   The Alcala restaurant food, service and ambience were excellent. We were three of us and we enjoyed the food, service and everything was excellent. We are very happy. as always, we would like to say thank you very much for the excellent service. We have been going to this restaurant more than 17 years. Please go ahead and try the world class treatment.

   The owner and his staff provided personal attention to myself and my guest which is rarely seen. We received excellent service and personal attention by the wait staff and the food delicious. My only gripe was that there was no "pulpo" on the menu which is an essential part of the menu for any Spanish restaurant of note either here or abroad.

   The meal and evening at Alcala was delightful. I ordered tapas and my wife ordered seafood paella. It was all perfect. The restaurant is family run, and they were lovely to talk with. The categories available on OpenTable are inadequate to describe our evening at Alcala, which to me was a place neighborly, family warmth, delicious authentic Spanish food. Will definitely return to enjoy Alcala in the future.

   Paella was a bit watery. There was no socarrat in the paella. Shrimp tasted old both in the paella and the shrimp al ajillo. It was nice to eat in a restaurant where no one was photographing food, and where most tables did not have cell phones out.

   This place never disappoints! We’ve brought an enormous variety of folks here over the years, and everyone loves it. We have our favorites, but the menu has enough options to satisfy many tastes. Cannelloni & gambas ajillo are the best, and staff is attentive without hovering.

   A step back n time to the 1950’s. Unfortunately, the food was underseasoned & in a word underwhelming.

   Outstanding! The food was as authentic as the owner Jesus Martinez. He welcomed us, recommended a couple of dishes, which were both excellent, and checked in frequently. We had eight dishes with sangria and was also pleasantly surprised with the final bill! Great value, amazing food and excellent service. Without doubt the best Spanish tapas I’ve had in the US.

   Love this Spanish restaurant near the UN. Since we first tried their food, we have made it a point to grab lunch or dinner there whenever we are in the area. Wonderful tapas and fish entrees. Also, serving well curated and reasonably priced wines, including house made sangria.

    Great food with authentic flavors, but the space is a bit tight for truly comfortable seating. Worth a visit if you don’t mind a cozier setting!
