Alberto's was fantastic. Very friendly staff and Chef. He checked on us during our meal. His special of the day was great and we really enjoyed the homemade pasta. A great experience!
Bad location, but good food at a very reasonable price.
We celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary at Alberto's Restaurant in Hyannis, MA this past Wednesday evening. Great menu, excellent service and a wonderful wine list. Alberto's is very well managed restaurant; staff all very courteous.
This restaurant makes me feel like home. Small family business, nice people and comfortable food
We dropped into a neighborhood gem. Delightful evening. Food was delicious. Unexpected entertainment by gentleman singing Sinatra songs added fun.
The owners are very friendly and great customer service. Food was good and authentic Italian food. Will go back again when we come back again in Pacific Grove. Price are very reasonable.
Restaurant was closed!!!!!!
The sauces were excellent.
On a slow Sunday night when his waiter was out sick, Alberto himself took very good care of us in a friendly and warm manner. My wife and I look forward to our next visit for the delicious Italian food.
We had a fabulous time at Alberto's. We were treated like family and will go back the next time we visit the area.
Alberto's food is always delicious. He is wRm and friendly and it is one of the few places where you can have a conversation due to quiet atmosphere.
Was looking for Italian food while vacationing and found this place. It was amazing! Got to meet the owner/chef. He was quite intriguing and a joy to listen of his rich history. The kitchen was open unlike most places, obviously very clean and the service was great. If I make it back to the pacific coast, I will be dining there again. A true hidden gem! Thank you Alberto!
Very limited menu and the wine list was a good one but expensive and they did not have 3 of the bottles we had chosen. I used to go there years ago when I lived in Pacific Grove and it was always good! Now, it has changed the food is too limited. However, I had the Eggplant Parmesan and it was very good. The Bruchetta’s used to be so good now not so good at all. Just a disappointment. We won’t be going there again. We did go when John Michael was singing his Frank Sinatra sets and that was very enjoyable and fun. If not for him I think we would have left.
Too bad that this is the same owner and it has gone down hill.
The owner, Alberto, was so delightful. It seriously felt like being in Italy. He came out and asked us about exactly what we wanted. He was completely happy to accommodate all of our needs/wants. The food...ahhhh, the food...nothing was pre-prepared or pre-cooked. The sauce and everything was made to order and so perfectly fresh tasting. I haven't had Italian food this good since I lived in Italy. It was insanely good.
Excellent meal in a quiet space. This restaurant should be packed given the quality of the food and very reasonable prices. The owner/chef is very friendly.
Go for the classic pasta dishes-spaghetti and meatballs, etc. We had chicken Marsala and chicken piccata. Both just OK. But the pasta and meatballs were delish as was the special that night, a pasta dish with boneless ribs in sauce with pasta. Our server was excellent and super friendly.
Not only is the food outstanding, but the Chef and Owner Alberto visited our table after the meal and regaled us with stories of his days in Hollywood, cooking for Frank Sinatra and many others. There are many restaurants in the Monterey/Pacific Grove/Pebble Beach area but this one is special.
The food at this restaurant is just ok. Nothing to write home about. The service is pretty bad. The staff seems completely inexperienced.
my daughter and I ate at Alberto's. We there frequently. The food is fantastic and the ambience is great. I would suggest that you bring your family there, it is really wonderful.
The service was great and the food was excellent. The owner/chef was very warm and friendly, my husband and I had a great time talking with him. This place is a hidden gem!
Even though Open Table confirmed my reservation to Alberto's in Pacific Grove, the restaurant called me and said they could not take the reservation request. It ruined our Valentine's Day dinner plans. There was nothing else available given the late notice. I found the whole event unprofessional and disappointing.
No stars coming from me!
I read the first few reviews on the Open Table web site for this restaurant. What I failed to do was read down the list. My bad. We were seated next to the screen door. That's right the door to the restaurant is a screen door. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before the food server came by. She asked if we wanted water and poured my wife's first and poured the my water glass less than a quarter full. We ordered Bruschetta to start. The bread was burred and there was very little tomatoes on the bread. We placed our entre order with a house salad. The salad came with about 12-lettuce leaves and a bit of dressing (it looked like it came from Safeway across the street!). The entre arrived and we were disappointed with the presentation. The plate looked like it had seen better days and I wondered just how clean it was. The pasta was not cooked correctly with noodles sticking together. There was very little sauce and to be honest Chef Boyardee would have tasted better. Way to expensive for the quality of the food.
