We dined at Alfredo's this past Thursday and were greeted by Yanni the manager, Debbie the waitress, and Lisa the bartender who treated us, not only as diners, but like family...as they consistantly do with everyone. We dined on pork chops, chicken parm, and haddock, which is always cooked to perfection.
This place is a local gem indeed. Why drive into Boston when you can get the same great meal and service right in Quincy at half the price!
We've been dining at Alfredo's for over 30 years which, I think, speaks for itself. My husband loves the veal parm, and I love the prime rib. You can always count on a great meal at Alfredo's, and we will continue to dine here for many years to come.
Went there for a business lunch and found their service too notch and good very good. Try their pasta Bolognese. Their bread comes with a garlic oil dip which was wonderful. Plenty of parking at back of restaurant.
Price Fix Menu on Wednesday & Thursday is a great deal and the food is great!
While staying at Marriott in Quincy, we checked open table and reserved at Alfredo on Franklin Street. When I clicked the restaurant information to check the menu, I was excited to see a " 1/2 price meal Monday and Tuesday."
My bill showed FULL PRICE! When I questioned the bill and showed the manager on duty a print out of menu and prices,I was told, " I am not aware of this. Mario the owner deals with internet. "
I paid the FULL PRICE, returned to my hotel, checked opentable websiteAGAIN and yes, the 1/2 price special appeared in upper righthand corner.
Food quality was lacking- no taste to Chicken Quincy dish.... table was directly under ceiling cooling system- even our coats could not make the seating comfortable; management could not do anything to change the temperature "its automatic and we can not adjust it"... made for a very cold meal with out of state friends. Will not be in too much of a rush to return to this place. However, the house wines here are very good and reasonably priced, worth mentioning.
We were a party of seven on a Thursday night and everyone enjoyed their meal and the value. On Wednesday and Thursday night they have a special deal where you get appetizer, entree and dessert for $17.00. It is a full size appetizer, entree and dessert and everyone loved the food. We enjoyed everything that was served. Our waitress was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure all of our requests were made. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
In Boston I would have paid around twice the price for the same menu items. Nothing was over $19 on the Entree list, and the service was good, place was quiet enough. Bar out front had a loud crowd, but the dining area was quiet. I will definitely go again. Also on Monday and Tuesday they give a $10 gift card for dining!
Been to Alfredo 3x last year, so far so good. Food was great and consistence for a local small restaurant. Servers were friendly and service was quick. Seats were a bit uncomfortable and tight. No frill deco. Their pasta is the best in town, and it is better than any fancy restaurants in Boston! Will be dinning in Alfredo again Thurs., 2/20 for my daughter's b-day celebration, and shall provide another review after that.
As usual we enjoyed out dinner at Alfredo's.
As a frequent customer to Alfredo's I must ask ... was the chef different? Our chicken cacciatore had a totally different thick sauce which was very disappointing. One of the reasons we go frequently to this restaurant is because of this dish ...and 2 of the 4 ofus ordered it.
Salmon was good but shrimp was dripping in sauce which I asked to have put on the side.
Will go back but hope the " old recipe : comes back too .
I havent been there in yrs..Food was gd..I had the muscles they were very gd..wish it was stated that they were cooking in butter.did not say that on the menu but still gd A few things did bother me when we were there it was very noiseyfelt like I was yelling all night &we felt like we were rushed..My Grandfather had like 3 bites left of his meal &the he put his fork down to take a sip of his drink &the bus boy came over &was going to take it way from him but he was not done eattin yet My grandfather was shocked that they tried to take his plate away that fast when we were all still eating once we got the check they bussed the table right then and there I felt like the buss boy was ontop of mewhen I was getting the "doggie" bags tied up.
We thoroughly enjoy Aldredo's and dine here often, and we recommend it to family and friends. The food and service are consistently good. Prices are reasonable. We eat out once or twice a week, and when we want a meal we know won't disappoint, we go to Alfredo's -- it's a choice everyone can agree on!
Always good food and friendly and fabulous waitstaff.
Busy and friendly restaurant. Food was good. Not "Italian" but italo-american dishes.
I have been dinning at Alfredo for many times and I love their food. I invited my friend and her husband to try the food and they also like the food. The only thing is I wanted to order a salad for appertizer but she said will be a long wait as the chef who is making that was so busy. We ordered desert at the end and they were so good.
We like Alfredo's and have been here many times. The food is fresh and well prepared...pasta is always perfectly al dente. Deninitely a go to staple in the South Shore.
We enjoyed our dinner very much.
