We received a friendly greeting the minute we walked in the door. We had a party of 6, everyone ordered something different and everyone LOVED their food! As important as the food is the service. It was superb. I would recommend Aldo's Restaurant to anyone wanting a fabulous meal in a beautiful setting.

The Halibut special over risotto and vegetables was to die for! I’m glad we got there early. It was so popular they ran out at 8:15 PM. I hope they put it on the regular menu.

My wife and I really like eating here for our Anniversary each year, and have for the last five years. We’ve never had a bad experience with any part of our meals. This year there was a small hiccup with my meal but overall it didn’t detract from from the overall night.

Food was great. I’d return for the food. This was our first visit at the new location. I thought it was unusual to be seated without menus... when the waiter appeared & asked what would you like to drink? I asked, “do you have a wine list? Um, and a menu?” Things went well after that.

1st time at the new Aldo location at Dominion (from their Medical Center location). Was expecting the change in decor and ambiance from the previous residence with cozy nooks to a modern open space. The new layout is surprisingly quiet. Service was exceptional- with attention paid to every detail by several wait staff. The owner was there to greet us when we came in and also say thanks on the way out- a very nice personal and human touch.

Was there for my wife's birthday as she likes Italian. I had the Sea Bass special- even though just a little bit overdone- was still delicious. Wife had the Margherita pizza and praised it and the place when we were done- we will definitely be back!

Really enjoy the food at this restaurant!! This new location vs. the one on Fredericksburg Rd that closed has a newer hip feel that isn't quite as nice as the old family feel of the original. As a result of the new design of the restaurant it is quite a bit noisier than the old one. This new location has a wood fired pizza oven....don't recall the original one having that feature. Didn't get to try out the pizza this time but home to on next visit. Service was great as always....dinner a little pricier than lunch but all in all a great place with wonderful food. Oh....one more comment....no more Aldo's mints after dinner? Not a deal breaker but that was always a nice touch!!

Our experience started off weird, we were seated without being given menus. There was one cocktail/wine menu on the table and three of us, so I said to the waiter “may I have another one of these?” And he responded “no”, leaving me with my mouth hanging open. I started to laugh, and my husband said that he thought it was a language barrier. Anyway, we asked again for regular menus, and finally received them. We started with the burrata, mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes, delicious especially paired with the grilled bread they brought to the table. My husband ordered spaghetti with he said was ok, he felt like the pasta might have been a little too al dente for him. My daughter had the carbonara which she also felt was just ok. I ordered the scallops with risotto which were very good. Dinner came with salad with had chopped celery and chopped onions in them. The dressing was light and tasty. No mention was made of my husbands birthday even though I mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday when making the reservations. Oh, the wine list was good, and my daughter had one of their craft cocktails which she enjoyed.

The new place is beautiful. Food is as good as ever. However, those of us who enjoyed the quiet ambiance of the front part of the old location may be a little disappointed. It is quite loud in the new place but still well worth the trip for the food and service. The tiramisu is amazing which we paired with a Bailey's and coffee. If you come for dinner, you would be remiss if you don’t at least get one of their incredible desserts to go. Though I’d hoped for the intimacy we enjoyed in the old location, we will most definitely return to this San Antonio gem.

Our second time at Aldo’s. It was so much better than our first. They have rearranged the dining room and it’s so much better. Tables aren’t crowded together. The food was incredible. Scallops were cooked to perfection. Wine was amazing! We have found our new neighborhood spot!

We have always enjoyed the food and waiters at Aldo‘s when we attended the restaurant on Wurzbach in Fredericksburg. We have visited the Aldo’s near the Dominion twice and enjoyed the food but the ambience is missing. SovI doubt that we will be going there as often as we did the first one.

The bolgnese spaghetti I ordered was really tasteless. The noodles themselves still needed more cooking. We were very disappointed.
Our visits to Aldo's in the past had great food, great company, etc. Disappointed with the food! I don't think we will come back

Great time, as always. Jaime is a long-time favorite of ours at the bar from back in the Fredricksburg Rd days, and he is a San Antonio treasure. Aldo’s can be counted on for a lovely evening out.

Our faves: cioppino, capellini, and Jaime’s wine pairings. (Crab and calamari are great appetizers too)
Don’t forget great cheesecake and tiramisu.

A little louder than the old house location, but still a sure bet on date night.
