Aliano's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Took a group of clients here for a business lunch. Food was fantastic, very authentic Italian, red sauce obviously home made recipe. Service was a little slow but servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Took advantage of their half off wine Wednesday. Nice selection. Would recommend to others.
We have been to Aliano's for the past year. First time we went to the October fest 2014. We where very impressed..whole pig roasting ..fresh slices and fresh pulled pork absolutely delicious!!! Not only that full fresh salad bar..Italian sausage... brats....cold and hot pasta salad's desert's and very moderately priced beer ..wine and cocktail's..Since have gone for 2014 Christmas and 2015 Thanksgiving brunch/dinner again can't say enough how excellent the food is and the selectoin /variety to choose...always cooked fresh..and if in need of any special request in which I did...they where there to please!! It's a Italian Ristorante I highly recommend !!!
The food was good, I had veal marsala and garlic, mushroom risotto, and the waiter was friendly and helpful but he could have been more attentive. The food was served by kitchen staff who were not aware of who ordered what. I think with better staff development this could be a great restaurant.
Service was horrible. Salad came before appetizer. Dinner came minutes after appetizer even though the waitress assured us it would not. Bug in olive oil with no apology. Sat with appetizer plates, salad bowl and dinner plates through entire sitting which was very crowded for a table for two. Never once did server check on us before we were finished. Had to grab another server to show her the bug. Wine list not very good. Food was fair at best.
We enjoy dining at Aliano's and have frequently visited for consistently good Italian food and quality service.
Unfortunately, we may not return as the owner turned down our Open Table dining check claiming as a corporation he couldn't cash it at his bank. Frankly, I felt quite insulted as even our server figured out the owner could take the check to any Wells Fargo bank and cash it. Sounds like it's his bank that is the problem and now he will be turning away any future customers who want to use their Oopen Table dining checks to dine at this neighborhood gem.
We went there for dinner after hearing the food was made from scratch. The food was bland and the service was slow. It is just an 'okay' place to go if you are in a pinch. I do not recommend it. I should of suspected that, when it was so easy to get in on a Friday evening.
We thought this place was good, food was good, staff was friendly however for a group of 6 it took us 3.5 hours to have dinner. I love talking to my friends, but just thought it was way to painfully slow. They also ran out of Bananas to have the bananas foster desert, but the owner did go out and get some while we waited so he made up for the fact they were out.
Like the subject says, this was our first time here and after dining, why didn't we go before? When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner, a really nice guy with a big smile. He informed us that a wedding party was arriving shortly and that we might like to sit in the bar as it would be quieter. The bar is very nice and warm feeling, lots of TV's so you can enjoy any sports that's on. Cloth covered tables set the atmosphere and our server was most attentive even though she was busy. We had drinks and took our time ordering as we were in no hurry. Ordered a 16" pizza which was absolutely delicious! Thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, cheese and ingredients.
A very nice evening and we WILL be returning to this neighborhood gem.
Understaffed. There seemed to be only one bus boy for a Saturday night? We asked the waiter to put the kids orders in first as to avoid any whining about being hungry. I'm assuming that didn't happen as all our food came out at the same time. He also never brought the kids their milk. Food wasn't terrible but it wasn't the greatest either. It was just ok. I had the lobster ravioli, it was good but just a bit to much of a fishy taste. My husband had the veal marsala. He had to salt it quite a bit to get any flavor. Upside, kids enjoyed their pizza.
And I've had a lot! The entire menu consists of family favorites from this family owned restaurant. The calamari is the best ever but you can do no wrong with anything on the menu. Wonderful service and the owners make sure all is perfect and you are satisfied in ALL respects. HIGHLY recommended!!!
Overall, I'd say we were disappointed. In fairness, it was Mother's Day and I think they were just overwhelmed. Our reservation was at 5:00 and we weren't seated until 5:40. We then sat for almost 15 minutes with no server, no menus, no water. I ended up getting up to find a server. Oh and at 6:00, when we eagerly awaited bread .... "We are out of bread, so sorry". Really ?? The appys came fast but the main courses came painfully slow and weren't even hot. Taste was good except for my son's fettuccine Alfredo which had a distinct seafood taste to it. Lastly, they offered my wife a free drink for the long delay in being seated ...... they charged us for it on the bill. Maybe give them another shot when it's not a holiday as the staff was friendly and the food I'm betting will be better.
Excellent buffet! Everyone left happy. There is something on the menu for everyone. Alianos is definitely a neighborhood gem. The owner makes you feel as if he was inviting you in to his home. The staff is friendly as well. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation, without one you will be waiting!
We've been many times before, and I've always enjoyed it. Not so much on Mother's Day. I was surprised that they had a reservation left for Mother's Day when I made it. When we got there, however, it was as though we never made the res. The party waited for 20 minutes to be seated, as they seemed to not have any record of our reservation. The buffet was poorly stocked for the quantity of people served. Nothing was offered to make up for the experience. It was obvious from the beginning, they overbooked and were completely unprepared to serve the number of people that presented there. Also because of overcrowding, it was so loud that there was no way to have a conversation. Although I typically enjoy dining here, it will be a while before I get past the Mother's Day fiasco!
Had a reservation for 2 after seeing a play. Arrived about 6:30 and restaurant was very busy but we were seated and then moved to a quieter table by the kitchen. The service was friendly and good.
The food was very good but did seem a bit expensive for what was received. Would recommend to friends who enjoy good Italian food.
Food was good as always. Waiter funny and helpful. A tad too much garlic on the mussels with white wine. I also would have preferred the spinach on gourmet pizza too be cooked/baked for a bit (it was added on pizza after baking)-it was still delicious. Next time I would just change that.
My partner had a daily special : Sauteed salmon with sauteed calamari: excellent!
We'll be back!
I made a reservation a couple weeks in advance for my parents 35th wedding anniversary. We show up and there are dozens of people waiting in the cramped front area. The hostess said it would be a 1 hr 15 min wait for a table. I said we had reservations and she said that it didn't matter. It turns out everyone there had reservations. She was rude and the restaurant offered nothing in way of consolation. It absolutely ruined the night. Overbooking is unprofessional in and of itself but leaving one surly hostess to handle rightfully outraged customers is just disrespectful. I will NEVER set foot in that place again.
Kitchen is slow! slow!! slow!!! So people don't get there food and the restaurant gets backed up. We had a 7 PM reservation and were seated at 7:50. Took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Food was average at best. Table next to us sent their food back as under cooked. Table behind us got their food and complained it was cold - had it packed up and left. Owner was running around schmoozing with customers - should have been in the kitchen finding out what was going on!!! Feel sorry for the servers who went from one table to the next apologizing for the wait. With all the good Italian restaurants in the western suburbs find some place else. Could not recommend this one to anybody.
Reserved a table for two for dinner on 2/14 over a week and a half in advance. Arriving 5 minutes early, it was announced to the packed lobby of people (who had also reserved a table) that the wait time for anyone with a reservation was an hour and fifteen minutes! It is wholly disingenuous and unacceptable to allow reservations to be made when there was no intention of holding the reservation. This runs contrary to the very definition of a reservation. The owner was at the front desk pleading people to stay while throwing her hands up in the air decrying her inability to solve the problem. Finding alternate plans for dinner, proved equally frustrating on a night when everywhere is booked. Obviously, some other customers' reservations were more important than mine.
