I’ve been several times and love this Greek restaurant. In every way, love it.
Amazing!! The food tasted so authentically Greek & the service was wonderful. They really try to get to know you, and you have a neighborhood feel. :)
Delicious Greek food and wonderful outdoor seating
Second time visiting this restaurant. I highly recommend the Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Lemon Potatoes. Leaves you wanting more. Try the Greek wine.
We were greeted promptly but had to wait a few minutes for a table. Everyone is just so nice and friendly and service was excellent!
Great food and staff. Get the mezede.
Very nice place !
Great service, fish is served in the fish, as opposed to fillets. Side of potatoes were really good. Octopus too!
What a pleasant experience. We were greeted at the door by a smiling hostess who was waiting for us. Staff could not have been nicer accommodating us with a 7 month old.
And oh did I mention the food was fresh and well delicious.
Can’t wait to return
The overall experience was very good, but too expensive.
Food is amazing here! well worth the night out and the owner is a great guy! You'll enjoy it!
This was our first time at Aliada and it was ok. Just ok. I probably would not go back again but that is just my personal preference.
Dinner with my parents that were visiting from st.louis. Everything from the host, our server, the food, and the ambiance were perfect. The food is always amazing and one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood for seafood
It was just awesome! Qualty food and nice atmosphere.
I had a reservation for 3. We arrived approximately 15 mins early and the restaurant had one table seating 4 that was free (which was by the entry). I was told by the Hostess that we would be seated shortly, but they were waiting for diners in the back to leave, then they would clean the table. No patrons were ready to leave. My guests and I stood in front of the entry (near the empty table) for approximately 30 minutes. At that point I asked why we could not be seated at the empty table. The hostess said "Were holding that table for a group of 9 and we'll need to line it up with other tables, when they become available. A gentleman working behind the counter overheard her response and told one of the Senior Waiters to tell the Hostess to give us the table. After that the service seemed rushed. We were not comfortable.
In the end, the food was just ok and FYI, the party of 9 did not arrive during the 25 mins we spent eating our meals.
We are not planning to return.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC experience with Anastasio as our waiter-- I brought family in from Florida straight from LaGuardia and they were amazed at how hospitable everyone was. We ordered the Mezze for the table and were absolutely stuffed by the time we left, and each dish was unique and delicious. Have been there several times and will continue to come back -- I am moving away from the area and will plan to stop back in each visit.
The service and food were wonderful. It was our friend's birthday and they did not have the dessert she wanted. The owner was resourceful, went out and found the dessert and delivered the dessert with a candle as a birthday surprise. We all so enjoyed our dinner and the personal warmth of the owner and our waitress. Thanks for a lovely evening.
So delicious every time I come in!
One of the best Greek Restaurants in Astoria which is quite something. Food is absolutely great and the waiting staff has great recommendations.
We had a great time and enjoyed the food! We ordered “family style” and got to enjoy a little bit of everything.
Great food, great atmosphere and great service!! We will be going back very soon!!
Excellent service, cozy, delicious food
This is our go to! You feel like family here and the food is always fresh and amazing! Every fish dish is amazing and the meat is always very good as well. In a very Greek neighborhood, Aliada is number 1!
Luke warm and bland food. There was only one other table occupied when we went, but the food was still barely hot and not well seasoned. Some of the food items were congealed into a pudding like substance. Fries were barely warm and not seasoned. You have to order different parts of a falafel "platter" which only includes about 6 falafel balls and an underwhelming side.
Menu was different than that which is posted online (both through yelp and open table), so we ended up with different food and paying way more than was worth. (If the food tasted good, the price could have been justified... but 19.99 for dense falafel balls and mushy boiled potatoes was not worth it!) Even the menu on opentable is incorrect. The wait staff was not well informed on changes to their menu.
Venue is nice, quiet when we went (about 5pm on a Friday).
Phenomenal all around. We did the Chef’s Fish Meze dinner for 2 and it exceeded all expectations. Every single dish was delicious and carefully thought out. Cooked with love! The service was top notch, kind, attentive and offered the perfect suggestions. We will be back!
Excellent and affordable authentic Greek cuisine. My husband (native Greek) and I have been to Aliada numerous times, taking our guests who want to try real Greek cuisine without the long lines and cramped corners at places like the much hyped Taverna Kyklades. At Aliada, you’ll find tables quickly filling with small Greek meze—the octopus, stuffed eggplant, grilled haloumi and fried saganaki cheeses are musts—as people chat with friends over wine (get the tsipouro, a piney Greek staple). Atmosphere is clean and restrained, no pictures of blue-and-white-housed Santorini here. It’s warm and cozy in the winter, but definitely worth going for Greek Easter—they grill the delectable lamb right on the sidewalk—and during cooler summer nights, you can sit outside amongst their rosemary and mint as you watch the bustle of passersby on Broadway.
We got the sampler option for two and everything was incredible! Totally worth the price. We took home leftovers! The service was also very attentive and nice!
Love this place, food always great! Great service !
Restaurant was casual and tightly spaced. The server was nice. Truthfully the decor and ambience was not nice. Walls were dirty. Bathroom
was not tended to. Tea box selection was mixed and not good quality tea selection. Fish was prepared very well, but $36 for bronzino and dorado each? The greek salad was small, few pieces of chopped romaine, sprinkled with feta crumbles and grape leaf for $10. Sides for entrees were just okay. Bread offered was supermarket quality.
Our favorite place in Astoria! They treat you like family here and the food is fresh and amazing!
Excelent Greek restaurant! Friendly staff. The grilled octopus and the grilled tsipura are amazing!
Very good. Enjoyed all of our order except the Sausage appetizer. No imagination there. Will go back.
I made the reservation with a note that it was my husband’s birthday and it was never acknowledged. Once we arrived, we felt as though we were being rushed to order. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were never told any specials and the only reason that I knew that they had some is that I overheard another server telling another table after we had already ordered. The food was okay. I had to ask for my side dish to be reheated. My main could have used it too. My husband’s shrimp was very tough. I don’t think that the food justified the pricing. With all of the Greek options in Astoria, I do not think that we would try it again. Service was mediocre, food was okay and the atmosphere was lacking.
Going here is like going home. The wait staff is friendly the food not pretentious but delicious and the atmosphere warm.
We had a wonderfull dinner at restaurant . $ of us shared the spicy feta dip, the grilled octopus, and the zuchini chrochets. all were great. I had the grilled whole branzino for dinner it was cooked perfectly. This restaurant is a must try
Very quiet at our late lunch. Tasty salad and salmon. Soggy (humid day) Spinach Pastry.
Recently spruced up into a beautiful whitewashed farmhouse/ Terrific neighborhood spot to sit outside al fresco and watch the neighbors stroll by. Friendly staff. Outside rustic tables are roomy and have small herb garden boxes lining the sidewalk. Fresh food. Very relaxing. Reasonably priced. Just a block from the Broadway N train stop. Meals usually end with a complimentary bite of Greek pastry. I wish they made a nice cup of coffee or espresso based drinks.
A great meal before a concert at CitiField. The wine was great and the food was fabulous. Great suggestions by the wait staff.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Very polite and attentive wait staff.
Server was a bit pushy but really great food
