Amazing service and attention to detail. Wonderful, creative entrees. Pleasant atmosphere. A true treat!
My husband and I went here for the 1st time on date night. The service was great. They didn't have much to choose from on the menu that was my taste. Only 2 appetizers and both were shrimp dishes and I do not care for shrimp. I ordered steak and although it tasted great I left still feeling hungry. The atmosphere was nice and quiet but seemed to be only for older adults, 50++. My husband and I are in our thirties and were the youngest customers in there. It seems to be a restaurant for seniors and business. Which is fine... just not for me. It was an OK dining experience but nothing great.
Excellent service and ambience. Unhurried and great choices of entrees.
Celebrating our anniversary...always our first choice. Not for the faint of wallet.
We were super impressed by this amazing place! Definitely a must do for special occasions.
My wife and I went here for an early Valentine’s date. Food and service were outstanding! Will definitely return.
One of the best fine dining experiences I've ever had. I would recommend Alexander's without hesitation, and I certainly intend to return. Great food and superb service all around!
Excellent food, wine and service as always. Tuesday nights are a favorite as it's often quieter and a really nice way to start the week.
Dinner at Alexander's is always a treat! Our most recent visit to Alexander's was during Roanoke Restaurant Week. The items on the "special menu" were delicious - from the Wild Mushroom Bread Pudding (fabulous) to the Deconstructed Beef Wellington to the Chocolate Tart and Winter Shortcake. The service - as always - was perfect - friendly, helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable.
Wonderful , only issue being all members at table were required to either do the restaurant week menu or regular menu.
One of the best meals I have ever had in Roanoke! And an incredible experience to boot. We went here on a whim for Restaurant week, now I cannot wait until we go back!
Wonderful meal! Desserts were amazing. Must have been some confusion on which server had our table but once they figured it out, the service was fine.
Words do insufficient justice to the brilliance that is Alexander’s. Dinner was divine.
Went for restaurant week, loved the meal and experience!
Go to place for consistent service, good food and ambiance.
This restaurant is a real gem. We had not been there for a while and need to go back more often. Great!
We went here to have a nice new year's eve dinner celebration. It was the perfect spot, loved the staff and ambience of the restaurant. I recommend the rack of lamb and mushroom soup is it is on the menu.
This was my first time at Alexandra in over 10 years. We decided to try it for our 32nd anniversary with our two adult children. The service was not great. My son asked for a wine/drink menu and was told they didn’t have one. We were not told about the bottle of wines nor any speciality drinks. So we ordered individual drinks. I ordered my favorite lemon drop martini. I was so disappointed. It didn’t taste like it had any lemon in my martini and had to ask for lemon slices. That helped a little. We didn’t get a menu until 15 minutes after we got our drinks only to find out that they did have a speciality drink on the menu. We also saw the same server opening a bottle of wine at the next table. We were not even offered the option.
Finally a menu ! We didn’t received our basket of bread for another 10 minutes. Our waitress had her hands full with other customers but not us. You would have thought that the place was packed because of the poor service but it was only half filled ifbthat much.
Finally we ordered and I asked about several dishes. I decided to go with a shrimp dish because she told me the shrimp was saute’. It didn’t seemed sauté but steamed. The dish was ok but not memorable. My sons and husband’s meals were tasty. My husband said his pork chops were great and my sons ate all of their steak entre’.
We didn’t order any dessert because the service was so slow and we were ready to go. Not one of our best experience on our 32nd anniversary.
