We drove all the way from CT just to try out this restaurant. The restaurant is pretty inside. The food was just ordinary, lacking taste, and to us, not that authentic Italian. The wait service was efficient but unwelcoming. Most likely because we used Groupon coupon, and we were not heavy drinkers. This place is definitely overpriced for what we got and there will not be a repeat for us. Groupon should add a notation that a 20% gratuity is automatically added whether you got good service or not.
The restaurant was overpriced and the quality of food was average or below. The wine selection was ridiculously overpriced. Save your money ... I used a Groupon which took care of one entree up to $34 and one appetizer up to $21. We ordered one bottle of wine and some of the party of 4 ordered a slightly higher entree and paid the difference. The bill was still $170 and that's after the Groupon certificate was applied. There are better values to be had in New York. You don't mind paying if the food is great!
The cocktails were sparkling, the wine divine, the chacuterie platter could have been dinner, but the best amazing taste of the evening was the Fettucine Alfredo. The best I have ever tasted. It was very different in that there was not a cream sauce, but the pasta was bound together with an amazing blend of cheeses. The best ever. Worth going for the Alfredo. The deserts were amazing as well. We ate too much but were so happy.
We were using a Groupon and received excellent service even with it. Our server even reminded us we had 2 appetisers included after we had only ordered one. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful; food arrived promptly and was perfect. My son enjoyed the lasagna so much I inquired about one of the ingredients and the chef answered without hesitation. Very nice place and would happily recommend.
Not worth the money - service was terrible. We had to wait fifteen minutes before finally waving someone down in which they then came over to us and said "yes?" Food was just mediocre but I would not go back. Only good part was that when our food was delayed an hour and a half they did give us a glass of wine on the house.
My experience here was by far the worst one I have ever had at any restaurant in my entire life. I had made reservations over a week in advance; when I arrived they still did not have my table ready to have us seated. Once the table was prepared for us to be seated, they attempted to seat us next to another table so close that our chairs were bumping into each other. After I spoke to 2 different waiters, they did move us to a better area with adequate space. We arrived at 7:00pm and did not get seated until nearly 7:20pm and then it took another 15 minutes just to get our water glasses filled. We had a show to catch at 10pm at Radio City Music Hall; and we did not recieve our food until 9:15pm. Over two hours from the time we arrived! I had to ask for the bill as soon as they brought the food in order to pay before having to leave for the show. To make it all the worse, when we finally did recieve our meals, the food was COLD. Both my appetizer and my entree came out COLD. My risotto was horribly undercooked and my veal was cold. I didn't even eat my food; however, I had no time to complain more than I already had. I have had better service and food at a diner. They should be ashamed to serve the food they did for upwards of $45 dollars a plate!! In all honesty, this was a huge disappointment. It was supposed to be a nice holiday dinner with my combined family...and it was completely ruined.
The food and wine were both delicious, the only down side was our waiter. He took his time talking to coworkers but rushed us through ordering and hardly checked back in. Asked for a cocktail menu and he just said "um....no." The busers were pretty attentive though and the food was great!
Experience was not good. Waiter left us alone for about 45 minutes in between courses. Had to go to the owner to find out where our meals were. They came 15 minutes later so obviously the food had not been prepared. Other waiters then tried to pick up the slack. The owner was accommodating and gracious and sent over some great desserts for us to try and make up for the problem. That was very nice of her but it really did make up for the waiter leaving us alone for an hour. She explained they was a little problem with staff around the holidays but everyone else around us seemed to be getting their food in a timely manner.
The food was very pedestrian. Nothing very favorable or unique. The service was varied between ok to poor (they never refilled water glasses and kept messing up drink orders) But most disappointing was the price. Everything was really overpriced even by New York standards. I will definitely not go back.
The food and service was outstanding! Our server, Fabio, went over and above what was expected to please our granddaughters. We had a wonder Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey and chestnut stuffing was amazing! Thanks for making this a memorable evening for the family!
The service was very poor. The restaurant was more than half empty and main course didn't arrive for 1.5 hrs. The appetizer was right out of the freezer. We asked for espresso after our wine but came before. Also got charged 18% service fee by default. We had a $100 wine and hence we paid $18 on our wine. The server def didn't earn the tip. The food was very low quality. Even Alfredo sauce was all wrong with some strange cheese and very thick. Gnocchi was very low quality. Overall a big disappointment
Service was horrendous, it took our waiter over 30 minutes to take our order from us, to the point that we were about to walk out, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Food was decent, but certainly not worth the prices being charged. Portion size was perfect, enough to fill you up, but not so much that you leave stuffed.
Nicely appointed restaurant. We were seated quickly by a very charming hostess upon our arrival. Once we reviewed the menus we ordered the fried calamari and caprese appetizers. These were fresh, delicious and properly prepared. Our next course was somewhat of a disappointment. We both ordered the black squid ink pasta with seafood and shellfish. These arrived at our table and were just not up to par. The seafood and shellfish was not only a meager portion but was overcooked and very dry. We asked the waitstaff if they could bring us some additional seafood broth and marinara sauce to help the entree but it was not going to improve no matter the method. We let our waiter know we were not happy with the meal and he quickly brought over the manager. The manager was very polite and willing to listen to our comments. He offered to replace with something else but we declined. He was genuinely concerned and introduced himself. He gave his name as Fabio and I must say he was fabulous and offered after dinner drinks and a dessert and cappuccino to make up with the faux-pas. We were pleased with his attitude and how we were treated. It may have been an off night or someone in the kitchen was not paying close attention. Whatever the reason Fabio was great! He made our experience special and was very apologetic and made good for our displeasure. Having a manager with such a caring attitude like this at this restaurant is not only a necessary but is a vital asset and because of Fabio we will return.
After our dinner which was fine with good service, we (party of 5) left the restaurant only to find a sign on the outside menu offering a 20% discount. We had not received the discount. We returned to the dining room and asked why we had not received the discount. We were told we entered the restaurant after the sign was posted. We voiced our annoyance and left. One of our group returned and continued to voice our opinion. The complaint ended with the restaurant giving us a $70 gift certificate.
This was a very disappointing ending to a birthday celebration.
Went to Alfredo 100 for the first time because of a Groupon offer. The pre-groupon price of two entrees and two starters was about $100. The roast chicken was excellent and the pasta bolognese was even better. Portions were generous. The wines are pricey, but the waiter steered us to a good choice that was reasonable. Service was attentive, but not overbearing.
Was a great fan of Bice, which lived in the same space for almost 30 years, but I think Alfredo is better based on this experience. The room is the same, but with softer lighting and some new decorations it feels more luxurious.
We ordered from the special $29-lunch menu, comprising an appetiser, entree and dessert. This was good value, although looking at the a la carte menu the prices for that seem very high.
The food was fine, not outstanding overall (although I enjoyed the sweet sausage ragu I ate), and there was a mistake on my dessert (the fruit was not omitted as I had asked) which was a very easy request to fulfil. Service was slow, and it took ages for us to get a server's attention to refill our water glasses, in spite of there being lots of them around.
Overall I might possibly go back for the lunch menu again, but honestly I probably won't.
