A gem in Astoria
Upon arriving we were told our table for 5 was almost ready and were ushered to the bar. It's a small place and looking around I could see now table preparing to leave. We were told they were paying the bill and later that they were cleaning the table. We finally left 30 minutes after our time as it was obvious they could not honor the reservation. A wasted trip to Astoria.
Loved this restaurant and the food was delicious. The only bummer was that they were behind 45 minutes even with a reservation. But honestly I can understand why!
AMAZING Greek Food. Get the seafood and fish platter
Food was very good. Table was not ready for the reservation time, but we were not in a hurry. Good value, attentive staff. Noisy level in dining room high.
Even with our reservation, we waited almost 15 minutes but they worked hard to get our table ready. The food is always good, we enjoy coming here. Really good service and warm, pleasant vibe from waiters and owner. The grilled shrimp is excellent. The prices are very fair. Definitely recommend a visit.
We made a last minute reservation change to go to Aliada on our way up to NY. It was the best decision! The food was excellent and they accommodated our large group perfectly. We will definitely return to this establishment on our next trip up to NY!
First visit back to Astoria in a while and wanted to try a new place. Read great reviews on OT and they were right. Authentic Greek with excellent and very friendly service. The baby lamb chops were fabulous and so was the Musaka. Great side, desserts and nice strong coffee. Don't forget the Ouzo.
Delicious food,friendly staff
Great find! The staff were all great from the hostess, to the wai staff to the manager: all were friendly, warm and helpful! Plenty of delicious food with a very reasonable price tag. Delicious dips and seafood tasting menu for 2!
The best Greek food I've had in New York City. Every plate was delicious. The staff was kind and attentive. The restaurant has an airy, easygoing atmosphere that's great for adults and children alike. We can't wait for our next visit!
The grilled seafood and fish are excelllent. They serve a complimentary hummus and pita at the start and a small complimentary dessert which is unusual and is a lovely touch. Service was very good as was the Greek wine we ordered.
Loved the food and the service
Amazing Service - staff is friendly, attentive and conversational. They provided great recommendations on complimentary dishes. The fish was both inexpensive and of great quality. The in-house dessert portions were unique.
Aliada is a great authentic restaurant for cypriot cuisine. We enjoy the food very much and it reminds us of home.
Our favorite Greek restaurant in Astoria. Always such great attention from staff and amazing food.
SO YUMMY!! Sat outside on a beautiful evening. Love Love love this neighborhood treasure.
The staff was incredibly friendly. We had a table for 9 and they seated people as they arrived instead of waiting for the entire party to be present. The fish was fresh and delicious, especially the grilled octopus. Everyone was happy with their dishes.
The food was good and the ambiance was very nice. The service was poor. We inquired about dessert and were told that they didn't make dessert that day.
Simply amazing food. Recommended, and will be returning regularly.
We were surprised it. Not what we had expected. Thought it would be nicer dining instead of just a place to eat from the stars it was given by trip advisor and open table. The owner waited on us and could not have been nicer. We ordered several appetizers including saginaki which was fried and not flaming. The bronzini was better than the porgy The wine was very weak. But they went out of their way to please, They served us baklava on the house. They were more than accommodating just not that authentic food wise
Amazing restaurant, first time i tried it and i must say i was really impressed. Food is really authentic and not (american greek). Ari the manager was super great, very friendly and accommodating. Our server was really sweet and attentive. I would def be back as i am looking forward to try the next dishes from their vast menu.
Authentic Greek restaurant in Astoria. Standard fare on menu with very good execution. Staff very friendly and eager to please Owner greets each diner and definitely takes pride in his establishment Would definitely return !
Authentic Cypriot gem of a restaurant
Great food and service
Food n service was very good..dessert n coffee needs work.
Best hummus ever. Medzes plate was a great way to go. Lovely and attentive service
Just lovely and delicious!! We made a last minute Mother's Day reservation and had a wonderful time. Loved the branzino and loukanika. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming.
Food was so delicious, owner is super friendly, will definitely be returning!
if you love to explore good food - that's the place
Everytime I dine here I've gotten great service, this only enhances their amazing food! In the summer sitting outside is a great bonus to those two pluses! Eat here you won't regret it.
Used to be so good!! Was our weekly go to! Now terrible - higher prices for less quality, quantity and taste. Will be finding a new Astoria go to.
It was a 90+ day outside, and humid. We wanted to be outside but there wasn't a table available, even though we had reservations. So we ate inside, the place doesn't have air conditioning, so we ate most of our meal sweating, as was the waiter, and I'm sure the cook(ugh). Should have left, but due to circumstance we could not. Not sure if I'll return, due to the total disregard of the customers comfort.
The tsipouro shots, wine and grilled branzino with the usual standout mezedes of grilled halloumi, spicy feta kopanisti and octopus made for a perfect summer dinner. We had the feeling that we were on our own private island, seated outdoors and with a comfortable distance from our neighboring diners. The staff were absolutely attentive while also letting us enjoy our meal in peace. Three hours later, every last part of the branzino was sucked clean and in our bellies along with the frappe our server treated us to. Excellent service, authentic cuisine and truly, a destination in Astoria.
Consistently good. We always order the same food since we know how delicious it is going to be. Nice menu choices, people are warm and welcoming. The grilled shrimp is superb; prepare to get your fingers messy. On a down note, it was a bit too warm in the restaurant, even tho the windows were open it was such a humid night we needed more A.C. This particular night the service was off as well. Perhaps they were short staffed.
Best Lemon potatoes in city!!
Aliada is quite possibly the best and most authentic Greek restaurant in NYC and has become a happy staple for my family every time we visit. Having lived in Greece for two years on work, we have made countess disappointing trips to Greek restaurants in search of that authentic village style food...that is until we stumbled into Aliada. The food, service, atmosphere, and staff take us back to a happier time where friends and family gather for a dining "experience". Γεωργιος (Georgios, or George) takes great care of us and is happy to offer suggestions from the menu one might not think to try. Sit back, relax, order enough to share, and finish the evening with a nice glass of Ouzo on the rocks.
Though unassuming on the outside, this small restaurant packs a great punch. The food was great! Nice sized portions, and filled with flavor. I will be back.
Intimate but roomy space offering a wide range of delicious small plates, with reasonably priced wines by the glass, housemade sangria (white and red), and specialty cocktails.
My family has been coming here for years! The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff is amazing. Highly recommended!!!!
