Allred's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have avoided Allred's in my previous trips to Telluride thinking that it would be a tourist trap. Allred's is on the top of the gondola between Mountain Village and Telluride. The view of Telluride is fabulous. But what surprised me was the food and level of service. My wife and I shared a caesar salad. My wife had the salmon and I had the elk. The caesar was fantastic and my wife enjoyed her salmon. But it was the elk that set the meal apart. Frankly it was remarkable. My only complaint was the wine list. It was rather pricey and you were realistically looking at $100 plus wines. Be sure to arrive early and enjoy the incredible view at the bar.
We had a delicious meal celebrating our father’s 70th birthday! This restaurant offers the most spectacular view and although pricey the food is amazing and worth it! Definitely a special occasion restaurant or must do when visiting Telluride. Mario, the GM, was polite, accommodating and funny! He enjoyed entertaining my 6-yr-old son. Great food & service! A top 5 restaurant in the world in my book for overall dining experience!
Amazing in every sense of the word. The service was impeccable - the wait staff was very attentive and addressed every question and request as if we were an old friend even though it was the first time to the restaurant. The sommelier was very pleasant and was a wealth of knowledge and gave suggestions that fit our group of 4 without any hint of pretense. The food was perfect -- the elk was the star of the night.
Having to take the gondola to get to the restaurant makes restaurant a destination to get to, but you are rewarded with an unforgettable view of Telluride, especially at sunset with hues of gold, pink, and violet. Allred's is worth every amount of effort to reach and should be a stop on any itinerary to Telluride.
Excellent all around - friendly staff, outstanding food (the lamb was exceptionally good), incredible views and fun to travel to (gondola access). A little pricey even by Telluride standards but worth it. Mario, the manager, paid special attention to our 9-year-old son, for whom it was a very memorable meal.
I have been there several times, but only a couple of times in the dining room. The extra cost of eating in the dining room is not worth it. I got the worst table, right in front of the kitchen, and the food came less than 5 minutes after I ordered. I hadn't even had a sip of my drink yet!!! I was looking for a relaxing evening and I felt like I was at a MacDonalds - hurry up and eat and leave. I like the bar much better. They know how to pace it for me and it is half the cost! Don't go to the dining room unless you are in a big group!
