About Allgauer's Restaurant - Doubletree Hotel
It's casual, it’s sophisticated, it’s delicious, it's the place to be. The dining experience is elevated to a new level with an atmosphere that is casual, sophisticated, and contemporary. The artwork is the signature work of commissioned artist Daniel Ramón. Even the table tops are works of art! Eight of the tables feature Ramon's artwork under glass. Sultry shades of orange, red and yellow adorn the walls and fabrics. Warm cherry woods, rich coffee colored button-tufted leather banquettes, unique architectural inspired lighting and contemporary touches all help create the exquisite experience. Allgauer's is the perfect place for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Allgauer's Restaurant - Doubletree Hotel Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time there and I was there celebrating 2 birthdays. The décor was nice, food was plentiful, drinks were great and the service was Awesome. I will definitely be returning, I would like to try several menu items and Fish Fridays. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to visiting again in the near future.
My Prime rib was all grissel the waitress came back from the kitchen and said another prime rib would be from the same cut so it would be grissel also so the chef told her to suggest a ribeye. It was very tasty but went home hungry because by the time I cut off all the surrounding fat it was a small price of meat left. This was so disappointing since my son got married at the hotel the restaurant is in and everything was so good for the reception I had high expectations for the restaurant
This was advertised as a Prime Rib Buffet dinner however there were no other options of food available. My family & i went there expecting to have multiple choices to choose from. We were disappointed not only in the menu but the food wasn't hot. We definitely WON'T be going back there!
Was hoping for a good option for finer dining. The food wasn't bad but the waitress was definitely not high end. More on a dennys level. Didn't help that I had just ate at a 5 star steakhouse a few days earlier and was expected that level of service. Also, The hostess seemed overwhelmed by having 5 tables at 9pm. This could be a good option for finer dining with some changes.
Not a good experience at all. I'm guessing they were understaffed. Waited 30 minutes for the cocktail menu, afterwhich I decided to walk to the bar myself to get drinks because our waiter was swamped. Bartender wasn't there because he had to help the back of the house with something. After I got a hold of the waiter, he had to make the drinks for us because the bartender wasnt available. I paid for the prime rib buffet. No one was at the prime rib station my entire time there. The buslady had to come over and cut my slice after she saw me standing there for 5 minutes waiting. I didnt want to be ignorant and cut it myself. All the patrons decided to get the buffet because they could tell that the one waiter couldn't keep up.
Went here for my moms birthday. It's your typical hotel restaurant. The food is pretty good but can also be a little bit pricey. They have specials on Fridays and Sundays for unlimited fish fry and prime rib. Those deals will get you the biggest bang for your buck.
My daughter and I went for Christmas dinner and both had the buffet which was really lacking. We definitely would have been much better off ordering from the menu. The staff was wonderful and was the highlight of our dinner. I might try again sometime without a buffet.
We had on several previous occasions very enjoyably dined at Allgauer's in Lisle. We decided to go to Allgauer's at the Double Tree Inn in Alsip, Illinois, for Christmas brunch. The food itself was very good. However, the ambience and service were major disappointments, especially since it was Christmas Day. We were seated in a "ballroom" dining area - just 4 walls with doors leading to the hotel or the kitchen. By contrast, Allgauer's in Lisle is a very agreeable venue, having views of an outside pond, trees, etc.
Although we were served champagne (after we had to ask for it), the champagne was served in large, squat glass tumblers. We asked our waiter about this, and we were told that they had run out of proper champagne glasses.
It was quite loud and noisy - more like the crowd you'd find at a Super Bowl party. The ballroom decor was entirely forgettable. It was all rather insipid, with the carpet being an especially appalling design.
To sum up about Allgauer's in Alsip : Food was good, but ambience and service left us cold.
