Allred's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Excellent all around - friendly staff, outstanding food (the lamb was exceptionally good), incredible views and fun to travel to (gondola access). A little pricey even by Telluride standards but worth it. Mario, the manager, paid special attention to our 9-year-old son, for whom it was a very memorable meal.
I have been there several times, but only a couple of times in the dining room. The extra cost of eating in the dining room is not worth it. I got the worst table, right in front of the kitchen, and the food came less than 5 minutes after I ordered. I hadn't even had a sip of my drink yet!!! I was looking for a relaxing evening and I felt like I was at a MacDonalds - hurry up and eat and leave. I like the bar much better. They know how to pace it for me and it is half the cost! Don't go to the dining room unless you are in a big group!
We went here as our special night out in Telluride. While it was a pricey meal, it was worth it! We were hoping to catch the sunset from the bar, but unfortunately the restaurant didn’t open until 5pm. My husband and I enjoyed several craft cocktails at the bar until our kids and my brother-in-law joined us, at which point they were all welcomed at the bar and treated to special crafted drinks (non-alcoholic for the 4 and 8 year old). We moved into he main dining room, although the bar menu was calling to my brother-in-law, and then all thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meals which included a beautifully decanted bottle of wine with dinner. There was a nice young adult menu, but our kids went for soup and/or an entree off the main menu. We sat by a lovely fireplace and all really enjoyed our time! Thank you, Allred’s for a lovely meal and memory!
Had Thanksgiving dinner at Allred's. The meal was superb and the service was outstanding . . . from the hostess greeting to the server to the sommelier to the restaurant manager. Would definitely do it again. My "value" rating isn't based on the food but on the wine list. I have been to many restaurants all over the world -- from cafes to 3-star Michelin restaurants -- but Allred's is the only one that I have encountered that has so few wines (like hardly any) priced under $100.
My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary there. My elk tenderloin was delicious and so was her roasted chicken. For our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert which was a very nice touch. This is a five star type dining experience with casual to formal dress being acceptable. Our server was excellent although I can’t remember her name which I regret because she was awesome! The price is that of what you would expect from a five-star type dining experience. Dinner for the two of us was $145 and we left a $30 tip. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Telluride.
Excellent meal, but overall experience was hampered by immediately being told we would have to finish our meal in an hour and a half (not a warm reception) and then having very slow service. Perhaps the time problem they have is more a function of slow service than guest lingering.
Food was great and our waitress was very nice and friendly, but she must have been stretched too thin to provide timely service.
Allred's is amazing. Beautiful views - although window seats are tough to come by - delicious and progressive menu options, great service, and an extensive wine list.
This was my 3rd visit, and I've not been disappointed yet! Pork chops with a cherry reduction & cheesy grits last time, elk loun with parsnip puree this time, both equally amazing!
Sometimes the crowd is a little much, but pick a later time for dinner or an off night & you won't be disappointed!
Note entrées run $40-60+ per person, so for me/ us, this is definitely a special occasion but worth it!
Our server Crystal (she had blonde hair) was AMAZING! she made our experience a 10 out of 10. We were at the restaurant as our only night out in Telluride on our girls weekend. She not only provided us with excellent service, but also help us decide on our hike the next day, and even gave us some shorter options for our hike that were beautiful and not marked on any map. she provided us with a not only a great night but a great day the next day as well. She was very knowledgeable and so was the rest of the staff. Will definitely be back during the winter and will go back and ask for her as our server again. Great night out with the girls... and crystal!
We had eaten at Allreds two years in a row, and were looking forward to our third time there. As the hostess seated us, she apologized for the noise level and offered us our choice of two tables. Unfortunately, it was so noisy that my husband and I could not even have a conversation. In addition, we were not offered a bread basket until we asked for one AFTER we had received our entrees. There were lots of "locals" at the restaurant that evening, and they were greeted warmly by several staff members. We felt rushed to finish our meal to make room for "regulars."
