    Best location for folks catching a show at the Masonic Auditorium. Staff was very nice! Food was good. Dessert was a bit disappointing & took too long.

    Booked on OpenTable and arrived at the restaurant with elderly parents and it wasn’t even open. Not impressed esp since it was the night before Thanksgiving.

    Excellent. Varied menu with appealing vegetarian options and a terrific cocktail menu. The bacon Mac and cheese is outstanding. The choclate dorda café is the perfect after-dinner drink. And the ricotta doughnuts will make you wonder if you’ve ever *really* had a doughnut before. Service was attentive and friendly. We were a group of 7, so dined upstairs, which was cozy and quiet. Food was uniformly plated and served without being rushed. Cost was about $100 per person with cocktails, appetizers, entree, and dessert, so very reasonable for SF dining. Will absolutely be back.

    I organized a corporate group dinner for 11 people on 11/14 at 6:30pm. The group was all staying at the Grand Hyatt about 2 blocks away so it was an easy walk. I was able to book the reservation about 2 weeks prior to the date with no problems. We were seated upstairs where there was another large group of a similar size having dinner. It was hot upstairs when we initially sat down but they turned on the air and it quickly cooled down. I would classify the experience as a European style dining experience in that nothing felt very rushed. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert. For this group and this situation, it was actually perfect. If anyone would have arrived super hungry or in a rush, then I would not recommend dining here. We had a lovely time. The cocktails were delicious and there was something on the menu for all of our team's dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and 1 salmon allergy). It took us about 3 hours from the time of our reservation until we left the restaurant. We had a lovely time and were able to sit and talk and enjoy each other's company without feeling pushed out.

    My husband really enjoyed his pork chop over sweet potato puree and apple chutney. I had a beautifully prepared Chilean Sea Bass. The menu also offered more casual fare like burgers. We sat outside and chatted some with other patrons as we were all headed to a concert at the Masonic.

    I reserved indoor dining on OpenTable, but when I got to the restaurant, they told me only outdoor tables were available which was unfortunate for a chilly SF evening and a lack of ambiance. The hostess said the restaurant does not differentiate between indoor and outdoor reservations, but then why have the option on OpenTable? The whole thing felt odd. Other than that the food was good and I would enjoy a meal there again indoors if I can!

    Every thing worked out quite well, we got seated right away after a choice of inside or outside (it was a chilly evening and also noisy right on the street outside) so we sat in, had an attentive waiter, the food was outstanding, had the mushroom fettuccini , brussel sprouts, truffle fries and cranberry salad; all delicious. Prices are normal for SF. not a quiet restaurant, so be prepared for the noise level.

    The food was delicious and well prepared, and the service was attentive and careful, and the waiter was helpful in guiding our choices. And really, what more do you want in a restaurant? This place will never make a "Ten Best" list or anything like that. But as San Francisco gets more expensive, it's nice to be able to find a casual place with decent food that doesn't cost a fortune.

    I stumbled on Ailment while exploring the streets near Union Square. I had the most delicious chicken apple walnut salad and the best server/bartender. I ate every morsel and wanted more. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

    First time at Aliment and it did not disappoint. Cocktails were unique and amazing. Service was OUTSTANDING and the food will bring us back for more. Definitely recommend this place, only regret it’s we didn’t try it sooner.

    Food quite good. Service a bit offhand. though no fault of the waiter, we tried to substitute a biazarre macroni cheese side to a chicken dish for a vegetable but got told that would be extra. Totally unnecessary, especially at the price. In addition to the mandatory CA tax the restaurant added an employee health insurance charge - but still expected a tip of 20-25%! Wouldn’t go again I’m afraid

    Good food near lots of theaters around Geary/Union Square area. Nice outdoor space in front. The day we were there the service was a bit slow and I was glad we had added a lot of extra time before our show.

    So good! We were a party of 7. Our waiter Sam was helpful attentive and made great suggestions. The Brussels sprouts were great. The muscles were delicious-get extra bread to sop up the most amazing sauce. Truffle fries were perfect. The ricotta donuts are a must! We shared a delicious Sancerre. Everyone was very happy with their food.

    This is our long-time go-to before theatre at ACT. Always consistent, comfortable but interesting menu, great cocktails and friendly, helpful staff who are proud of their restaurant. The proverbial "what's not to like?"

    The restaurant was small with outside dining and tables downstairs and upstairs. Food and cocktails selections were good, a nice variety - offering fried chicken. The service was good, not a long wait. Not good for large groups but for meeting a friend or date night. I would go again when visiting SF and recommend dining there.

    Nice casual place to eat. Wings were a bit steep in price. $19 for 8. Pork chop was perfectly cooked. Chicken sandwich was a bit bland. But overall was still a positive experience

    Came 10minutes early for our reservation and even though the place was empty, there was some weirdness about seating us. We ended up getting seated upstairs in what seemed to be an overflow area with uncomfortable chairs, meanwhile there were comfortable booths located downstairs in the main dining room. Super noisy with tv going, music and noisy chit chat downstairs from the 3 female employees. Our waiter, male, was extremely attentive and was able to take my soup off the bill as it was just horrible. My daughter got a chickpea burger and said it was tasteless. My grilled veggies were tolerable but, again, no flavor. I also got the prawn appetizer that were huge but the sauce that came with it was weird. It was pretty/trendy downstairs. More of a bar scene if you ask me.

    We chose Aliment because we needed a place to eat before seeing a show at the Geary Theater and the menu seemed well-balanced and not unreasonable. I'd say that everything about our experience was "fine", but nothing about it was particularly compelling or memorable. The food was OK but nothing stood out, and the space was comfortable enough but nondescript. The service was good and staff was helpful regarding making sure we got out on time. After-dinner coffee options were limited to regular American-style coffee--no decafs or espressos. I would recommend to a friend needing the same thing we did (location and mid-level menu), but I wouldn't recommend it as a destination meal.

    Omg, the food was absolutely amazing, my wife and I had the greatest time. She order the Steak Ribeye, and I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The drinks from the bar were totally awesome, we had the Moscow Mule , wow was it delicious. Definitely going back to Aliment 😁😁

    First time there and will definitely be going back. All the food was delicious, especially the fish sauce caramelized brussel sprouts starter. The cocktails were unique and amazing. And finally the service was very nice and laid back. Really a great dinner!
