The food was delicious, but the atmosphere was lacking. They have tried to cram as many tables as possible into the space, so you feel very cramped. There is nothing to absorb the sound, so the noise level is very high.
The food is great! The seating is okay. The service was adequate, not outstanding.
It was a great wedding anniversary.
The food was delicious!
Great food, great service. the Burrata was fantastic.
It was an excellent meal with great service.
Great Happy Hour menu! We then dined for dinner and it was amazing. Great atmosphere, we will be back
My previous rating from February was not glowing, but I stated I would revisit after they had a chance to adjust to the new location. This time it was back to the outstanding Aldos San Antonio has enjoyed for many years. Outstanding service, perfectly prepared and presented food, and upscale atmosphere. Will be returning.
Fabulous food and service. Carlos took very good care of us. My wife celebrated her birthday. I had veal parmesan (not on menu) and wife had chicken marsala - both amongst the best we've ever had. The escargot was ok, but spumoni and cheesecake were excellent.
The food was very good, but the warmth we’d come to expect at the old location was missing. Instead, the atmosphere was stark and the noise level very high. Nothing of the walls, floors or ceiling allowed for noise absorption so it was very difficult to hear each other at the table and the menu, as described by the waiter had to be relayed to some in our group who could not hear him. We were only a table of four. So we weren’t that far from him. I had to yell to the hostess the table we preferred. Our group prefers quiet dining. If there was background music, we did not hear it. But the food was wonderful.
Our party of 4 were seated quickly, but we had to ask for menus as they did not give us any and we waited about 15 minutes before we asked. The dinner specials were a Sea Bass and Chicken/Cheese Ravioli which came with a salad. The food was absolutely delicious! The salad dressing was their house dressing and it was light and very flavorful. The Sea Bass was so wonderful and light. It came with a risotto and vegetables and the portions were perfect. The ravioli was flavorful and not heavy like some. None of us felt stuffed, and we enjoyed the meal and service. The atmosphere was a somewhat loud due to the high ceilings and two little girls playing and screaming nearby. Other than that, we enjoyed the food and will go back.
Aldos was a great choice for our anniversary dinner. The waitstaff were terrific and the manager went around regularly to ensure the guests were taken care of. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend Aldos for anyone interested in fine Italian dining.
Awesome food and great service! Try it; you won’t be disappointed.
The food was great but I was sort of disappointed they didn't have some more traditional Italian foods. Like lobster ravioli veal Parm or even chicken parmesan. We had red snapper with veg's. No pasta.
Food and service was outstanding!
Aldo's was a wonderful Friday night experience for us. The food was excellent and our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
I miss Aldo's old location but this is a good choice for a new start. The food remains excellent. Service is great. They make you feel like family. Wine list is adequate. The seafood dishes are exceptional. Room acoustics are not ideal but are acceptable. I anticipate eating here often.
Ordered risotto with shrimp but was charged for 2 dishes- a risotto and shrimp scampi. Will not return.
The meal was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Our waiter was very professional and friendly, and his suggestions were spot-on. It was loud, owing to the hard surfaces in this new location. We will definitely return, however.
Food was delicious, as always. New space is upscale and appealing. Heads up to people trying to get there from San Antonio, the traffic is ghastly. Be sure to budget enough time to compensate. Enjoyable meal.
Absolutely a restaurant you will want to visit. The food is very authentic with fresh ingredients. The service is very relaxed (in a good way) but precise.
A huge improvement over their prior location.
Food quality is superb. Our go to Italian. Little pricey but worth it!
Good meal.. pretty loud ...
We loved the old place. However, change is good and the food is still delicious.
Celebrating my wife's birthday, we decided to try the new Aldo's location. As others have commented, it is very nice, open and airy, but having been to the former location over the many years, it is hard to not miss it's ambiance.
On balance we were very pleased with our dinner and the new look. The expanded wine list is a welcome change. Having just returned from a trip to Italy, what a surprise it was to see one of our favorite Italian white wine varietals, Falanghina. Naturally, it was our choice for the evening.
While we had a minor problem with our appetizer, the management quickly, apologetically and professionally remedied the issue. My wife enjoyed the Snapper Aldo, which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had some of the best scallops ever.
Our service was nice paced and we never felt rushed, as can be the case so often at many restaurants. Prices seemed to be a bit higher than in the old location which was a small disappointment but not something to stop a return visit.
For us, we are happy they are in our neighborhood and we welcome them with all the best wishes.
We totally enjoyed our dinner.
Thank you for the fantastic birthday dinner. The food was outstanding as was our wine and our server! We so enjoyed the ambiance of your new location. The private dining room was an unexpected treat! We will return!
Thank you again, Diana
Food was outstanding. Very fresh, homemade pasta. Atmosphere was elegant, but inviting. We will definitely go back.
La pasamos muy bien, la comida espléndida al igual que el servicio
Disappointed with the Vegetarian food choices at this new location. The old location at the Medical Center was much better! The spaghetti dish they served was quite taseless. I hardly ate 1/4 and sent it back. Realyl a shame because I liked the old restaurant.
A wonderful new location, bright, modern interior, LARGER Wine Room, same wonderful food and service!
We loved the old location and rated in high in every category. The new location is Las Vegas glitzy and so loud that one cannot carry on a conversation. The food is still quite good but is not enough to make us want to return.
Waiter and food were outstanding. Birthday dessert was a pleasant surprise and very tasty.
Great experience at Aldo's. Made reservations and the were welcomed by the staff at our reservation time. My wife had the salmon and I had the special/halibut. Both dishes were well prepared and delicious. Also had the tiramisu which was amazing.
The service was really good as well. The receptionist, the waiter, and other staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our waiter specifically made great wine and food recommendations and made sure our experience was great. Menu items were specifically described and since this is a branch off from the other location, it was explained that items from original menu were available as well.
The noise level was very high. The acoustics in the restaurant made it difficult to have a conversation or sometimes here the staff. I dont recall if there was music playing or not, but I didn't feel like it was loud, it was strictly acoustics in the building.
Over all great experience and would recommend.
Great food, great service. Fun atmosphere. Great addition to our community.
Zero creativity of menu
Low energy staff
Restaurant for a Thursday eve -was surprisingly-at 8pm low energy -maybe 5 tables occupied
This new location is a great addition to Leon Springs. The food is wonderful, our drinks were made to perfection and the restaurant is beautiful.
The first time we ate at Aldo’s, I had the Scampi de Mario. Delicious! This time I had the Lasagna. It was not a favorite. It seemed to be filled with a grainy textured filling and there was too much of it. One of our guests ordered the chicken piccata and said the flavor was fine, but the chicken was way too dry. She sent it home for our dog. My husband had the sausage and pasta which he really enjoyed. Wonderful flavor. Our other guest was happy with the scallops. I guess we would say the review is mixed. I only go to the trouble of telling you this because I want you to succeed.
Superb experience in a new location. Food quality excellent as it was at his former location.
Modern decor, my wife and I enjoyed very much.
Aldo is usually there, greeting patrons as old friends, as many people are.
Upscale dining experience as we’ve had in NYC, LA, Las Vegas without the travel or high prices of those locales.
Bar area lively and well done, with a great bar food menu.
This is a new restaurant physically, but Aldo and his staff are highly trained with decades of experience from the former location in the medical center.
We will be back many times!
Thanks Aldo, for moving near us and maintaining the excellence of your former site. Well done!
It was our first time dining at Aldo’s. Loved how they reconfigured the new space. The food was great. But find paying $26.00 for spaghetti and meatballs a little high. But food was delicious and service was great. Ernesto was attentive and quick. Definitely will return.
