Aliada Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We were surprised it. Not what we had expected. Thought it would be nicer dining instead of just a place to eat from the stars it was given by trip advisor and open table. The owner waited on us and could not have been nicer. We ordered several appetizers including saginaki which was fried and not flaming. The bronzini was better than the porgy The wine was very weak. But they went out of their way to please, They served us baklava on the house. They were more than accommodating just not that authentic food wise
Amazing restaurant, first time i tried it and i must say i was really impressed. Food is really authentic and not (american greek). Ari the manager was super great, very friendly and accommodating. Our server was really sweet and attentive. I would def be back as i am looking forward to try the next dishes from their vast menu.
It was a 90+ day outside, and humid. We wanted to be outside but there wasn't a table available, even though we had reservations. So we ate inside, the place doesn't have air conditioning, so we ate most of our meal sweating, as was the waiter, and I'm sure the cook(ugh). Should have left, but due to circumstance we could not. Not sure if I'll return, due to the total disregard of the customers comfort.
The tsipouro shots, wine and grilled branzino with the usual standout mezedes of grilled halloumi, spicy feta kopanisti and octopus made for a perfect summer dinner. We had the feeling that we were on our own private island, seated outdoors and with a comfortable distance from our neighboring diners. The staff were absolutely attentive while also letting us enjoy our meal in peace. Three hours later, every last part of the branzino was sucked clean and in our bellies along with the frappe our server treated us to. Excellent service, authentic cuisine and truly, a destination in Astoria.
Consistently good. We always order the same food since we know how delicious it is going to be. Nice menu choices, people are warm and welcoming. The grilled shrimp is superb; prepare to get your fingers messy. On a down note, it was a bit too warm in the restaurant, even tho the windows were open it was such a humid night we needed more A.C. This particular night the service was off as well. Perhaps they were short staffed.
Aliada is quite possibly the best and most authentic Greek restaurant in NYC and has become a happy staple for my family every time we visit. Having lived in Greece for two years on work, we have made countess disappointing trips to Greek restaurants in search of that authentic village style food...that is until we stumbled into Aliada. The food, service, atmosphere, and staff take us back to a happier time where friends and family gather for a dining "experience". Γεωργιος (Georgios, or George) takes great care of us and is happy to offer suggestions from the menu one might not think to try. Sit back, relax, order enough to share, and finish the evening with a nice glass of Ouzo on the rocks.
We were looking for outdoor dining and a friend recommended Aliada. We sat outside, were not rushed and enjoyed a delicious meal. The calamari was outstanding as was the octopus! Our dinners were equally well cooked and delicious. I would recommend eating at Aliada - it was outstanding!
I've been to Aliada several times as it is close to my house and it's always a good time. I usually get the mezze, which is about 12 or so tapas style plates of different Mediterranean dishes - always delicious and it's a TON of food. But the star here is the octopus - SO GOOD, some of the best I've ever had. The service is nice and friendly, very quick and accommodating, and the wine list is pretty good. Just a great little place to eat in the area.
The reviews were right; this restaurant was excellent, from start to finish. The waiter was attentive, the food was nicely presented and very tasty. The grilled jumbo shrimp were delicious. We were given complimentary dessert and coffee. Will definitely go back.
We have been looking for a local restaurant that serves authentic Greek dishes. Aliada certainly fits the description. The variety of dishes will keep us coming back. The zucchini cakes and saganoki were perfectly done. Portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. Definetly going back to try their falafel.
Looked for a restaurant between the N train and The Noguchi Museum. So glad we found Alaida, a charming corner spot with fresh delicious authentic greek food at a reasonable price. Very clean, nicely decorated, and very helpful service. Worth the train ride from Manhattan.
Great service, wonderful Greek Mediterranean food. But even early on a Saturday night, the place was packed. Maitre D'/owner confused as to who had reservations and whether or not he could respect the reservations made. Tables are right on top of each other and you feel like more than just your friends are at your table. Go for lunch or another night if you want a quieter experience.
Wonderful gyros, non-greasy calamari, very good eggplant rollatini (unusual for a Greek restaurant).
I had been at this restaurant in the winter, on a night when there were very few customers, and both the food and the service were excellent, but this time everything was disappointing.
We had to convince the server that a dish was not for us, we were brought a dry wine that was far from dry, and the meat we were served was really not up to par: overcooked, hard as a rock, with no flavor.
The waiter had a great attitude, but unfortunately he could not make up for what was missing in the food,
Bartender was very helpful in helping me find a wine that suited my taste. Ordered the octopus app and was extremely disappointed. For $18 I got a saucer size plate of chopped octo that was not as tender as expected. The mixed grill for 2 though, made up for it. A big portion of their best. Tasty and satisfying. Great service. Free dessert
