Had a very nice dinner of bites small plates and entrees. Topped off with Mexican ice cream. Service was spot on.
Great food, great , great service .. a little cold sitting by the door
It was amazing!
I had been wanting to try the restaurant for a long time since a friend recommended it.
It is a fun atmosphere and like the menu options. My main complaint is we ordered an appetizer and drinks to enjoy first but all the food came at the same time within about 5 minutes of ordering. I was not pleased with that. I got the impression the kitchen must be ready to go with orders pre made like an assembly line. My tacos were not hot. We were there to celebrate a friend’s birthday so I didn’t want to complain. The delicious margaritas made for a good time. I will not order all food at once next time and ask them to make sure it is hot and fresh.
Bartender was awesome. Waitress at table wasn’t as friendly.
Service was very slow and food was mediocre.
Great atmosphere, fabulous food, and super service!!
We really enjoyed Alma Cocina. We don't eat downtown often, but this was the best (non-steak) food experience we've found in the downtown area. We'll be back
This was our second time visiting Alma. The atmosphere is hoping and the bar is always packed. Very comfortable restaurant with exceptional food. The homemade tortillas are excellent! Chicken Tinga tacos and the skinny margarita were my favorite.
Awesome! Great tastes! Loved the guacamole trio and the goat tacos had fantastic flavor.
Alma Cocina is a lovely restaurant located in the lobby of the 191 Peachtree St bldg with inside parking. The menu is influenced by much of South American/Latino flavors. We started with a trio of guacamole dishes, one traditional, one with a fig paste, and the third with butternut squash on top. Each one was really well spiced with the peppers and topped with cojito and nuts. The chips were excellent and accompanied by fried plantain chips for a mild sweet taste.
Our men chose entres of Chicken Mole. The chicken was roasted and smothered with a rich, not-too-sweet chocolate sauce that is typical in Puebla, MX. Served on a bed of mashed plantains, it was very satisfying.
The ladies chose the street tacos, sharing the goat meat tacos and the calamari tacos. Both were really full of flavor and well spiced.
The wine selection was excellent...we agreed we chose a red that we wished had been more full bodied. But a good wine.
Our server, Mike, was attentive and helped keep us on track for an 8pm show time. He offered his recommendations and was well informed. He added value to our experience!
Make sure you get to sit with Gerardo! He is amazing and very knowledgeable of the restaurant. All the staff from the hostess to the runners were very polite and friendly. And the food was outstanding. I would look forward to returning.
My husband and I love Alma Cocina... it's our go to restaurant when we're downtown. We always get the fried chihuahua cheese and huitlacoche empanadas- yum yum!
food and service were fantastic. Great space to hang with friends, festive but not too noisy. Busy but not jam packed.
Great food and great service! I always have dinner here when I’m in Atlanta
Service was amazing. Food even better. Make sure you try “ the main squeeze”.
My first visit to this restaurant was a nice experience. We parked in the 191 parking deck and received parking validation. This made it super easy to get to the restaurant without having to walk on peachtree. I made reservations and was seated quickly. Our waiter Haki was very knowledgeable. He knew absolutely everything about the food and drink menu! He left no question unanswered. I ordered the chicken signature taco and it was seasoned with perfection! The drinks were very good and not too strong. The ambiance was awesome. Nice place for a date! We will be back.
Cocktails are amazing. They have their own reposado tequila that is perfect for sipping.
Very tasty food, drinks, and our server had great energy. It's kind of loud so probably not suited for business dinners.
I recommend the salsa and guacamole tasting and the fried cheese is incredible! Fun bar scene. Great service, great food!
locale grande ma intimo. Personale delizioso. Era io nostro anniversario di nozze e ci hanno offerto 2 calici di champagne al nostro arrivo. Per dessert ci hanno sempre offerto un pezzo di torta con tanto di candelina. Hanno reso speciale la serata. Grazie
We had a large party on Saturday night. The staff was very accommodating and provided great service. Food and cocktails were exceptional! Thank you Alma Cocina for taking care of us. Look forward to coming back again!
Great food! Good service. Wonderful atmosphere!
Great food and service!
Greeted and seated ahead of our reservation time. Hostess and waitress congratulated is on our anniversary. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and have awesome recommendations based on our taste. We ended the meal with surprise churros and champagne!
The first time I went to Alma Cocina, I had a wonderful time at the bar. The bartender was new from California. He was very enthusiastic and provided us with input about various drinks and dinner options. I was excited to go this time but was very disappointed and doubt I will go back. I had reservations this time and we sat in the back at a corner table. As soon as we were seated, Ricky came over to get our order. He seemed as though he didn't have time to wait and we didn't know immediately when we sat down what we wanted to drink or eat. He disappeared and didn't come back for a very long time. When he returned, we ordered the salsa and guac sampler and a margarita. The margarita consisted of mostly ice and was watered down. I requested a bar straw and Ricky was quick to correct me into telling me that it's called a cocktail straw, and they don't have any. We ordered the seafood ceviche and a few more snacks and when Ricky returned about an hour later, I had removed all the ice from my glass so I could drink the remainder of my cocktail. I strategically placed the ice on my plate, which appeared to be a problem for Ricky. He said "Is there a problem?" I was annoyed at this point and said no, just bring us the bill please. The food was good, as it was the first time I went. The service on the other hand was a good deterrent. I would recommend if you serve cocktails without straws, you use a different ice to serve them with. If I ever came back to dine, I would sit at the bar and if this guy Ricky was assigned to my table again, I would surely leave.
Loved the ambience and food options. Definitely will return
Creative Mexican cuisine!!! Loved the variety of flavors.
Excellent tequila. They had trouble getting us seated in spite of our reservation, so the restaurant offered us a couple of apps on the house - very classy! I only wish they would let you mix and match tacos instead of committing to a whole plate of the same thing.
Amazing food and service. Definitely recommend a visit here and sample their offerings.
Tasty food and great service
Great food and service!
Thank you to Hilton hotel concierge who recommended Alma Cocina. Great choice - get the pork belly app.
We had a great experience at Alma Cocina. Excellent staff, great ambiance, good food. We'll definitely be back again soon!
My wife & I had lunch there on September 19th. We had the fish ceviche as an appetizer. That was excellent. Unfortunately, the same could no be said about our main courses, a steak taco with rice & beans for her and a pork sandwich for me. Both dishes were inredibly salty, even the rice & beans. And what was worse, our waitperson basiclly said that's the way the dishes are prepared. I don't believe that for one second. Surely, nobody who has any cooking experience deliberately serves a "salt bomb"
Great food and drinks. Our meal came out late, but the manager came over and apologized
We came here Specifically because of its proximity to our hotel and because of my dietary restrictions. I have Celiac and its always a challenge to find safe places to eat when I travel. The staff at Alma Cochina Went above and beyond. Our hostess informed the server about the allergy before he even got to our table, When he arrived he was knowledgeable and considerate, offering crudete and gluten free tortillas to avoid common fryer items like chips for the salsa. He double checked with the kitchen about the entree I was interested in and was able to help me switch to something else that was AMAZING and not going to make me sick.
All in all I was blown away. The food was amazing, our flour-less chocolate cake made me so happy, and the service was impeccable. I will be here again the next time I come to town for sure!
Great experience and highly recommended
