I was a single diner and was placed at a nice table. My server was very busy and told me everything was good. I had the grilled octopus and a salad, two small plates. the server asked if I wanted them in any particular order, so I suggested the salad come first and then the grilled octopus. However they came at the same time. I was in and out in 40 minutes.
Great Food and service as well as excellent Tequila
Food was amazing great service..made a reservation and was taken immediately
Alma Cocina is a long time, downtown Atlanta favorite for us and we always have a good meal here. This is unusual that although we had reservations, they were very polite in accommodating one more guest for us. We love the atrium seating for a larger crowd and although noisy as all hell we could still carry on a conversation. Our order was for food all over the menu and everyone loved their meal. I had pork Tenderloin tacos and would order again in a heartbeat. My husband felt the same about his shrimp and scallop tacos. Our server Alex was a delight, willing to put up with our antics and most accommodating.
The meal and service were outstanding. Alex our server was a gentleman and needs to train the staff in hospitality
A must every trip! Never a disappointment. Always tell others about this fabulous place.
Deceptively pleasant dining experience. Seated quickly and met by a very pleasant sever. This was our first time and he made a number of helpful suggestions. Started with the shellfish cerviche. Quiet spicy but very good. Moved to the Chicken al carbon. Chicken was well cooked, but bland even with the additional dipping sauces. Would have liked a little more heat in the dish. Overall, a nice experience and will be on our list for future visits
Food was amazing!
Food is limited, but very solid. Had a fabulous waiter that helped us through some food allergies
Food was excellent and service was even better. Will definitely go back.
Great food with excellent cocktails and spotless service. Bartender Gio is fantastic
All courses were exceptional as always. Our only disappointment is the absence of some of our favorites- shrimp sope, the veg dish and the collard greens.
As always, wonderful!! Great ambiance; great selection of unusual Mexican dishes. It's our go-to place on New Year's Eve.
It was disappointing that our server allowed us to over order so badly. It just came across as though he wanted to get a bigger tip. When we asked him how he could do that he just said we can box it up. Really not good- he knew we were ordering too much and didn’t say anything! Not ok.
The service from Alex was impeccable, and the food was equally impressive. We tried the sampler of salsa and guacamole’s, the grilled octopus, chicharrones, and pork belly. All of it was fantastic with exciting mixes of flavors and textures. Incredible value given the quality of the food.
The food was delicious! Service was also great. The restaurant was about half full and not loud. The guac was great and we loved everything.
Great service by Will!
Great place!!...super food and atmosphere...great location
Service was great. Thanks Nick. Food & drinks were equally great.
Have the tequilla cube or the naranjarita. Tamal and octopus were excellent.
It seems they’ve made a number of cost cutting changes like pre-mixing all of their drinks in order to dilute them. Instead of tortilla chips, they serve tostadas which you have to break apart to eat with, making eating salsa or guac an annoyance. Looks like the crowds have already started to diminish and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closed next year unfortunately.
Food and tequila was great!! Right near my job
Happened to stop in Alma Cocina a couple of years ago for early lunch. It was a Saturday morning before their usual opening time, but the door was open, and we were warmly greeted. Even though we were the only ones there for several minutes, the staff were very attentive, and we had a delicious lunch from the appetizer menu. We’ve been looking forward for a re-visit. I made reservations for Janice and me for after the SEC Championship game (8:45). The place was full with a waiting list, but we were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. Very nice to have your reservation time honored—not always the case in many places. Our server was Haki, and he was super! We ordered drinks and began to study the menu. Janice chose the Taco Pork Tenderloin entree and I decided on two appetizers. The grilled octopus and the empanadas. A side order of sweet plantains was a excellent contrast to our spicier selections. Far more than we could finish and took the plantains with us for breakfast the next day. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the attentive service by Haki. The noise level was the only negative we experienced, but was to be expected on a Saturday night. We will definitely return on our next trip downtown. Thanks again to Haki!
Amazing experience! The atmosphere was awesome and the food was incredible. Not your typical Mexican restaurant, everything was fresh and so tasty. This non-tequila drinker had 2 tequila drinks and they were delicious. Would recommend the empanadas and the pork tacos were like nothing we’ve tasted before. A must try restaurant, you won’t be disappointed.
Always the best salsa trio!!
I brought 13 people to dinner at 8:30 on a Tuesday night. The service was terrific. The food was terrific. Our server was terrific. Couldn't have been better.
Great food and great service. Had an assortment of excellent cocktails as well!
The food, service, and ambience was all great. My colleagues and I were in town for a conference, and while we all are very familiar with Mexican cuisine, the offerings here were unique takes. I don't remember the names of the items, so I'll describe them instead. We had an appetizer that was a spicy cheese wrapped in tortillas, and boiled in salsa verde, and it was outstanding. A side dish we shared was a corn with spices item that was a great complement to our main courses. I had shrimp tacos, also excellent. I highly recommend it!
Some of the best flavors and unique dishes I've had in a very long time!
Went to the happy hour 1st. That was fine. When we got to our table, our waiter was very lack luster. Don't order the hot cheese appetizer. It is a waste of money & no taste.
Great food and server, but we had a looong wait for our drinks
Great unique food, amazing cocktails, and awesome ambience. Would definitely return when back in town in the future.
Food is always good. This time I tried the guacamole trio. One had dates in it and it was fabulous!
Often loud when busy, this week night was nice and quiet. Very enjoyable. Totally recommend.
Five of us ate here for my son’s birthday. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. Everyone enjoyed their entrees-One in our group mentioned that the pork tenderloin was a real treat. It was a very pleasant evening and I highly recommend!
Alma Cocina has good, straight forward food. There was nothing too creative but the quality was good. It was crowded and had a lot of energy.
Wonderful restaurant and food was awesome. Highly recommend!
Great! My mom was meeting my boyfriend for the first time & we had a great time at the restaurant
Food was amazing, excellent Tacos. Their margaritas were easily some of the best we’ve ever had! Service was on point and basically no wait time once we ordered food before it was out. Definitely eat here again!
Group of 8. Brought customers for dinner from Houston. We all had a great time.
