We love Allred’s and enjoy dining here when we visit Telluride. The view is unbeatable. Our dinner this time was not on par with past visits. None of the steaks - elk, bison or beef - were cooked to requested temperature. Most needed to go back to the kitchen to be cooked to medium rare or medium as ordered. Only one was over cooked. Service was nice but not attentive. Our server needed to be flagged down whenever we needed something - another cocktail, more water, food issues, etc. Although we were disappointed this time, we will come back next trip and hope they have worked out the kinks!
Great view. Service was good. Food was good. I did not feel as welcome as expected though.
Food was great. Staff was attentive but overwhelmed by spring break crowd.
Superb. Highly recommend.
Great Telluride restaurant. Wonderful food and ambience.
Mario runs the best restaurant experience in Telluride when you consider everything.
Very classy and comfortable place. We weren't rushed through our meal which allowed us to enjoy the fine wine while having good conversation.
The Elk dish was exceptional, along with the pork chop and bison entree.
The wine list is great, however pricey. An alternative is to buy the wine by the glass.
Great service and food!
We took our 4 children for a special dinner on our vacation. We were lucky to have a clear night and the view was unlike anything in the world! Allred’s could just attract people for the view and serve sub-par food, but the don’t! The food was as good as the best steakhouses in bigger cities!
Our children are ages 6-12 and were the only children there. The kids menu was great but we were very aware that not many people bring kids, certainly not younger than ours. We did manage to spill a few drinks and there were some tears (normal for us:)) but the staff was sweet and helpful, no judgement.
We also ordered wine and the sommelier was lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. So happy we made our reservations months in advance and enjoyed this special place.
Crowded but still an excellent experience in the bar and the restaurant. Mario is wonderful
Great service and our meals were excellent! Had the elk and it was cooked perfectly. Great wine list.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere! We plan to return again soon.
I gave four stars because, while we had a very nice window table, the enormity of the dinning hall lacked privacy and intimacy. I wouldn't want to dine in that area. The food was excellent and service, especially from the female sommelier, was outstanding!
Had the elk, lobster bisque and the prime rib and it was amazing. Have been all over the country and I would definitely put this at one of the top. Great service as well! Very accommodating!
We had an amazing night! The service was impeccable and the food was superb. The wagyu was out of this world...yes pricey but as long as you know that going in you will have an amazing night.
The location and views from the mountain require a visit to the restaurant. The food is good yet it is not as good as some of the other places in Telluride. The cost of Allred's is very high so the value is questionable.
Should offer smaller portion otherwise excellent
We love Allred’s, but from the moment we sat down it was are you ready to order your entree. We would like apps first. Are you ready to order your entree. We would like salad and a second course. Are you ready to order your entree. Yes. In and out in an hour. We realized that we wouldn’t be able to drink a bottle of wine in the time we had to order. Love eating in the bar the other days!
The Porcini Rotelle was absolutely amazing! Although I am Gluten Free, I tired a bite of my partner's. Would love to see Allreds offer a GF option for this fabulous vegetarian entree. The Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake was also fabulous.
This has been my "last night in Telluride" go to restaurant for the last 7 years. Food has always been good, love the ambience, particularly a window table at sunset, and the service has been generally OK in the past. This past time, poor service.....and now reconsidering if I will return in the future.
Poor service and asked to have water and drinks refilled more than once. Had the misfortune of sitting next to a table especially set up for 16 people. Waiter and server MIA once large table began ordering cocktails. Servers had no idea what entrees they were serving and wanted to put plates down quickly, even if that was the wrong entree. Nearly had my Colorado Rack of Lamb dumped in my lap by a hasty server. Couldn't get attention to order dessert. Then the kicker....about 30 minutes after arriving home I received a call that I was given the WRONG BILL to pay for dinner. I owed about $20 more than the other bill I paid. Usually I check my bill but I was so irritated about waiting for decent service I just handed the waiter my CC right when he handed me the bill, as I had no idea when he would reappear. Person who phoned me could barely apologize. Evening was very disappointing, and this was even after meeting the GM Mario, who seemed like a very nice guy and there for the last 8 years, yet the first time we met. Probably the last....
Fantastic meal. Recommended
Amazing views but quite pricey. Good for special occasions
Extraordinary view. Lovely ambiance. Great service. Dinner was fine but not memorable. Probably would only go back for a cocktail
Stunning setting and very good service. Portion large and not appetizing. Good but expensive wine list. Noisy.
Food and service were outstanding. We were very fortunate to have been seated next to the windows as requested.
Great restaurant in an unbelievable setting! Food was fantastic!
This is a good restaurant, with a huge wine list. So big is can be hard to make a decision. Food is good without being extraordinary, but is quite satisfying. Service is attentive and good, window seats make it an excellent venue.
The food is top notch and dependable. Every single course perfect and the wine list amazing. Expensive but worth it
One of a kind setting on top of the mountain. A special treat when in Telluride. Although super busy, the service was great and food outstanding.
All was first rate, food, service, environment and view.
A true telluride novelty! beautiful experience! We didn't want to leave
Annual trip to Mountain Village and birthday celebration. Excellent as always. Highly recommend the veal scallopini.
Been to Telluride many times & heard of Allred’s but never tried it. Sorry about that now.
We’ll never make that mistake again on returning visits.
A beautiful place with awesome views at a unique location at the top of the Gondola.
Food offerings were many & the food excellent. Service was attentive.
Loved our experience there.
It was our last night in Telluride and it was the perfect ending to a magical vacation. Food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding.
Excellent service, food, and wine
Excellent views from the mid-mountain gondola station looking down to Telluride. Elk was excellent and the staff are professional and knowledgeable.
Allred’s is amazing, there’s no question about it. My only gripe was that apparently since we booked thru Open Table they’re allowed to bump our res to someone that calls. Had I known this I would’ve just called...I booked three months out since it’s a tradition for us to eat there the last night. They bumped us to 5pm, which rushed us on the slopes to get in to be ready for dinner. Other than that the meal was great as always.
We went for an anniversary dinner and it was almost a great dinner but.... We showed up for our reservation and was seated next to the windows with a great view as the sun set. With this we thought we were in for a great treat but that was not the case. First our server Tom had no enthusiasm to his job and you could tell he did not want to be there. His wine knowledge was ok but you could tell he just wanted to get you to go with the more expensive options. Unlike the other (older) tables around us the sommelier never came over and visited to help with picking out wine for the occasion. The Bison Tartar was a great start to the meal. For our main courses the wife had the cider brine pork chop which she said was good and I had the lamb chops which were good but the parsnip puree was cold. To end the evening I was excited to see the dessert menu but he came to the table and offered us the option of "buying" us a Crème brûlée or chocolate cake for our anniversary. There was no option given nor time to ask since he just walked off. I figured since I had a soft drink it was an auto refill but it was never refilled through the night. At the end he brought us our check by tossing it on the table and saying thanks before walking away imminently. The water refill guy had more personality then our server. I understand young people are treated differently at nice restaurants but that shouldn't be the case. If the food was marginal or the view was sub par than this would of been a 2 or 3 star review.
