was excellent. I had street tacos. Also very good. And the margaritas were tasty.
Excellent service and quality meal.
Not a lot of creativity to the food, not as good as La Fonda, actually. Inattentive and slow service despite polite requests.
Our waitress was very personable and explained the whole menu to us with her recommendation from each section. We both had a blood orange margarita with our meal that was excellent. The tacos were exceptional; we agreed they were the best tacos we had ever eaten. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, and we will definitely be back!
Everyone I went with really like their meal and their drink! I was very good!
We enjoy our outings at Alma Cocina each time we visit. The service was friendly and attentive. The pollo al carbon tacos were great as was the bite- size appetizers and flan. We did not have chips, guacamole and salsa this time but they are great, too. One of the best downtown restaurants.
I visited the Opentable site Saturday afternoon to make an early evening reservation and was shocked that no tables for one were available until after 9 p.m. Now I understand why. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding! Luckily, I snagged a bar seat and enjoyed the pork tacos and a basic margarita. I would have stayed for tres leches if I didn't have to rush to the Rialto for an 8 p.m. show. I even appreciated the convenient parking and easy restaurant access from the parking garage. I'm already planning my 2nd visit. See you soon!
Really fun place with delicious food. Enjoyed the small bites and a fish special.
Excellent food! Everyone in our group of 6 enjoyed their selection.
Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Highly recommend the guacamole sampler.
Great food! Loved the street tacos and shrimp tacos. Corn was amazing! Our server, Terry, was great and made the experience so much better! We highly recommend Alma Cocina.
Love the most recent menu changes!! The small bites are AMAZING!!
This restaurant looks amazing, very cozy and well decorated. When we walked in I was afraid it would be too loud, as the place was pretty packed and there was a lot of talking going on. But once we got to our seats, we found we could hear each other fine. There is some sort of acoustical padding over the seating areas that filters out some of the ambient noise. The food was amazing, from appetizers to dessert. We shared a huitlacoche empanada (with some trepidation - it's a fungus that grows on corn, after all) but it was absolutely delicious. As was the guacamole. For main course, my wife had the braised pork chops and I had the snapper. I loved my dish, but hers definitely stole the show. We split an ice cream sundae (with Kix cereal garnish!) for dessert, and it was amazing. My only complaint is that service was a little slow, as I had almost finished my water before the waitress offered a refill. Also, next time we go, we're definitely getting the fried Chihuahua cheese. The table next to us got it, and it looked awesome.
Our waitress was very sweet, but the food took FOREVER to come out. Even the chips and salsa took a good 10 minutes. Our drinks around 15 minutes.
This is not your local Mexican fare. It is authentic and draws inspiration from Central America as well. We had the shellfish ceviche, the roasted chicken mole, and the seared scallops. If you want the snapper Veracruz en papel, you better go early. We missed out. The staff was very knowledgeable of the ingredients and menu - offering us insight into mezcal production, and making confident suggestions if we struggled with making a choice.
Incredible server and service! Great salsa and guacamole! Great fried avocado taco. I’ve had better Mexican but overall it was really great.
Really enjoyed the Classico margarita, salsa and guacamole tasting, and street tacos!
Great food and service, as usual!
Our server had excellent knowledge of the menu and made great recommendations to us.
Definitely go here if you are in town. I was traveling to Atlanta for a conference. This restaurant is an easy walk from many hotels. The food is phenomenal and the menu provides a wide range of choices. The plantain small plate was one of our favorites. Our server was so helpful in terms of recommendations and explanations for both drinks and food. Will be sure to come back the next time I am in town.
Very good restaurant in the heart of downtown Atlanta! A new take on Mexican raising the bar on how to be creative with great ingredients and some of the best service I have had! I would recommend the street tacos and finish with the churros which has to be the best dessert in Atlanta!
We had a great time at this restaurant! Food and drinks were fantastic. Our server, Cosmos, was very attentive to our needs and helped make our night enjoyable!
Fantastic flavors, and delicious food. Excellent service, cool decor, quite chic. This is Nuevo Mexican at its best. Highly recommended.
Food is excellent! Drinks are great! Service was good! My only disappointment is that they ran out of out a sharing side I really wanted to try. However, I'm definitely going back!
Food was amazing and great service! It’s always great trying something new!!
Terrible service! Mayo, creamy ceviche? Extra $8.00 for salsa!
Burnt carnitas! Terrible experience.
