Aliano's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Food was good but service not great. We asked for leftovers to be wrapped but they were never delivered. We wanted dessert but we were never given the opportunity. Just a bill. It was before 10pm on a Saturday, but we felt like we were being rushed out. Probably won’t be back.
Took 15 minutes before they brought bread to the table. We ordered an appetizer but they delivered my husband's salad and my soup first, then the appetizer, then our dinner. My husband ordered the rib and chicken special that was suppose to come with mashed potatoes but they served French fries instead and it took 45 minutes to get our dinner. Needless to say, we were somewhat disappointed with our visit this time and doubt that we'll go back in the future.
The food and service has improved since the last time we were at Aliano’s....we commented to the server about the improvements and were advised it is under new ownership....so if you were disappointed before you might want to try again. The Italian sausage appetizer was much better since the last time we ordered it the sausage was mushy. We also ordered the eggplant parmigiana with a side of angel hair and that was very good also! Good Luck to the new owners.
The food was very good, but there was some confusion on salad dressings and what flavor was used. Salad dressing seemed store bought. The main course food was very good. The wine and draft beer seemed to take a long time to get because they said they didn't open the wine cases yet and the restaurant was busy. In general the food was tasty!
I was not satisfied with our meals tonight. I have been there many times and had parties catered, but I was very disappointed in the food tonight. It was very bland. It seems the quality of food changed. The service was great, but I can't go back if the food isn't good. I found out that the ownership changed this month.
The food and service was just OK, nothing to get excited about. It was not very crowded for a Saturday evening, maybe that's why. If they want people to go the their establishment, they need to be much better. I'd like to see them in Batavia for a long time.
This was the second time we have been to Aliano's - we were not impressed with the food or the service the first time but we thought we would try again - unfortunately the same goes this past time.....
spaghetti sauce too sweet, Italian sausage was mushy and how can an Italian restaurant be out of Chianti??
Have been there many times and loved it but this was the WORST. Server was rude, food was incorrect and overcooked then the manage was rude to top it all off. Took over 2 hours on a Sunday evening when there was a total of 3 parties in the restaurant-unacceptable.
The service was so incredibly bad that it over-shadowed the food. I can only summarize the elements of the poor service otherwise I will run out of characters allowed! Forgetful, lying, offensive, rude, dismissive. The food was decent enough for a casual evening out but I won't go back again solely because of the service.
We were seated at a table that had a dirty tablecloth. The silverware was filthy, there were visible pieces of food on several sets that clearly were not washed and simply reset. We walked out immediately. Absolutely disgusting, can only imagine what the kitchen is like!
Food was great. We were told we would have bread and oil at our table but after about 10-15 minutes of sitting we still had no bread or oil. We had to ask a bus boy for some after none had been brought out otherwise the beer and drinks came out quick and food came out in timely manner as well.
We arrived on time. Waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to the front desk to seat us. They didn't have our reservation. They then checked OpenTable and told me that it had only just posted... We waited some more and were finally seated. To sum up how long the wait was, our drink orders arrived an hour after we arrived. They were out of their 2 most affordable wines. Really, what Italian restaurant runs out of Chianti? Each bottle request involved a long wait while they checked and came back to say they didn't have it. There was a similarly long wait for the food, which was barely warm when it arrived. If the food had been warm, it would have been very good. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes, but something was not right. The waiter was actually quite friendly and was obviously trying to do his best in an awful situation. But frankly, I'd never go back.
My wife and I usually love this place and the food is always fantastic, including our last visit. My concern is that something has recently changed. Although the food was still spot on, they were out of many items, including 2 of the 3 appetizers we ordered and they did not tell us until almost an hour after we ordered. The restaurant was not that crowded when we visited, but they seemed overwlemed and understaffed. I think they may have had a mgmt change and are still figuring things out. The GM did put a descent and fair discount on our bill without us even asking so I have hope they will figure it out and we will visit again. That night we had a large group and waited about 2 hours for our food, thankfully we were having a good time meeting with our friends and enjoying cocktails so no one was that upset.
