Allred's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary there. My elk tenderloin was delicious and so was her roasted chicken. For our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert which was a very nice touch. This is a five star type dining experience with casual to formal dress being acceptable. Our server was excellent although I can’t remember her name which I regret because she was awesome! The price is that of what you would expect from a five-star type dining experience. Dinner for the two of us was $145 and we left a $30 tip. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Telluride.
Excellent meal, but overall experience was hampered by immediately being told we would have to finish our meal in an hour and a half (not a warm reception) and then having very slow service. Perhaps the time problem they have is more a function of slow service than guest lingering.
Food was great and our waitress was very nice and friendly, but she must have been stretched too thin to provide timely service.
Allred's is amazing. Beautiful views - although window seats are tough to come by - delicious and progressive menu options, great service, and an extensive wine list.
This was my 3rd visit, and I've not been disappointed yet! Pork chops with a cherry reduction & cheesy grits last time, elk loun with parsnip puree this time, both equally amazing!
Sometimes the crowd is a little much, but pick a later time for dinner or an off night & you won't be disappointed!
Note entrées run $40-60+ per person, so for me/ us, this is definitely a special occasion but worth it!
Our server Crystal (she had blonde hair) was AMAZING! she made our experience a 10 out of 10. We were at the restaurant as our only night out in Telluride on our girls weekend. She not only provided us with excellent service, but also help us decide on our hike the next day, and even gave us some shorter options for our hike that were beautiful and not marked on any map. she provided us with a not only a great night but a great day the next day as well. She was very knowledgeable and so was the rest of the staff. Will definitely be back during the winter and will go back and ask for her as our server again. Great night out with the girls... and crystal!
We had eaten at Allreds two years in a row, and were looking forward to our third time there. As the hostess seated us, she apologized for the noise level and offered us our choice of two tables. Unfortunately, it was so noisy that my husband and I could not even have a conversation. In addition, we were not offered a bread basket until we asked for one AFTER we had received our entrees. There were lots of "locals" at the restaurant that evening, and they were greeted warmly by several staff members. We felt rushed to finish our meal to make room for "regulars."
Wonderful overall experience. Beautiful restaurant and unbeatable location. Delicious food and impressive wine list (incl. very knowledgeable sommelier). We got lucky and sat at a window table offering an amazing view of Telluride; all table locations offer enjoyment. Fun bar with a view as well if you are not interested in the main dining room. Will certainly return.
I thought that Allred's would be good... it was fabulous! The view of the mountains with the sun setting was spectacular, and really every table has a view. The food was very good with the elk being first rate. It is not cheap, but well worth the expense, especially for a special occasion. We certainly enjoyed it for an overnight stay in Telluride. And traveling there via gondola was very special.
We actually ate in the Bar (with its menu) as the restaurant is prohibitately expensive for what you're getting. The view and the gondola trip up is worth the visit once, and we would recommend to friends for a date, but would likely never eat there again ourselves
Our main server in the bar was pretentious and not able to do us a favor by closing the side window (we sat in the middle row between bar and window and my wife was by the window;she had to put a sweater on for the comfort of "other guests), but I guess that's to be expected at one of the more exclusive places in town. Allreds is a is only for those who need pampering.
The restaurant requires a gondola ride to access it and a spooky dark ride back down the mtn. Otherwise the restaurant views are stunning, the food is out of the ordinary and delicious. The service was friendly and professional. The hostess especially was charming
For a special occasion, this place certainly fits the bill. Every dish we ordered had a great presentation and tasted even better! The wait staff was extremely attentive to us and had great knowledge of the menu. They provided great recommendations.
The view puts this place over the top! If you can get there early, you'll have a better chance at sitting by the window overlooking the town of Telluride. You can't beat it!
We will definitely be back!
This was our second visit. We love the view and have been lucky to have a table next to the window. Beautiful rainbow and summer storm rolled thru. The only thing that was odd was the hostess reminded us there was another reservation after us which made us think we had to hurry.
Perched high above the town of Telluride, Allred's simply can't be beat for happy hour sunset views of the incomparable surrounding mountains. More than that, the restaurant boasts some of the best cuisine in the area -- and during the region's multiple festivals, offers an available alternative to the crowded eateries below and in Mountain Village. Our party of four pretty much spanned the culinary spectrum from beet salad to salmon, pasta and veal scaloppine, and found every entree to be deliciously prepared and satisfying. The wine list is top-notch, and servers make a point of promptness and courtesy. Allred's even boasts its own enclosed entrance right at the St. Sophia gondola station, making for an easy walk in all weather.
The best dining experience I've ever had. We got married that afternoon and ate there for a celebration. The food was absolutely wonderful. The service was perfect. They didn't hound you but always seemed to know when you wanted something or were finished. Yes, it is expensive. But everything in Telluride is expensive. Should I visit Telluride again, I will definitely go there.
