Went to the zoo for our Anniversary and wanted to try out this restaurant. Food was very good, but more importantly, our server Kai was excellent. Being a hot day, and with bit of us already feeling worn out, Kai ended up making our day!
Great food service was fantastic the Brussel sprouts were awesome, my wife had the salmon it was cooked to perfection
Well worth booking. Good restaurant particularly considering its part of the zoo.
This was such a great find. Wonderful food and a great setting within the zoo. A great break from the hustle of the zoo. Service was great as well.
Not the friendliest or organized person to seat folks, but the server was excellent. The craft beer I had was cold and tasty. I had the Impossible Burger which was a little on the dry side, but tasted fine. Really good fries that came with the burger. We had a Margherite pizza as an appetizer which was very good. Nice ambiance in the middle of the jungle.
I've never been to the San Diego Zoo but I wanted to find a nice place to eat. My meal was Exquisite. The View was wonderful. I made a reservation but I guess it a time I went I didn't really need one. It was extremely difficult to find its turns out it was two levels lower than where I was. It's probably say it's under such and such. Great service and in place I definitely would love to return to
This was our second outstanding dinner at Albert's. It was a warm evening yet dining on the patio was very pleasant. We both enjoyed the brussel Sprouts. My husband had the grouper with shrimp polenta which was delicious. He stated it was the best dish he had in awhile and note we dined out often!! I had the summer salad with goat cheese and peaches, delicious. Perfect menu for people who do not eat meat/fish. Our waiter, Richard was excellent very attentive. Overall a positive experience, we shall return soon. BTW Zoo at Night rocks!!
Love coming here when we are in town. The waiter was excellent. Food was good.
We thought the restaurant would have a view, but it was at the bottom of Treetops in an enclosed space. Some spots had a view of the bottom of a waterfall.
Went for our 30th anniversary since we met at the zoo and had a great meal in a nice environment
Such a great restaurant with great ambiance! The outdoor patio is delightful and the interior artwork is excellent
Menu is not as good as the past.
It was our first time dining at Albert’s. We loved it. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The view was great. We will definitely come back. The food was great. I had the carnitas tacos, my hubby had the fish & chips; our friends had a veggie pizza and fish & chips. Even my daughter loved her food, which was a grilled cheese. The beer selection was good. The iced tea was delicious. Overall very happy with our dining experience.
The best part about Albert's is definitely the view from the outdoor seating. You are in the tree tops in the middle of the zoo, with a serene waterfall right next door. I have only been for brunch so I can only comment on that food, but it is always tasty. The menu is somewhat limited; there's enough that everyone can usually find something they want though. The bottomless mimosas are also a great deal and the wait staff definitely works to make sure you get your money's worth!
Service was great food was outstanding.. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was has great selection.. Loved Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stoudt.. Luke, our server, was attentive, super friendly and informative
The price was adequate for the quality and quantity of food. The only negative thing I would say was that the chicken in their chicken sandwich/burger was dry; the flavor was otherwise great.
A delightful sit-down restaurant in the heart of the San Diego Zoo. The food and service were very good - delicious shredded pork tacos; the pizza margherita was loaded with cheese, tomatoes and basil; the quesadilla included roasted corn, black beans and cheese; and the kids' mac and cheese was perfect with a side of fresh fruit. The outdoor patio as well as the air-conditioned dining room look out on a waterfall to create an oasis atmosphere. A delightful way to dine while enjoying our famous zoo.
Not very kid friendly for a restaurant in a zoo. I think their target demographic is a little more mature. My salad was good but my husband didn’t end up eating his 20$ plate of food and they cleared away most of our food, some finished, some not when we had to run to the bathroom with our kids. Obviado a confusing situation, and empty table with our own water bottles and bags left but no prople.
Our server was AMAZING and went out of her way to make sure we got exactly what made us happy! All I did was mention that our son liked strawberries and she brought us a whole bowl of them for him! She was awesome, I only wish I could remember her name!!
