Al Tiramisu Ratings and Reviews
We had a lovely dinner at Al Tiramisu. All of the staff were incredibly accommodating and exceedingly professional and knowledgeable. The food was excellent, flavorful, and memorable. Pasta dishes can be done in half portions, so we got two half portions and one full entrée dish to share and experience as many things as we could. Overall excellent experience.
We were so impressed with the service and the outstanding food we were served tonight. The starter was a plate with 5 different tastings from the menu and the duck was the best I’ve ever had. My wife had the Risotto and I had a Ravioli plate that was perfect. Definitely seemed to be a local hideaway and we highly recommend. Can’t wait to return for another meal.
Familiar with this restaurant, husband picked it for his birthday celebration. Food was excellent. The service, inattentive at best. We were not told about the specials of the evening...overheard a lengthy and delicious-sounding menu recounted to other diners...AFTER we had ordered from the rather skimpy printed menu. Had to ask for bread. Our (very expensive) wine was never poured for us...other servers or hostess ran over, seeming aghast, to help, as I repeatedly refilled our glasses. So I think the service overall is not bad. I guess our waiter figured us for poor tippers. I obliged! thanks to his behavior. Normally I tip well, but was offended by being ignored on a special-occasion event.
Third time here. Duck prosciutto and burrata appetizers were outstanding. Gnocchi was good, but a bit too chewy; lobster risotto was good. Chocolate mousse was disappointing. Still, my favorite dish is the pasta with mushrooms sauce- which I will order the next time.
What a gem in the heart of DuPont Circle. We went for dinner on a Friday evening and the service and staff could not have been more kind and attentive. We had an amazing pasta with white truffles from Italy. The presentation was beautiful as they hand shaved them at our table. We enjoyed the experience so much we went back the next evening just for drinks! If you are looking for an authentic Italian mean in an intimate neighborhood setting- this is the place!
Quiet Italian restaurant, delightful contrast to the many fancy, showy Italian spots in DC. Excellent food, gracious service, cute little 1/2 flight down restaurant right off Dupont Circle. Listen to the servers, they know the menu and chef well and can guide you. John is one who is very helpful, but never had a bad server here.
What a wonderful place. My husband and I came here for date night. The food was amazing. The wonderful staff made us feel like part of the family, and we had such a lovely meal. Price-wise it's definitely more for special occasions, but what a wonderful night we had. This is now officially our go-to for a nice night out.
Great service. Very attentive. The fish (arato) was fresh and cooked perfectly but too bland for me. Brussel sprouts were very good. Tender but not mushy. Potatoes were a tad bit undercooked for my taste. Nice menu. Will definitely go back and try something different.
Al Tiramisu has been one of our Washington favorites for years. The food has always been top-notch. The service is attentive. And they introduced us to their Espresso Martini, an after dinner must. Our first meal was in 2008, our most recent this past weekend, and it’s been consistent every time
I eat here at least once whenever I am in DC for business. When my wife is able to travel with me, it is a must. You truly experience Italy in the graceful and unhurried service, the creative takes on traditional dishes, and a sense of belonging.
The gnocchi had the freshest most tasty tomato sauce ever. The mushroom soup was subtle and delicious. The caprese need more basil, but the tomatoes and mozzarella were excellent. And the pear poached in wine was a sweet delight to end the evening. Service was attentive and friendly, and the setting made conversation easy. Couldn't ask for much more. I almost never give 5's, but this place deserves it.
Absolutely superb! We had such a great time our first night we returned the next night for another elegantly prepared me. The serving team was friendly and helpful with recommendation and the food was divine. If you find yourself in Dupont Circle Al Tiramisu is a must.
Many choices for every taste/diet; excellent preparation with appropriate seasonings that produces wonderful, mostly southern Italian dishes. Very nice and affordable wine selection; it was a great place to enjoy a wonderful dinner/evening with friends. Valet parking made it very easy to come to this busy Dupont Circle location.
I loved the cozy atmosphere and the staff's warmness. The food was delicious and we'll be coming back. The noise level increased once the regular dining crowds arrived, but otherwise we had a nice time. Being in a small restaurant also meant we could hear the neighboring table's conversation.