Chicken picata is awesome. Very tender wonderfully flavorful. wait staff very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable
While it was great to avid the parking debacle in Boston, Alfredo's was fair at best. The ambiance was dated and on a Saturday night there was karaoke going on. The servers were attentive, though certainly not extraordinary. We were with a group of six. The pastas were certainly not homemade and the flavors were extremely simple. Some people really enjoy simple american italian, but this certainly was not the type of dining experience we seek.
Coming back for a wedding, several family members decided they wanted to go to Boston's North End, but friday night .. traffic and all traveling from out of town, decided to stay local and Alfredo's was on the Marriotts list of restaurants. After reading the reviews, made the reservation for 6, but found out a 7th was coming. They were more than accommodating. Extremely friendly wait staff and felt very relaxed. Now I know why this was called a neighborhood gem. Veal Marsala was terrific, but the chicken of Quincy was the one to get. Fish chowder was awesome also. Music was loud but all else super. Will come back in the future when back in the area
Food is always delicious and portions generous. We had broiled shrimp with summer squash and veal parm. Both very yummy! Cooked nicely and large portions. We also each had a side salad. Only negative, to make one of your sides a salad is now $2 a person. When I started eating here it was free and then $1. Not sure if the salad is worth $2 extra. Otherwise great night!
Alfredo's will never be confused with upscale, five-star restaurant but that's not its value: it is a good, down-to-earth local Italian eatery that delivers on good food, lots of it and, for us, great table service. I was nervous initially as my wife and I arrived early for our reservation and stood by the Host stand for 3-5 minutes with staff passing us by unnoticed until the proper host arrived. A table was not ready for us so we grabbed drinks at the bar and were promptly seated near our true reservation time. Bar service was great and the table service even better. All in all, a place I would go back to again very soon!
Everything was fine, but it wasn't special.
Alfredo's is a great Italian place if your in Quincy! I've never been let down with my order. Tonight we kept it simple with fettuccine Alfredo and chicken and broccoli with pene. Both came with a huge amount of pasta. Easly enough for two meals. We both got minestrone soup to start which was very flavorful. Great prices. Really enjoy dining here everytime.
Food was outstanding. The service was good although felt a bit rushed despite leaving a hefty tip so we could sit for a bit - there was no one waiting for tables at that point. Crust on cheesecake was absolutely delicious as were our main meals.
Will definately go back for more - that says it all!!!
The food was excellent. We were seated immediately even though we arrived late for our reservation and the wait staff was friendly and efficient.
Surprisingly good- all four of us enjoyed our meal and drinks. The prices are very reasonable- about $50 per couple, with a glass of wine each. Will be back.
Thought the portion size was good but the taste of the chicken Alfredo was a little bland but for the first being there it was good and the setting was pretty intimate but I would go there again
The portions were huge in this restaurant. Waitstaff were friendly. Alfredo sauce was disappointing. Looked like ready made and was sitting there a little too long that it had separated.
This is your typical mediocre old-style Italian restaurant, with the focus on quantity rather than quality. Good place to bring the in-laws from out of town. I wish the maitre d' didn't have such disagreeable manners.
This was our first time at Alfredo's, a celebration of two birthdays. It was unusually busy, for a Wednesday night, so the host pinch hit for the waitress. Smart! Once the waitress was free, she was very attentive and fulfilled every request. The bread and an appetizer was a bit slow to come but we knew why because our waitress updated us on what was happening. The food was very good and we enjoyed the dining experience.
Second Time just as good as the first time there, I be back.
One of my favorites. Unfortunately, I only order their delicious king cut prime rib, but they had run out one hour prior to our arrival--very disappointing.
We joined good friends for an evening of dining and talking and this fit the bill well. The food was delicious, especially the bread, with good-sized portions and our server did a good job of being available and charming.
Had a party of 8 restaurant very accomodating food was delicious portions
Generous in fact split some meals nice wine selection definately would eat there
Again when in town
The food was good and the service very good. They have been a staple in Quincy for many years.
Alfredo's is a long kept secret of Quincy's neighborhoods. The decor reminded me of my grandmother's dining room - comfortable, crowded and noisy. The waitstaff had high energy and their enthusiasm was contagious. Our family chose this restaurant to get together to celebrate my husband's birthday together. The food choices were excellent. The only problem was that our young waiter forgot to get us coffee and/or dessert. I had requested a small cheesecake and they did bring a piece for my husband.
GREAT Italian food. Larage portions. The chicken parm wonderful. Karaoke in the bar on Saturday nights is always fun, an older crowd but very nice and talented people. Linda the bartender makes a great drink. Always a good take. Would recommend. Not fancy but nice and really good food! We go to the North End a lot - Alfredo's is just as good.
