Our third Easter brunch and one of the best. Jenna is an awesome server!
Sunday brunch starts 10am. Great selections. Small but perfect. $21 for adults. Mimosas and Bloody Marys for $5. upgrade to a Prosecco split for $8 - which was perfect for one. Beautiful restaurant. Great for special occasions or just a nice brunch with my husband.
I've been here many times and it's never disappointing. We had the escargot, lamb chops and dessert and it was fabulous. Our waitress Amanda was outstanding! Will continue to go back.
Went for first date dinner at Alexander's. It was fantastic, starting with the service, great wine list and lastly unbelievable seafood. We had the perch and white fish dinners that were perfect. My recommendations for Alexander's is a 10+.
Found this restaurant on the internet. It was highly rated. Made you feel like you could stay all night. Server was very attentive and my glass never ran out of water. Reasonable selection of wine and beer. I enjoyed the clam chowder. My soup was hot and it contained a very good amount of sea food.I also enjoyed a Kale and goat cheese salad which was tasty. I wasn't that hungry so I enjoyed the smaller salad and not the full size. The ingredients were fresh and the dressing was nice and tangy. I'd recommend for business dinner or a night out with your sweetheart.
Finally a restaurant that understands gluten free options. Many choices and everything was delicious.
One of our favorite places to visit! We love the tuna steak, but unfortunately it's only offered once in a while on special. Alexanders will not disappoint!
Where do I begin about Alexander's. Seating was the best part of the whole experience. My wife and I walked in with a reservation and were seated right away! After that the experience went downhill. Ordered drinks and the filet tips as an appetizer. Waitress confused my wife's drink order of a house speciality cocktail with something else but my order of Makers rocks was not surprisingly spot on. Filet tips which were ordered medium rare came out perfectly cooked and were delicious! Entrees were both the surf and turf. My wife ordered the lobster tail and the lamb chops cooked to medium rare. The lamb chops were cooked an insulting medium and came out dry. The lobster tail was decent. My entree was lobster tail which was cooked decent as mentioned before but the five ounce sirloin ordered was butchered to medium. The fact I had to struggle to cut this fine cut of meat with a serrated steak knife was just sad. Now with the entree course a bottle of Malbec was ordered. Presentation and opening of the wine was fine. The downfall was when I had to proceed to serve the additional pours myself without the waitress so much as stopping by to check or offer additional pours. As an establishment which offers such an extensive wine list, I would have hoped your servers would have been educated to basic wine etiquette. This was not the case. Finally it came time for dessert. The menu offered nothing exciting short of normal fair. We decided on the brownie parfait. This tasted ok but was drowned in so much whipped cream the other desired flavors took a backseat. Moral of this lengthy story is for the price of everything please find a better dinner establishment to spend your time and money at
Great food and service. Please bring back the delicious lobster bisque.
We enjoyed our waiter, Larry. He was great as well as the bartender
We have eaten dinner there before and thought the brunch would be good. Unfortunately, the eggs benedict, french toast and pancakes were not very good at all. My husband ordered an omelet and it wasn't cooked all the way through (he ate it anyway..yuck). Our 14 year old granddaughter is a poor eater but was looking forward to the french toast and pancakes but they were not good. We paid $21.00 for her to eat Mac and Cheese which she did say was very good. Our waitress (can't remember her name sorry) however was excellent and attentive. On the good side, it does have a very warm, friendly atmosphere and we would go back there for dinner.
Disappointed how dry the filet (cooked medium) was. Didn't expect that considering the $32.00 price tag. Two others also has the filet. Both dry as well.
CEO came to town. He is a person that has traveled the world in his career. His positive responses on everything at Alexanders was gratifying to me since I picked it. We had an excellent business discussion with nice live background music. If there was a negative at all, and not really, it's the fact that there were too many string beans on his plate.
Had an amazing evening. This was our 5 or 6th time dining and it is still impressive.
We have been there twice for Sunday brunch. The most recent time, we went there for Valentine's Day brunch. For drinks we had mimosas and coffee. They have an omelet station at a nice selection of hot items. The only downside was that their chicken was dry and thebeef was pretty tough. I think thst a sharp knife would have helped. Service was quick and friendly. We will return there soon.
We have eaten dinner there and may return at some point for that, although there are several better restaurants in Brighton that we frequent more often. This was our first brunch with them and we would not return for it again. Eggs Benedict were soggy, should have gone for the omelet station. Chicken breast, poached cod, Mac and cheese, green beans, not really appetizing looking. We were not told about the carved beef and completely missed it so cannot judge. Biscuits and gravy were just bad, as was the smoked salmon, which was very sweet, not what I expected. The biggest disappointment was the "so-called" dessert bar consisting of packaged cookies, packaged mini muffins and mini cupcakes, along with a fruit tray of pineapple, cantaloupe and watermelon slices. Additionally, the Bloody Mary was so bad, I could not finish it. Underwhelming at $21.00 per person!
