Alioto's Ratings and Reviews
From making reservations to paying the bill, our experience and dinner was fantastic. Your hostess was friendly and accommodating (and should be doing stand-up comedy). Our waiter Pavel, gave great recommendations for crab cakes & sole. The ravioli was creamy & wonderful. Will recommend!
The food was great the view of the wharf amazing . The wait staff was courteous and friendly. We did have to wait nearly 10 minutes before the waiter came to our table initially ( he was more interested in the table next to us (that was seated after us)). Overall it was a great dining experience.
Great old school restaurant right on the water. It's not just for tourists - we are local. The wait staff was professional and coordinated. Great service. Great San Francisco sourdough with olive oil to munch. Drinks came fast. Water glasses filled. You want something, you get it. Great food. The crab was fresh and delicious. Tables look out onto the water with cute fishing boats.
We were in SFO for a 60th birthday celebration. There were 10 of us (4 under 11) ranging in age from 18 months to 65 years old. Jose was our waiter he was very accommodating and made all of us feel welcome. The service and food was excellent all made better by having Jose as our waiter. All the other staff were great as well. The seafood risotto was awesome
This is a "must" stop for me and my co-worker each year we come in to San Francisco for Dreamforce. The menu is incredible and the service is something that is rarely experienced these days ... you are made to feel genuinely special and important. They have maintained high standard manners in the service industry. And the food is absolutely delicious.
We were in town for a business conference and decided that we wanted to find a seafood restaurant on the wharf. Alioto's was able to accommodate our group of 8 in a short window of time. The service was very friendly, and we appreciate how courteous they were. The food was also outstanding and we recommend the Swordfish, Cioppino, and seafood pasta!
Booked in for 1 for dinner which is always intimidating but the wait staff made me comfortable. The Caesar salad was authentic and definitely something to have if you enjoy an original. The truffled sea bass was excellent, with potato mash, porcinis, and roasted pearl onions. What a nice treat from the ordinary.
The wait staff were second to none. Very attentive and always on the ready for any need. The service definitely sets this restaurant apart from others. What a nice experience. Overall a fantastic experience.
The food was great, but the service was terrible. The server barely came by our table; water glasses were left empty, and we ended up going up to the bar to get our own drinks because we saw them sitting up there for so long. Definitely not the quality of service I would expect for the high price tag.
Food was very good. The bouillabaisse was just okay. The seafood was good, but the broth lacked that vinegary/acidic quality that I like. Service was excellent. Love the Italian mom and pop feeling you get there. On a side note, my daughter had left her purse there. They were great to help her out.
This is a Fisherman’s Wharf institution with a charming view of the harbor waterfront! The signature grilled Dungeness crab was spectacular and I highly recommend it. Seafood spaghetti was also wonderful. The prawn cocktail was served with large fresh shrimp but the cocktail sauce was milder and less appealing than I like, but still good. A fantastic dining experience!
We had a 5:00 reservation as we were going to a show afterwards. We waited no less than 10-15 minutes to be greeted at our table. This is an upscale establishment and we were very disappointed that no one even greeted us for so long. We actually were about to leave when a gal noticed and a server came to greet us.
The waiter set the tone for the whole meal. Sarcastic answers to questions, lack of attention during the meal. On the whole the meal was not the hoped-for excellent fresh seafood meal. Two of us had the Petrale sole pan fried and it was overcooked and way too much breading was used.
I'm sorry we wasted the one evening we had in SF for several years at Aliotttos
As usual, Aliotos never disappoints! I’ve been coming to this restaurant ever since I was either 5 or 7! The staff is always perfect! We had a wonderful waiter! Everything was so beautiful and perfect! As always! I’m 66. I will b returning again! Thank you again for the amazing dining experience!
The food was great. The greeting was friendly and outgoing. We were allowed to be seated prior to our reservation time. We decided on appetizers mostly for our meals, but they were delicious and just the right amount of food. I chose the Crab Bisque Soup and the Bay Shrimp Cocktail. One of us ordered the Crab Cake and another the Shrimp Pots, they looked so cute, but were very full of flavor and taste. We finished with desert, one ordered the crème brulee, but, I ordered the desert sampler. As you can see there were all the deserts in small compact servings which gave one a taste of decadence. The crème brulee and cannoli were superb and the sherbet and gelato were to write home about. Definitely recommend Alioto's and am looking forward to having a meal there with my husband in February.
