We had a great time Good was great wait staff was very attentive considering it was a brunch buffet.
The food is absolutely fantastic here! Their sliders were melt in your mouth good. I took home my left over chicken sandwich and it was still delicious 2 days later. The entire place could use an upgrade (decor felt a little 90s), but it was overall a good experience. Wait staff was friendly and very helpful.
Food was great. Nice love music from upstairs. Service was a little on the slow side but it didn’t make the evening unenjoyable, just waited a bit long for our wine and our entrees.
Our visit was very disappointing. The room looked quite dingy - no tablecloths. Lauren our server was extremely good or the evening would have been worst. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary.
Lovely Father's Day buffet brunch! Excellent service and atmosphere.
The food was awful. We had a breakfast buffet and the only items that were ok was the bacon and fruit.
8th grade graduation
Alexandra's went to great lengths to ensure a family member's very low-salt diet was met. The manager responded same day to an Alexandra's website inquiry and discussed several options. On the day of the family lunch, rain was predicted. I contacted the restaurant to move the reservation from outdoor to indoor and they confirmed that they had made the change before I called. The server was very attentive to all, especially making sure that the diet need was met. It was a lovely lunch. Our out of town guests felt special. We had a very pretty view too.
Gail and Shannon are amazing!
Food selection was delicious and there was an abundant variety!
Mother’s Day Luncheon, we were provided with excellent service along with a delicious menu.
Wonderful place for my parents anniversary. Service is excellent and food is very good. Thanks!!!
Our food took almost an hour. Service was poor. Food was mediocre. Very disappointing.
Sunday brunch with friends. Food was quite good overall. The old bay steamed shrimp was excellent, as was the smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, chopped onion, chopped hardboiled egg, BUT - there was no toast or mini bagels to put the smoked salmon etc. on...??? There was a nearly empty metal "bucket/wine cooler" of broken fragile bagel chips which were not really appetizing, so I did not enjoy the smoked salmon as much as I would have...I would have given this review the extra star if they at least put out mini cocktail breads or toast points or mini bagels.
The French toast was decent and the bacon excellent, however the chicken sausage very dry and tough.
But the prime rib roast was amazing, perfectly cooked and incredibly tender with horseradish cream sauce and au jus. There is also an omelet station with lots of options/choices, and champagne, mimosas or bloody marys. The coffee was very good too!
Over all very good! Plus our server was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful!
We were excited to revisit Alexandra’s after a number of years had passed since our first visit. We were impressed that it is well frequented. The service was attentive but it seemed a little “matter of fact” that is to say “distant”. The menu was inviting but the quality of the food was disappointing considering the cost. The quality of two items were related to preparation (too much salt and or tasteless flavor) and the third item was simply noticeably stale. It may be a long while before we try Alexandra’s again. We would like to discover the true value that we seemed to have missed on this occasion.
Meh, we stopped here on a recommendation. Slow service, waiter brought the wrong soup, mediocre food. No reason to go back.
Food was mediocre and service poor. Would not recommend ordering steak... over cooked and dry. Vegetables were tasty and properly prepared. The crab cake was excellent.
Unfortunately, the service was very poor for dinner and lunch. I’m not sure why it should take over an hour to deliver a simple meal.
The redeeming factor was the delicious crab cake! I’m glad we tried again for lunch.
Attended Turf Valley for High School reunion and the entire weekend including food was superb.
Great value and service. Food very good. It is a bit noisy but would definitely go back.
This was my husband and my first and LAST visit to Alexandra's
at Turf Valley Resort. Based on the great reviews, we thought we'd try a local restaurant instead of driving into DC as we usually do for great food. We should have taken the drive to DC!! First impressions are EVERYTHING! We stood and waited to be greeted and seated by the hostess who was not personable and engaging at all. Once seated, we waited AGAIN to be greeted by our server and when she finally greeted us, her first words were "do you want something to drink"? REALLY? This is how you greet someone who has NEVER been to your restaurant? I had to ASK her NAME!! (Jennifer). My husband and I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the country. The service was terrible (very dismissive as if we were bothering her to ask for anything) and the food/buffet was subpar at best and not extensive at all with hard breakfast potatoes, no scrambled egg dishes other than omelettes, no pancakes or waffle station, no carved turkey station, bread, bagels rolls, etc,. I also had to ask for someone to bring
more sliced fruit out to display. Lastly once we ate and left, I had to call back to the restaurant and ask Rebecca to document my reservation so that I received my Opentable points. Her response, "I didn' finish processing your reservation in the system". This is NOT a top rate buffet. We expected more from Turf Valley as a resort and conference center. Disappointing and not worth $30 per person. Will NEVER teturn!!