Some dinners have issues and when they do I look for the staff to make it right. This was one of those cases and the waiter and manager did everything right. The food was great and the recovery by the staff will definitely have us returning. Thanks Alexander's.
Just moved into the area from Bloomfield Hills. We were looking to explore new reastaurants close to our new home, and this one is certainly a keeper. Nice menu options, delicious food, and impeccable service. Quaint, comfortable, and unpretentious. Loved it.
This is a favorite for me! Never disappoints. Good food, good service and pleasant surroundings. Will continue to be at the top of my list for local dining.
The Sunday brunch buffet was pretty good, but the fish in the warmer was dry, and the French toast was nothing special. The chicken was tender and delicious. The Bloody Mary was excellent.
We love to bring out of town guests, they always enjoy it. Alexander's is fabulous!
Love everything about this place. Food presentation, timing, service, wines, music. Just a great find.
We had heard good things about Alexander's but were disappointed. We were greeted promptly and seated to a nice table by the window but service was a slow. (It wasn't overly busy) I ordered the scallop and striped bass with risotto. Only 2 scallops and a very small piece of fish, smaller than a deck of cards, with risotto that needed some flavor. My husbands white fish and perch dish was very small also and the price of each dish was too high for what we received.
Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly served.
We went on a Tuesday evening early and had dinner. There were four of us. The Surf and Turf steak and lobster special was very good for $18. Also, lamb chops and shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the calamari appetizer and that was excellent. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable server. We will be going back.
This establishment has been in the Brighton area for many years with more than one owner and title. We were able to get a reservation for 6 on a Saturday evening from earlier that afternoon. Overall the food was very good, with generous portion sizes and appropriately priced. The fare is pretty basic "American" (Land & Sea as the name implies).
What we were most impressed and appreciative of was our waiter. He was definitely professional and attentive. One of the best servers I have had in some time.
I ordered white fish. Was disappointed in the preparation. It looked like fish patty. I was expecting something that looked like a filet. Taste not what I expected. Service, cocktails and appetizers were great.!
always good food and the service was great, our waiter was very professional and informative.
Great choices for Sunday breakfast buffet. Came at noon and still fresh. Well made omlets.
Never had a bad meal; food is always spot on and so is service! Repeat customer and will definitely be back!
Great variety of food choices from scallops, ribs, steak and chicken. Great service, decent happy hour prices or discounted call/wines.
Great find, will be back.
SO LOOKING TO CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY FOR A NICE LUNCH. 2 OF THE DISHES LUNCH STEAK POTATOES AND BEANS COLD. BREAD NOT COOK THROUGH. SERVICE VERY SLOW. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE SOUP.
The risotto was outstanding and the fish was perfect. I'm a foodie who can cook so often when I dine out I'm disasppointed with my meal and think to myself I could have done better at home. I also have a few allergies so often my stomach is bloated or uncomfortable post a meal out, but not this time. So for me, my birthday meal out on the town was awesome!
We had a group of six, including a couple that hadn't eaten here previously. Good service and good food, enough that we'd come back to visit again. I had the Blackened Mahi (excellent) and my wife had the specialty seafood dinner with scallops. She enjoyed hers and said the scallops were quite good. Portions are not huge but appropriate for a nicer restaurant. Bar only had a few varieties on draft but a pretty extensive bottle selection. Draft selections were all excellent and almost all Michigan brews. Good spot, we'll be back.
The crispy asparagus with wasabi cream was a delicious app. Ginger martini also great! ( Half off on Thursdays). Entree was lamb chops, very good , glad i ordered medium they were "my " medium rare. Hubby had the Alexander special with scallops, halibut, and a creme fraiche risotto he thought it was very good. Desserts were the creme brûlée and banana bread pudding. Nice live music playing quietly made for great atomosphere.
but now their theme is increasing prices with less delivered. No side salad included with your $29 meal. Food was dry. Veggie is always green beans. I asked to change to broccoli that was on another entree and that would be "an upcharge". The brussel sprout/ kale salad had no brussel sprouts, when I pointed this out to the server she said "are you sure?", then begrudgingly admitted that they weren't i n there and brought a bowl of chopped brussel sprouts so I could mix it in myself, cranberries were listed for the salad , 6 were included in this salad. Bread is boring. We'll think twice about going back.
Chose this place because they had an opening in Open Table. Great choice of wines and the food was amazing. The service was personal and had great suggestions. Creme brûlée was outstanding!!!
This restaurant usually exceeds expectations. Nice ambiance, but food and service quality are great too, especially the friendly staff.
Excellent fresh perch lunch.
While the food is decent, the portions are very small and it's very overpriced for the area. We have dined here on many occasions but usually as a "last resort" due to the value to cost ratio. We were overcharged for our last meal there and didn't realize it until we had left the restaurant. $66+ (with tip) for two pieces of salmon (nothing fancy) and two stalks of broccolini and one glass of wine was ridiculous. Additionally, it was a cool night and we asked if it would be okay to dine outside and were assured it would be no problem at all. Service was extremely slow and we felt we may have been forgotten a time or two.
