When we visit Carbondale, we make sure that we have reservations to eat at Allegria. The room is so inviting and relaxing, and the food is always better than one can imagine when reading the menu. There is a wonderful wine list and we love the creative drinks.
As a longtime resident it's hard to believe that this was my first visit to Allegria.
My guest and I were quite early and because the restaurant is small, we were greeted by the owner/chef and invited to sit briefly at the bar. We chose to go for a walk around town and when we returned, he again greeted us warmly and were seated at a lovely table for two by the window.
Our server, Savannah, immediately came over, welcomed us with a smile and menus, took our drink order and returned with the water of our choice, a description of specials, and then gave us time to review the extensive menus.
We chose to share the mussels, which were Price Edward Island Green Lipped in a light garlic, tomato cream sauce with delicious warm bread for dipping. The house rolls were also a delight with a choice of fresh butter or olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Next, we had a spinach salad with a thick apple dressing on the side. A perfect compliment for our mussels. For our entree, we split the large seafood lasagna, which included salmon, mussels, shrimp, and crab. It was perfectly cooked with a bit of sauce left over for more dipping.
We finished with the Molten Lava Chocolate cake and a side of vanilla gelato.
Each course was incredibly delicious, well prepared, served efficiently in a warm friendly manner by Savannah and every request promptly handled.
We were thanked by the owner again and several members of staff and we had spent two hours of fine dining in a restaurant that is now among my favorites in the valley. I will be back soon.
I highly recommend Allegria for one of the best dining experiences at a reasonable price in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Owner is always around to say hello, makes you feel like you are at home. Wine selection is great and a price point for everyone. The salads are nice size and made with fresh ingredients. They were happy to accommodate a request off the menu. Great comfort food for the Italian in all of us.
I haven't eaten at Allegria in about 3 years, but I'll add it to my regular rotation. Great food, great service. I love the small room atmosphere of the interior. Reservations are a must as this place is popular.
Perfectly delightful and delicious!!
Really excellent food and wonderful ambiance. Can't recommend enough
Its REALY LOUD in this resto! Add some drapes or rugs!! I would come here more often if it was quieter.
Small and a bit noisy, but the food is excellent and the service is friendly and very good.
One of the best restaurants in the Roaring Fork Valley!
Great service, great food and fun atmosphere
One of the best restaurants in the Roaring Fork Valley, and a locals favorite. Great menu with unique daily specials, and a wine selection to match.
Love the food and the service (Savanna) was outstanding. Will definitely come back again and try more dishes.
Fantastic meal and service. Top notch all around
Gracious, delicious dining in a quaint, cozy setting. Serivce is terrific, responsie but not intrusive. Very ice wine list and a creative menu makes Allegria THE place to go in Carbondale
Rather disappointed with the Braise night special.? Clam chowder and baked potato.
Great neighborhood place. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. However, I hope not too many people decide to eat there or we won't be able to get in.......
Allegria is one of our favorite restaurants in Carbondale. The food is always great and the drink menu is fun and whimsical. We always get one of the specials and are never disappointed.
Love this place. Top notch.
Allegria was a great spot for dinner and the food and service were excellent. It’s a little crowded and probably due to the above. They need to expand!
Very popular local bar and restaurant downtown Carbondale away from the high prices of aspen
The beef Wellington was very good crust slightly burned but didn’t detract from the flavor. Our friends loved the fish special. Definitely worth the drive. We’ve eaten there in the summer and they have a large deck as well
Osso bucco was tough.
Always great at Allegria! The food and service are excellent. Thanks Andreas for being a great host and chef!
This was our first time here. What a wonderful experience. The food was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make the food and atmosphere exceptional. The cocktail menu is one to explore and try. Go if you can. You won’t be disappointed. Make reservations. It’s small and quaint. The chef/owner will greet you as well.
Perfect service, attentive without disruptions, with right-on-target recommendations. Delicious food with many tempting options. Reservations were honored, without a wait. A lovely dining experience!
We went for our anniversary and the food was amazing. The service was top notch and we will back. Get the mussels!
One of our family favorites in the valley. You can always count on great service and amazing food. The menu is extensive so there are always options for everybody at the table. My wife is gluten free and there are great options for her too
Great staff ... friendly, attentive and truly professional... including the owner! Menu is interesting and the food is most enjoyable. Carbondale Main Street and the Allegria environs are authentic, fun and full of very pleasant folks!
Friendly service and really nice having the owner stop by and chat with us...it was fun being seated at the window table too!
Our server Savannah was excellent! Explained the menu to us in detail and made great recommendations. Lovely atmosphere and attentive wait staff! Can’t wait to go back!
From the moment we stepped in the front door it was personable the aroma in the air was lovely, the tablesetting carefully done, the attitudes of the personnel were great, I can’t imagine having eaten somewhere else in Carbondale that could be this good
We made a reservation, and they were unable to seat us for 20 minutes.
The owner seems to really care about the quality of his establishment. And noisy restaurants seem to be more the way it is these days.
Excellent food, service and value! First time going there and will definitely be back.
Excellent wine selection. Creative dishes. Definitely we shall return.
Could not have been better! Wow, were we impressed! Four of us from the Denver metro area were in Carbondale and looking for a warm, intimate, quiet, unpretentious restaurant to celebrate a 60th birthday. After reading online reviews, Allegria was the one that consistently came up. It was the right choice in so many ways. The setting was beautiful - warm, inviting, intimate, yet upscale. The service was impeccable. Tia did an AMAZING job for us - always attentive, genuinely personable, wonderfully competent, supremely knowledgeable, and delightfully interactive in an unobtrusive yet caring way. Her warm smile made us feel like we were treasured guests in a friend's home. The food, oh, the food. Save calories another time and indulge in the amazing blend of fresh ingredients, complex sauces, imaginative presentation, and the best flavors and tastes imaginable. Our table had the bruschetta with avocado and burrata to share, the beef stroganoff, veal schnitzel, butternut squash ravioli, spaghetti with baked meatball, and trio of gelato for dessert to share. Starting the dinner were the most wonderful fresh baked rolls...we were politely fighting over them until Tia graciously brought us more. And more again. We all raved about our dinners as we sampled what each other had ordered. Our friends returned to Denver today but since we have another few days here in Carbondale, we will return to Allegria before we depart. Chef Andreas is a delightful individual who is masterful at creating both an environment and dining experience that is memorable, exquisite, authentic, and crave-worthy. Give Allegria a try. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
We were so surprised that Allegria surpassed even our friends' highest ratings. We loved the lamb. The location is superbly situated in the center of Carbondale's Main Street. I will make this a regular!
Always exceptional dinner and perfect service
Quite possible the best dinner I've eaten out in Carbondale.
