Made from scratch, family recipe Italian cuisine, in Highwood since 1932, and at its current location since 1982. Serving a selection of Fresh Seafood delivered daily including Salmon, Whitefish, Mussels, Calamari..... All the classics are here, homemade pastas, hand carved and pounded out Chicken and Veal Parmigiana, Limone, Piccata, Calabrese, and of course Lasagnas, Meatballs, Chicken Vesuvio, and many more, and of course homemade desserts. Also, we offer some of the best thin, crisp crust pizza, which was the first pizza served on the North Shore at Scornavacco's since 1944.

We have been going to AWG for years and we love the ambience and attentive staff. It pains me greatly to be honest, the food the last two visits was good, not great, just good.

We love this restaurant but will think twice before ever going again. As a table of 2 on a Sunday night we were in the back with large parties. A party of 10-12 was allowed to take a table for 6-8. We moved over to help but felt totally crowded out. It was a bad experience with no acknowledgement from the staff. Not fun or enjoyable.

Great old school restaurant that never fails. I love the homey feeling and appreciate the classic food. I’m amazed that they still offer salad or soup with the entree. That’s so rare these days! My clams and pasta was loaded with clams. And my boyfriend’s fish was amazing! Great place to go.