I first went to Alianos for a first date. 2 years later we decided to go again for our 2 year anniversary. We could not have been more disappointed. We remembered a nice, quiet place with good food and service. Instead we returned to a loud, overpriced restaurant without any of the class we remembered.
We showed up , with reservations, without a table. When we did get a table, after arguments between staff, we were given 3 waters for 2 people on a table with paper instead of a table cloth. The waitress didn't know the drink menu, offered no suggestions, and generally was unprofessional.
The food was very bland, without flavor.
In general, do yourself a favor and skip Alianos. Olive Garden is better and cheaper.
This is the second time I've been to Aliano's and I was slightly disappointed the second time. I attended Aliano's on a Sunday evening on a date. The food was outstanding, and the server was quite pleasant, but the price seemed a little steep. Also, the ambiance was quite disappointing. The lights were bright and harsh, there was no music at all in the background (which make silences particularly awkward and everyone else's conversations that much louder) and overall the setting didn't seem as nice as the price point or the reputation would suggest. I had the Chicken Saltimbocca, which was great, as well as the baked clams. My server was prompt in refilling my drinks and we didn't have to wait terribly long for our food. Overall, the food and service were great, but the ambiance was unfortunately sub par.
enjoyed everything except the bruschetta. it was well prepared, but had no flavor that my taste buds could discern. the pizza, chicken marsala, wine, soup, were all delicious. the unsalted butter and bread were a real surprise, and delight. very enjoyable evening.
We find this restaurant to be a very nice place to enjoy an appetizer and a few drinks as well as having the perfect dinner with spouse and family. Mario makes sure you feel like part of the family as the staff that insures all is good. This is that little diamond in the rough that you always leave satisfied and looking forward to the next visit
it was a very busy night and our party of 4 was seated not long after a big group.
You know what happened next...
There were some problems with delivery of our orders and a busy boy delivering bread in one hand and oilve oil in the other accidentally spilled oil on a Coach purse hanging from the shoulder of a lady.
Cut to the chance, our server Mary and the manager were very gracious and made everything right.
I recommend the lobster ravioli and the chocolate cake.
We will definitely return, the food was that good and the service genuine.
In the area for kids' sports tournament and seemed like a good fit for a group of parents and teenage girls. Homey family owned restaurant feel off the tourist track. Let me start by saying our server was exceptional. We were stocked with warm bread and water and everything arrived as promised.
The group order a variety of classics and some off the beaten path items. My roasted salmon with tomato vodka sauce capellini was fine. Better than Olive Garden, but not gourmet Italian. Presentation was a little odd with an enormous lightly fried basil leaf on the side. My daughter ate her entire chicken parm.
The only issues were the salads and the wine list. The salads all came in a bowl with a little rinse water in the bottom. Yuk. This diluted the dressing and helped dressing splash all over while you took a bite. All of our salads were like this, so pick up your game in the prep kitchen folks. The second issue was the wine list. Why do Italian places have so few Italian wine choices, except for the cheap chianti and a $80 bottle of a Super Tuscan. Again, an opportunity missed. Overall value was there and we were well taken care of.
I chose Aliano's because it was in the Batavia neighborhood. I had purchased tickets for an event at Fermilab and wanted a restaurant that was close by. Although the service got off to a slow start, they recovered and we had a great experience. The timing of the courses was good. All of us enjoyed our dishes. I'd go back for the chicken dish I had - can't remember the name, but it was egg-battered chicken over angel hair pasta. YUM! The chicken was cooked perfectly - not overcooked & dry. I would have liked some marinara for the pasta, though (please note that I didn't ask for it). The sauce that was great on the chicken didn't really add much to the pasta.
I loved the way they decorated and also appreciated the extra wall in the large room that provided a cozier feel & likely cut down on the noise level so that we were easily able to converse with one another without raising our voices.
