ALAMEXO Ratings and Reviews
Great place to dine with friends and family. However they really need to consider marking menu options with dietary flags...Our server was confused on what ingredients were in the dishes which made it frustrating to try to find something to order (since I have celiac disease). It all worked out, however they should really consider this or have frustrated customers.
Service wAs good but this place was the least authentic place we have ever Been to, not to mention the dishes were severely overpriced for the size with little flavor. The "tableside guacamole" was NOT made tableside and unfortunately the flavor fell flat for that too. So disspapointing since we had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. We've spread the word, and apparently we aren't the only ones that felt this place was no where near the 4 stars it weirdly has on yelp. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY and if you are looking for "authentic" Mexican food, go elsewhere!
We were super excited to try alamexo. But unfortunately we left very unsatisfied. Our appetizer was extremely expensive for a very small portion of guacamole. The menu has very limited amount of options(tacos, enchiladas). The food did not live up to the price we paid. It's a cute restaurant with a good idea. But they need to lower their prices or really raise up there food quality. Don't plan on returning anytime soon.
Nice place, food was good. Our server wasn't great. She seemed disinterested in being there, and even when we explained that we were excited to try it for the first time, and asked some questions about the place (how long it had been there, favorite dishes, etc.)....she seemed really annoyed.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my partner's birthday with a small group of friends and family at Alamexo. The staff and our server made our evening special including honoring special instructions for the birthday cake we brought with us. It was a wonderful evening, the food was amazing, and we will definitely be back!
I can't get enough! Today was my first time not getting the table-side guacamole (a must if its your first visit here) but chose the queso fundito instead. Now I will have to flip a coin as to which one I get going forward. Everyone at my table chose the ribeye steak done up only the way Alamexo could do, and cleaned their plates. If here is such thing as a Ruths Chris in Mexico, I would imagine the ribeye being served like this there. I chose my old standby of the shrimp and scallops. It is the only dish served with the arros con leche (I think that's rice cooked in milk), and it in itself is the star of the restaurant in my mind. Well worth a trip for a group, and even a first date as it is quiet enough to chat, and there's enough going on around (outside) to spark a dull conversation.
There were 4 of us and the spicy guacamole was made fresh at our table and was delicious. We ordered beef Barbacoach tacos, shrimp and scallop dish, pescados mixto, and tortilla mushroom pie and all of the dishes were done perfectly. Their low rider margaritas were also freshly made from real ingredients instead of bottled mix. Our server was very knowledgeable and personable which made the evening perfect. Highly recommend Alamexo!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent restaurant! Outstanding overall experience! We accidentally left our leftovers. They ran down the street to make sure we got them. Couldn't believe their customer service. So happy to have the leftovers for the next day- still delicious! A GREAT BIG THANK YOU for a wonderful evening!
We enjoyed an outstanding meal at Alamexo! This is the place to go if you wish to enjoy a gourmet take on Mexican cuisine. We started with margaritas that were amazing. The guacamole prepared table side was great as was the salsa. For our entrees we had the salmon- fabulous- and the enchiladas- equally fabulous. Definitely try the corn! You haven't tasted corn prepared this way. The flavors are interesting and the combinations can be unexpected and so delicious. Our server was delightful and guided us through the menu. What a wonderful restaurant experience!!!!
Ate here prior to a concert. The ambiance is nice. Not too noisy or echo-y. There is large glass windows on the street and it's bright. The food was delicious. The flavors are authentic, the mole sauce was delicious. This is traditional Mexican food done with some elegance and flair. The chicken tacos (tacos de pollo) were fresh and flavorful, with plenty of chicken. The ESCALOPE Y CAMARONES AJILLO (Guajillo & garlic marinated scallops & shrimp) was delicious. The scallops were buttery and perfectly done, the shrimp was large sized with a great grilled flavor, and plenty of scallops and shrimp. It is served on a succulent bed of what was like Mexican risotto. A real treat. Great service, snappy but not in the way. Would highly recommend.
Love the large bowl where they make your guacamole at the table. It was VERY good. The Mole was recommended and it was excellent. They were spot on with water refills and asking how things are going. Free Churros for our first visit was so kind. The meal was definitely big enough to split. SOOOO good!! We will go back.
The selection was more unique than tradition - that is one of the reasons we liked it.
