Alfio's buon cibo Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing and the serving sizes generous. The restaurant started filling up after we were seated. Our waiter had tables at the other end of the building so could not be very attentive. He did not check in at all during our extremely long wait for our dinner. The table near us was extremely loud and combined with the air vent that was making a racket, we couldn’t hear each other. No matter, we snuggled down in our coats (it was quite cold in the restaurant) and waited. The food was delicious and the menu really has something for everyone.
First time going here and I was really impressed. It was New Year’s Eve so it was super busy but the service was fantastic and food was amazing!!! Looking forward to going again. I’m told they half half priced ravioli on Tuesday and special wine pairing nights. Definitely a new favorite!
Went to Alfio's for a holiday family dinner. They were ready for us and we were seated immediately. The fried zucchini appetizer was good, though it could have had less coating/crusting. The butternut squash soup was excellent. Alfio's is known for their ravioli dishes. The short rib ravioli was outstanding, with a rich sauce. We liked to ability to pick two ravioli dishes for an entree. The mushroom ravioli was tasty but had a red sauce, which didn't complement the mushroom flavor. The five cheese ravioli was good but needed more flavor. Alfio's has an extensive (overpriced) wine list and Brandi, our server, made an excellent recommendation. Overall, the food, wine and service were very good. However, it's pricey, and I rated them lower on value.
We just happened to go on half-price ravioli night - and since three of the four of us had ravioli, it was very economical. The server was very outgoing and friendly - overall a great experience.
The ravioli was AWESOME, and we loved the Italian/Argentine fusion - very unique.
Food choices, preparation and service were all excellent. Our waiter was informative, friendly, efficient and accommodated several special requests. However, not the place for quiet conversation. There are tables along both walls and in the middle of the room. The chatter at the latter tables and from the bar seemed to create a rippling megaphone effect that obliterated conversation--or at least it did for us on a busy Saturday night--so if indeed interested in easy conversation opt for a table by the walls away from the bar if possible.
Friendly atmosphere. Great staff; server was attentive and made appropriate suggestions for our first visit to the restaurant.
Alfio’s homemade pasta is wonderful. So was butternut squash soup. Our friends split the empanada appetizer with us and everyone loved them.
Great wine selection as well. Will definitely dine there again.
Great overall dining! A couple of missteps in the food (truffle oil AND blue cheese on a salad was overpowering, not enough filling in ravioli made with very thick pasta sheets), but overall great. Noise level was very loud...had to also stop shout to be heard over the noise, and there were only two of us sitting face to face. Will definitely come back for more when we save up enough money.
Overall a fine place for dinner, nothing super special. The mussels were quite nice, the shrimp and scallops fra diavlo fresh and well presented. The chicken marsala was more like chicken in mushroom sauce, a white sauce so I think no marsala?
The chocolate trio dessert was very nice, and the wine list is good and reasonable.
I truly never take the time to review restaurants, however, our group had such a great evening and received such outstanding service that we felt the need to do so. Jen is simply magnificent! She took the time to recommend particular dishes to us and made it such a special evening. We'll definitely be back and will share the experience with our friends.
This was my second time at Alfio’s. Truly did not disappoint. The ravioli duo is my go-to! Fried zucchini appetizer comes with a pesto & goat cheese dipping sauce...makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Service is always fantastic. The servers are very knowledgeable about the wine list and food menu. Their cocktails change based on season but are delicious. Can’t wait for my next visit!
The restaurant was so loud I had to shout to hear anyone but the person sitting directly beside me. Everything else was good, but that made it uncomfortable. On previous visits, I’ve dined on weeknights or at one of the handful of tables outside, so noise was not an issue. It must be a busy Saturday night problem, but it’s certainly busy for a reason!
Incredibly loud. My skirt steak was over cooked and very salty. Wait person was pushing the specials and otherwise, very inattentive. After some waving I was able to snag her for my wine order ... which I used to cleanse the salt from my palate. I ate 10% of my meal and when I explained why Enice offer to box it for me. Did I mention loud?
This was a very good resteraunt for great food, the steak and empenadas were delicious and perfectly balanced. The salads were also very novel, creative and well made. Finally the dessert was excellent, get crepes or limoncello tiramisu!
The service was also impeccable and very knowledgeable, but the noise level was very high near the end of our night. We will certainly be back for more of Alfio’s deliciously original cuisine.
Food was very good and the service was fine other than the fact that all of our salads were dropped and had to be prepared a second time. The management graciously gave us a few desserts for our trouble. They were excellent.
Staff is good and personable.
The only real issue is this establishment is very noisy. Hard to carry on a normal conversation. We have been here two times now and both times the noise level was high. Love the food, but noise level is a bit much.
It had been more than a year since our last visit to Alfio's and the food was as delicious as we remembered. The short rib ravioli is a favorite of ours as well as the goat cheese and beet salad. The only issue is the noise level in the restaurant. On a busy evening it can be difficult to hear the conversation at your table.