It was the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Boom Baby Boom!
Good, standard Italian food on menu. Well prepared in tiny kitchen and service and chat with chef added to the experience.
Alberto's was great for a quiet local place. Service was really good and friendly. Just a great local place to drop in and have a nice dinner.
We were disappointed in the food for the price we paid. Quite expensive. Food was mediocre. The service was OK even though the waitress talked with us a little too much. Many other places to choose from in the area.
We were meeting friends and wanted to pick a new place for dinner. The reviews on OT must have been written by the staff at Alberto's because the food was like dog food. The bruschetta tasted like fish. The canneloni had sausage and mushrooms. Everyone else said their food was mediocre at best. The only good thing was that it wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait for bad food, which would have been murder.
Alberto's never disappoints. Food always great. Very attentive service. And of course Alberto is always in the house to share his culinary story and his house made appertif.
Waitress nice but a little too chatty...We had an early reservation and we were the only ones there when we arrived. A few couples came later. I ordered ziti and it was tasty but it was cold...like overnight in the refrigerator cold! Not freshly made!
This is a lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant where the chef makes everything to order, the service is friendly and helpful, the wine moderately priced--in short, the kind of place where you can relax and have a good unhurried meal without spending a lot of money. All our dishes were good. The chef varied one dish to accommodate our vegetarian son. He recommended a new Italian wine, which we all liked. It was a pleasant evening and I'd go back again.
We were vacationing in Monterey, and looking for dinner options on Open Table. We really enjoyed our meal. I had the special which was a pork piccata. Delicious. My husband had a linguini with meatballs. The meatballs were super good. The bread was the capper, lightly toasted fresh bread. mmmm.
...this place was highly recommended and lived up to it's promise. Excellent food and service with warm atmosphere. I would bring family and friends here anytime. It was also easy to find, not being from the area.
We celebrated our parents' 50th anniversary here and it was an amazing experience; from the time of the reservation to our last bite of dessert. Upon making the reservation, Master Chef Alberto called to see if we have any special requests and recommended a few off menu items. The food was simply wonderful to enjoy -simple and hearty, the best Italian food we every had. Both the service and food were perfectly executed. Personally, I can say (my family would agree), "I can taste love in the food." We felt we were having dinner home, not a restaurant. If I was to describe it in one word, it would be, "MARVELOUS!"
After a long day at the Aquarium we found this place (thank you Open Table) and were really excited to try it out. Well, we got there and immediately got the sense that the chef/owner was NOT happy that we brought our kids - BTW: it was early enough and it was a Sunday and there were only two other tables at the time. The food was good and our server was pretty nice, but I think she was just trying to get us fed and on our way. The chef walked around 2 times (it's a very tiny place) and both times passed our table right up. Just an uncomfortable situation. Oh and our daughter left her favorite blanket there and we called and asked them to please mail it and we will pay shipping... well, they never mailed it. Just not nice.
this is a gem with made to order food by chef alberto the owner
great food at very good prices....don't let this quality of food and service pass you by
We were traveling and came across this restaurant after looking at the OpenTable reviews. They are located in a small retail shopping center, not a great location. We left the restaurant extremely happy. This is a truly a neighborhood gem!
Unbelievable find!! The chef's a genius! Absolutely the most delicious Italian food that I've ever had. The Super Tuscan was a marvel. Everything so reasonably priced. I'll be back!!
Very good food. Chef and owner attentive and friendly . Waitstaff good. Good service. Won't break the bank even with wine bottle ordered. Don' t expect anything but strip center ambience though.
Food was OK...cannelloni wasn't warm all the way through...but was very good. Waiter was somewhat indifferent, never finishing one task before starting another. Not a bad experience but we have had better.
Small portions, expertly prepared. Caesar Salad overpriced and very small in size.
