My wife and I absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I'd highly suggest it to anyone. If you are in Honolulu, you have to go to Alan Wong's!
Service was amazing! Food was, as usual, phenomenal.
Had the snapper and it was delicious . I was shocked at how good the food was at this fine dining establishment as I usually prefer hole in the wall joints.
Excellent food...best we’ve had in Honolulu for years. We did the five course tasting with wine pairings. Food was excellent for each course. Wine was 4 out of 5 but maybe just our taste. Service was very attentive but not overly memorable. Ambiance was charming but lacks the wow of newer/better locations. Only real miss in our opinion is that we mentioned celebrating Valentines (2/15) but servers didn’t even wish us Happy Valentines. Oh well...we will be back for the food.
Every course took so long to arrive. The goat cheese arugula salad was NOT a salad, it's more like a fruit cheese dish, very disappointing. And when we expressed our concern, no attempt to please us. We spent over $300.00 and will not return.
Excellent all the way around from the food to the service to the ambience. It’s our favorite place in Honolulu and every time we come here we go there
The best restaurant I have been to including Regent Cruises and restaurants in Europe. Big smiles.
We were there for Valentine's dinner and it was spectacular! The food and presentation are so incredible; I cannot give them enough superlatives. They had included all of their signature dishes in the special menu: butter poached lobster, tomato soup and kalua pig sandwich, onaga, coconut dessert and more. If you are a foodie, like i am, you will not be disappointed. The $95 dinner was worth every penny.
Ribs were super salty. Appetizers and mains had similar flavors.
in a word: perfect. Riley and the wait staff took very good care of us and even shared with us AW's signature dessert. we will be back and will highly recommend Alan Wong's.
It was my wife and I last night in Hawaii before our trip back home to California. I couldn't have chosen a better place to take her. The dinner was amazing and the service was wonderful.
I suggest you stick to the fish items. My $60 rib steak was pedestrian and not worth the cost, although it was cooked to my order preffence
We went for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. It’ll probably be our last time going. The food was good but almost everything was seafood except the steak and ribs. They use to ask if you wanted more bread but I guess they stopped asking. Everyone was friendly and courteous but the menu’s variety is virtually one sided...seafood.
Classic gem of Honolulu. Set in a strange space- an office building- with food you will dream about for days to come. Best to stick with their classics (the ginger snapper) and the "shaved ice" is a MUST if you enjoy pineapple. A true treat of a place!
Great place and fantastic food! Ambiance is excellent and the service is just beyond amazing!
Maybe one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. Michael, our server, was wonderful in explaining about the different dishes. We had the tasting menu, and it was amazing. This experience was worth every penny.
Wonderful people, outstanding service and food that we will remember for years. One of the best culinary experiences we have had in years. A true gem.
Service..poor. I seldom..nearly never..complain about service..this was lackluster.uninterested.uninformed.
Very good soup served simultaneous with mediocre to poor cold stale appetizer.not even enough room on the table..one dish would have to get cold
Appetizer stale..replaced with lookwarm poor flat marrow..I do far better at hole
Description of (actually quite good) fish course was disinterested and wrong.
Coffee..excellent ..a remarkable selection..which the boredvwaiter did not care to explain
This would have been A very poor showing. At a low priced chain operation..unacceptablecat a premium table
I have been a fan of Alan Wong's for years but this experience really put me off. When I checked in, the hostess did not even welcome me to the restaurant or bother to smile and didn't even put down her cell phone before directing me to follow a passing waiter. They rushed us through our early seating dinner and then came dessert where I waited 40 minutes only to have the waiter to come back and ask what I wanted again. The $10 cup of coffee was long since gone by then. The food was just OK, like it just rushed out at a catered dinner, and at those prices, I expect more. It is the customer service at Alan Wong's that was the big turn off and in Hawaii a lack of Aloha Spirit is not a good thing.