Dinner was fabulous! Our waiter Jeffrey was outstanding and very attentive. We had dinner with friends before going to the BSO concert we will absolutely do this again!
Slow night but food took forever...the burgers were overcooked and the kid's pizza undercooked...drinks went unfilled for long periods of time. We have been here before for the brunch buffet, which was great. This was our first time for a meal off the menu...we will stick with the brunches only from now on.
We've enjoyed dinner at Alexandra's many times and never been disappointed, so we decided to try the Sunday Brunch buffet. The wide variety of food offered was very good and constantly refreshed. It was a crowded day, but our server was attentive and kept our drinks coming. My only complaint was that the hostess could not find my Open Table reservation so we had to wait while they found us a table.
Every time we visit Alexandra’s we are greeted by unfriendly hostesses with attitudes that leave us feeling unwelcome and as if we are an annoyance. I don’t recall one pleasant experience with the hostesses. I will say, however, that the table servers and staff behind the food stations during brunch tend to give you a smile and are pleasant. We’re Turf Valley members and at this point, the only reason we visit Alexandra’s is to reach a quarterly spend requirement. Otherwise, we gladly take our business elsewhere where we enjoy a great first impression and great food and service.
The dining experience overall very good... Food was prepared as indicated and delish...Our server, Mike, had a wonderful personality and complimented by his knowledge of wine and menu...Mike made the evening...Thank you.
Alexandra’s is a great choice for a special occasion. The menu has decent selections that will satisfy most palates. Their happy hours menu has good value and decent selections also. Would definitely return to this venue.
Need to improve special occasions for guest who wish to celebrate
Hands down the best brunch!
Went for Sunday Bruch and was not disappointment. Everything was amazing!!! The service was great from the hostess to the waitress. The mimosas were definitely some of the best I have ever tasted which is uncommon for bottomless. The food was very good and they had such a vast selection. We had a nice view of the lake. Highly recommend if you are looking for an all you can eat brunch.
Prompt and courteous service. Creative and delicious food
Firstly the host had an awful attitude and didn’t make eye contact. This irritates me immediately.
I understand that the restaurant is part of a golf club but it looks like it needs a major makeover as it’s stuck in the 90’s. Our waiter just seemed like he did. It want to be there and kept rushing us. The food was very average also.
Enjoyed lunch with a friend. Service was good, and my seafood salad delicious.
Food was not the best. The risotto was not not through my cooked. The redfish was dry. The grits with the shrimp and grits was not thoroughly my cooked. Did not enjoy the meal. The waiter was not attentive or friendly. He was not rude but not great either.
The hostess was great. She was energetic. Positive and engaging.
Food not good at all.
I thought the service was a bit slow, and the waiter's demeanor was mix of genuine interest, and I'd rather not be bothered. The Cesar salad lettuce was more like a regular salad than what I am accustomed to. My main dish, blackened chicken, was very good. My girlfriend's pot pie lacked flavor and was way too soupy. The bread pudding was more like a cake, and could have been sweeter. My girlfriend enjoyed the mint chocolate brownie. As we stood to leave, I told her 'd like to come back and try other things. She seemed less enthusiastic. As far as a romantic restaurant, I'd say very good. Nice ambiance.
We had a lovely time as usual! It was a Mardi Gras themed brunch buffet; my first time at this event. Everything was delicious!!
Randomly went there. Sat at bar tables. Food was good
I had the crabcakes and my husband had rockfish (which we asked to have blackened though not done the way we are used to having it done). The crabcakes were good but a little bland (for being in Maryland). The service was excellent because it wasn't that crowded. Live music in the bar above was nice but a little loud for having relaxing dinner converation. It's a nice, clean place with exceptional staff but food is just so-so.
We have come here for years and it just wasn’t as good this time. The server did her best, but they were clearly understaffed. The shrimp were not as good—over cooked possibly. And they served lox and all the trimmings with no bagels. Just tasteless bagel chips. We asked for bagels but they arrived way too late. The omelets were good. So as the bread pudding. We had finished desert by the time we got the bag ls. We will try for somewhere else next time we want brunch
Food could’ve had more flavor. Service was super slow and kept forgetting items.
Excellent meal and service. Looking forward to dining outside when it warms up.
The Sunday Brunch at Alexandra's was one of the finest I've enjoyed...a wide variety of breakfast and luncheon offerings, unlimited mimosas & Bloody Marys, an excellent selection of desserts and great service with pleasant live music and a beautiful golf course view. It was well worth the price of admission.
