"Great food, comfortable drink" is the mission, but at Alice’s, it's about much more than that. With a broad deck that overlooks the main stretch of Lake Hopatcong, fresh produce from nearby Halsey Island, and a naturally simple (but rustic) decor, Alice's is a place that celebrates lake living and good company.

Lake Hopatcong resident Alice Szigethy opened Alice's in June 2009 to expand the selection of lake destinations. In this reinvention of a building that had been a series of eateries over several decades, the space features vaulted ceilings, reclaimed-barn-wood walls, comfy booths, and a full bar that extends from the airy interior to the breezy deck. A mahogany seating bar runs the length of the deck so guests can sit and enjoy a clear panorama of the water, and an austere metal awning gives outdoor diners a shady place to enjoy the view, the breeze-and, of course, the food.

Our meals were delicious, service good ( waited for a replacement fork for a while). Only problem was the noise level. Very difficult to hear the people at my table due to the acoustics.

Great place to meet friends for drinks and aps or for an all out dinner. Not fancy dress, but clean casual. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Would definately recommend going and I'm sure we will be back. Enjoyed the Charcuterie board , Deviled eggs and fish tacos.

The food was very good overall. Unfortunately we took an 8:30 PM reservation and their kitchen closed at 9:00 PM so needless to say our meal was a bit rushed. In addition we were the last people in the resturant. I would highly recommend this resturant, just don't go late in the evening.

1st time there Sunday. The menu was in transition to lunch so we decided to wait. Both had salads with grilles chicken. Delicious. I was disappointed with the 'tater tots' - very overcooked and hardly any parmesan garlic. Our server was so great we didn't want to complain about them. The young girl who cleared the table was brand new and very attentive. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and will return.

Overall a good experience. Our server was attentive and the food was very good overall. One drawback was we were told the kitchen closed at 8:45pm for food orders, but our reaervation was at 8:30pm. Food was all brought out at once. Would advise the restaurant to not take reservations 15 mins away from closing time!

Absolutely LOVE everything about Alices! Just a tiny suggestion. When someone comes in to celebrate their Birthday or any special occasion, Alices should maybe do like a free Dessert, just makes people feel good & special on their day!

The view and setting are beautiful and the food was good. We shared a roasted cauliflower dish which was okay but, needed a sauce. I had bacon cheeseburger sliders which were good. My wife had a bacon jam paddle melt which she enjoyed. Overall, we liked the restaurant. The lunch menu needs to be elevated a bit.