Great food! Excellent and charming environment! Definitely made our day at the zoo more special overall. We were seated on the patio with the waterfall and it definitely felt like we were dining in an upscale treehouse. I would definitely recommend Albert’s for both casual dining at the zoo and for a fun twist to a date night.
The indoor dining is very loud, hard to carry on a conversation without yelling, which is what the table next to us resorted to,
I recommend to sit outside if possible, much quieter for a nice conversation, it’s hard to get a spot outside because you cannot reserve an outside spot on Open Table, which is ridiculous, I have requested special seats at many other restaurants and never had an issue. I hope the policy changes, so we can enjoy this beautiful patio again sometime.
Albert's is a special place. I am lucky to be able to enjoy dinner there during summer nights with my seasonal pass.
The food unfortunately is only so so. I wold add a few more selections and ramp up the quality. That area of town is known for its foodie restaurants. Albert's is a step down from that but the ambiance makes up for it.
Jacob was our waiter and he did a spectacular job. The service was on point and we wanted for nothing. Please give him a raise.
Food was good and server was friendly and attentive. Fun dining experience for inside the zoo.
I had made a reservation for 8 (2 adults and 6 children). We got there 15 mins early and were seated almost immediately. Our waitress was super nice to the children and was very helpful. Food was delicious !
Loved our meal and experience at Albert's!! It will now be a tradition for our family to eat here every time we make a trip to the zoo!!
It’s nice to be able to sit and order from a menu in the zoo. The food was nothing special at all and very expensive.
It was also super, super slow. They had a salad with peaches that were rock hard and no taste.
The waiter said, it must be the season and the entire batch.
Maybe they could restructure the salad if the fruit is bad?
Great place to eat when your at the zoo! Lots of food choices and perfect location within the zoo. Especially great if you have a zoo membership - and they have fun special events.
Our server was very helpful in accommodating a medical/ allergy diet. Food and service were terrific. Also, GF menu was generous. No cross-contamination... whew;) Great place at the zoo to relax and enjoy a real meal instead of park snacks.
Nice place to relax, have a nice meal with a glass of wine after walking around the zoo.
Very tasty...such a wonderful break in the day....outside seating by waterfall if you can and call in advance for a reservation...the wait was over an hour but our table was ready right when we got there
Celebrated my Grandfathers birthday. Service was exceptional.
Over rated...noise level too high after walking and doing tours. Felt left out because the wait staff had something going on at the next table. (not her fault) The Arnold Palmer drink was barely colored water and over priced. Was afraid to send it back.
My wife and I love dining at Albert's on special occasions. The food quality is excellent and so is the ambiance! We are always very pleased with the service, as well. We look forward to our next visit!
Great little spot in the middle of the zoo! After a day in the park its 'great to have an upscale meal, relax in a beautiful oasis and have a martini!
you wouldn't expect such a nice place with great food at a zoo, but Albert's was awesome.
Alberts is our "go to" place to eat every time we visit the San Diego Zoo. We probably eat there 99% of our 4-6 visits each year.
We came here to experience dinning in the zoo with some waterfall and forest view. We were not disappointed. Recommended to try at least once in the zoo. It’s an experience. The food is good too, not too expensive given it’s inside the zoo.
Such a great place to meet friends just for lunch or dinner; we have a zoo membership so we regularly drive to Alberta for lunch
Great Service. Great food. The menu is outstanding. Compliments to the new chef!
Albert’s is at the San Diego Zoo. It is located in a delightful setting high up overlooking a canyon on the downward side and a waterfall on the uphill side. It is clean, modern, nicely appointed with fairly comfortable chairs.
There were 5 of us, so we had some variety in what we chose. My delightful surprise was that neither the Salmon, cod of fish and chips nor the rockfish special were over cooked. The sauces were even handed and the special came with a super cous-cous and my salmon came with a super, quinoa mixture. We ordered the truffle fries which were good enough.
Desert included a decent crème brûlée, wonderful vanilla ice cream and fine chocolate-caramel Sunday.
It is a pricey place, but I thought it was worth the money.
